On a business trip in OKC, I was delighted to find a legit Korean restaurant. Drove 16 miles from my hotel to eat here, that's how much I love Korean food and it was worth it! I ordered the bulgogi. It came with six banchan (side) dishes! The bulgogi was a little too salty for my taste but it was still very flavorful and delicous. To my surprise the banchan here was on point! The kimchi had a great kick, the kkakdugi was ripe, the fishcake was nice, the potato marinated well, the bean sprouts tasted great, and the garlic/onions were refreshing! If I'm in the area again I will definitely come here again. This place is authentic Korean. Trust me, I'm Korean hahaha. read more

Absolutely my new go to Korean restaurant! My friend and I shared an order of bulgogi and jjajangmyeon and had to end up taking some of it home because there was SO MUCH FOOD!! I have been wanting to try some authentic jjajangmyeon for so long now and it was absolutely worth the wait! The staff was SO friendly and attentive to us. This place is honestly such a hidden gem. Part of me wants to tell everyone about it so they can enjoy it as much as I did but part of me also wants to keep this little secret for myself haha. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out we have a local Korean BBQ place where you can grill on the tabletop. I've been in search of one since I love visiting Korean BBQ restaurants while out of town. This place was good. Very small restaurant atmosphere. Nothing like the KBBQ restaurants I've been to. It's a small room in the back for people who plan on BBQing. The food was good for what it was. Honestly liked it better than Chae because it was more authentic, plus Chae doesn't do BBQ. If you plan to grill, you have to order 2 entrees (minimum) from their grill menu which is only 3 choices. Brisket, bulgolgi or pork belly. Not what I'm used to considering I usually visit an all you can eat. THIS IS NOT ALL YOU CAN EAT so be sure you know this before visiting. We ended up ordering brisket and bulgolgi. Both were good. Very flavorful. The side dishes were definitely great. I would visit again if I really needed a KBBQ fix but that's it. read more

Went to this place with some friends of mine who were visiting OKC area, I had been to other Korean places in the metro area and I had heard of this place before in passing from other people but I had never tried it myself yet! One thing that concerned me having come from the LA area was I preferred Korean places that had a full on bbq set for you to cook your own meat with (a common tradition at a Korean bbq house establishment) When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly waiter who told us to sit where we liked, we seated ourselves at a longer table that was also conveniently in view of the tv they had in the room. There was also more seating in the back. I ordered a bulgolgi which is a meat dish which is served with other vegetables, however my friends who were actually Korean ordered things that I am sure were more authentic lol. All of the food looked and tasted great! The coke I ordered came in a 12 oz can rather than a fountain drink. Prices were pretty normal for a bulgolgi dish. The place seemed family owned and operated, smaller vibe place but definitely works! Also one thing I would like to point out, when I was looking for the place on the Yelp map it was not quite where it was listed. The Place is actually behind the gas station which is at the cross streets, it's located in shopping area which appeared to me to have a somewhat small pocket of Korean type establishments in it (which I didn't even know existed in Moore!), one of which was a Korean grocery store/market! I will definitely be coming back to this place as I frequent the Moore/Norman areas quite often! I've eaten at Dong A for years. It's the Okla. Korean standby. Many of the dishes are fantastic. You can't go wrong with the beef bulgogi (stir-fry type beef sirloin) or galbi (beef short ribs). All of the entrees, for the most part, are served with white rice. Dong A is traditional Korean food. That means the entree is paired with about 8 side dishes called banchan. Kimchi (fermented spicy cabbage) is always a part of the meal. Other side dishes that I have had include potatoes that are slightly sweet, seaweed salad, jap chae (a cold noodle dish), some black beans, spicy cucumbers, and fermented bean sprouts. They change up the side dishes from time to time. I would definitely suggest ordering the fried dumplings for an appetizer. They are fantastic. I have also tried the Korean pancake (savory), but found it to be a bit bland for my tastes. Kimbap is kind of the Korean version of sushi, and it makes a pretty good appetizer as well. If you've never had Korean food, I highly recommend that you bring someone with you that can explain everything for you. My review might be a bit swayed since I'm originally from San Diego and just moved here from Denver. This review is just for the kbbq; We wanted to try it out here since it seems scarce in southern okc. There are only 3 choices of meat and an extra bowl of rice is super expensive, there were also not that many sides to eat but those seemed to have free "refills". I am comparing this place to highly populated cities that have many restaurants that do just kbbq, Every table has a burner and for $20 each it's all you can eat. We were left wanting more variety, but, I understand this isn't the restaurants main attraction. There are only about 6 burners after all. The staff were very friendly though, that made the experience much better. The food also tasted good, the sides were all good, kimchi wasn't bad, the meats were alright, and we also tried the ginseng tea. I drink tea 1-2 times every day, and man did this tea have a ton of sweetener in it, shocking really. Overall not a terrible place, we'll probably be back to try their normal menu but not the kbbq again. read more

Dong A is my go-to Korean joint in the OKC metropolitan area-- the food is delicious, servers are friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I usually get the seafood bibimbap (rice bowl with veggies and a fried egg) or the sun du bu jjigae (spicy tofu soup). Your meal comes with small complimentary side dishes that give a nice diversity and variety to your meal. I believe they'll refill each side dish one time if you request it. The restaurant is located in a strip center and while it has a little ambience it's mostly just a small diner, so don't expect anything too fancy. Nonetheless, the location is clean and the staff is friendly. If you're not familiar with Korean food (or have only been exposed to Korean BBQ) definitely do a little research beforehand so you'll know what to expect! read more

I usually go here when I'm craving Korean food! They're one of the best here in OKC. Although service is a little slow for my liking, I guess the good food makes up for it. I usually order the black bean noodles (jjangjjamyeon, that's probably totally wrong spelling), chap jae, and dol-sot bimbimbap. Their potato, spicy cucumber, and sweet yellow radish my favorite side dishes that they have. Although, they usually are out of the potatoes... which makes me so sad because I sometimes come looking forward to that mostly haha. When I want soup, I get their soon do bu (spelling). It's tofu soup. Wish they make it a little more flavorful!! Their Kim chi rice is okay, I've had better! It was a little too mushy and needs more flavor. Their yum yum chicken was also okay. I couldn't stop eating though. The only thing I didn't like was the salad. We asked for lettuce to wrap our grilled meats and our waitress said "yes" but instead brought over a SALAD. Service: (3/5) This place isn't that small and I was surprised there was only one server. I knew service was going to be slow the moment I walked in. I didn't expect much, therefore I was not as disappointed. I was not pleased either, however, because I think there was only one other small group other than my friend and me. Tucked away in a shopping center that looks abandoned. Once we were seated we asked if they had AYCE BBQ, but due to a language barrier we eventually gave up and just agreed to order from the menu. We ordered the potstickers for an appetizer and they were good, came with about 10-12 pieces and a little dish to put soy sauce in (where's the ponzu?!). Would've been nice if they also gave us smaller plates so we all didn't have to hover over the same plate to not make a mess. The bibimbop was ok. The meat to rice and veggie ratio was def not to my liking. We also ordered Yum Yum chicken and the chicken was flavorful but the pieces were unrecognizable? As in ok here's the wing, the drumette, and uhh what is this piece? Kind of off putting. The pork bulgogi was the best entree but even it couldn't win the restaurant 3 stars. This is the first time that I have tried Korean BBQ, but Dong A has set the bar high for my future carnivorous adventures. Upon entering the staff promptly greeted our party and seated us, I decided to indulge in a childhood dream and go for the grill. (like they did in a certain anime about ninjas) I was not let down at all. Our server helped us with popular choices for meat, and instructed us in the ways of the grill. We ordered the pork as well as the beef sirloin which was delectable. The meats center with an array of sides which vary each day, and can be tailored to your tastes. (we favoured the spicier side and the kitchen added more heat). I absolutely adore having this little hidden gem just down the street from my house. If you ever find yourself in moore, definitely give this place a go. The topokki is to die for and the Gal-bi is amazing, do yourself a favor and spring for it! The Dol-sot bibimbab is another favorite of mine, the only complaint I have is sometimes the rice doesn't get crispy enough. She could tell we were overwhelmed by the menu and she definitely gave us some suggestions on what to order which I really appreciated. Obviously this is a foreign restaurant, and it isn't upscaled/innovative, but those elements are very easy to look pass. Our server was very kind. He had a slight Korean accent, but he was very understandable and took care of us well. He answered my questions about the food and also brought his own experiences with eating the food which was pretty cool! However, besides our server, the overall service was okay. It might seem like you're being ignored at times. The food is fantastic. Korean food is very inviteful and intriguing because it's like entering a new world of eating. I got the Bibimbap, but also tried the Toppoki, Kimbap, and side dishes. Everything tasted very good and left me feeling very happy! Came here for lunch with some coworkers. Ordered a variety of dishes. Bibimbap bowl, galbi, bulgogi, tbokki (sp?), kimchi and pork soup, and jap chae. ALL delicious. Fast and friendly service. I must say I was pretty pleased with the taste of everything. We were all extremely stuffed at the end. My favorite dish out of all of them surprisingly was the tbokki! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! Food was bland AT BEST and customer was HORRIBLE!!! I'll walk you through our experience. We arrive and the smaller of the two waitresses tells us "sit here". Like my wife, 2 sons, and family friend are dogs. I ask if we can start with some yaki and she says, "I asked for drinks.". Okayyyyyyyy? We order drinks ave she takes about 15 minutes to bring our drinks and then another 15 minutes to bring a few lemons for my wife's tea. Apparently, this was a MAJOR ordeal and the staff had to send out a search party for them. After close to 30 minutes we finally order. 20 minutes later we get our appetizer followed by our food IMMEDIATELY after. THAT is why we tried to order our appetizer first. We get the rice about 5 minutes later. Followed by the sides another 5-10 minutes later. I am if we could have 3 more chopsticks and the waitress, "in a condescending manner" says that they are in our napkins. They ARE in mine and my wife's napkins but not in my sons' and our family friends'. I mentioned this to her and maybe they only give chopsticks to adults in Korea and we weren't aware of this rule. Apparently this Caucasian waitresses was. We wound up paying over $85 for 4 meals and an appetizer that had no flavor. The sides tasted like nothing but vinegar. The food had ZERO flavor. I've been around Koreans my entire life and this was NOT authentic Korean food. If you want good Korean food. Go to The Junction or Nami's in Lawton, OK. I really enjoyed the food here. I am addicted to Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes) and really like the one they have here. I normally eat it at another Korean place but theirs is just spicy and a lil bland. I really like Dong A Korean's because there is a hint of sweetness too it and it's not flooded with just onions to save on rice cakes. As for the bulgogi, it is a lil bland but I ate it the next day, after microwaving it (it was my husband's leftovers), so that can be the reason why. Will eat here again! read more
