As part of our goal to visit all 50 states, Oklahoma was next on our list. After a full and enjoyable extended weekend, we stopped by a local speakeasy for a drink and ended up chatting with the bartender. During our conversation, they highly recommended a spot that had just opened--and what a fantastic recommendation it was! We stopped in for an early dinner, the only ones there on a Monday, and decided on the Korean Style Seafood Tofu Pot, and some Stir Fried Noodles! After just a few bites, I immediately wanted to take this place home with me. The Korean style soup was so warming and healing. I could imagine sipping it on a cold day in Minnesota - great depth of flavor! The noodles were cooked perfect, salty, umami, delicious. The kind of flavor profile you can only get from street food, but presented in an elevated form. The service was extremely friendly and chatty, which had been our experience everywhere in Oklahoma! Cute restaurant with the right vibes. I was very impressed by their building, personalized napkins and chopsticks, and the detail you can tell that went into opening the restaurant. When I tried to make a reservation online, it said that they did not have any openings. However, we were in the area and decided to check in, and they told us they could actually accommodate us. So my recommendation would be if you are wanting to try the place perhaps shoot them a call if it looks like they don't have availability. I'm giving this restaurant a four out of five mostly because of the food. They had a smaller set menu, which is definitely appropriate for a nicer restaurant. But we ordered a couple different dishes and I felt like everything we tried was bland. The saving grace to me were the desserts. read more

I recently had an impromptu lunch date with my sister here, although I sadly didn't take any pictures it was a truly beautifully decorated restaurant. Very clean and elegant, with great ambient lighting. Would be a fabulous date night. Smaller menu that is traditional with mostly seafood, unlike any of our typical OKC Chinese restaurants. Very flavorful and fresh tasting. A great place for anyone wanting to step out and try something new. read more

Walking in, the décor absolutely blew me away -- from the entrance to the interior details and even the menu design. I was so impressed. It really got me hyped for Chinese New Year and felt like stepping into an inner-Chinatown spot. Service was friendly and welcoming. The pan-fried dumplings were excellent -- crispy on the bottom and silky on top. The Angus beef skewers were tender and full of warm spices (we should've ordered two). I had the braised oxtail mushroom soup; the broth was light but deeply beefy, and adding noodles made it more filling. Dessert was the highlight. We tried the Whispers of Green and Purple -- rich matcha ice cream, creamy mochi, and sticky-sweet purple rice. We left very pleased and definitely plan to return. read more

I came to Ling Long for an early dinner on a Sunday. We were immediately seated. I wanted soup so I had the silkie chicken soup with rice noodles. The broth was flavorful but the chicken wasn't anything special, there was a lot of small bones in it and it lacked flavor. I think I just expected more from this dish. The decor is awesome! You feel immediately immersed into the culture. We tried a few apps and main dishes with some friends and split family style. Our favorite menu items were the flavorful calamari (full pieces) and the sizzling short ribs. We didn't get a chance to try drinks or dessert but will plan another visit. I made an open table reservation for Sunday at 1 pm and it wasn't really needed but probably more relevant for a Friday/Saturday evening. Parking is shared in a shopping center so you may have to result to street parking depending on how busy the area is. We would definitely return!! read more

-Favorite bites: both the scallop skewer and the beef skewer and the fried chicken wings that had a fermented red bean flavor. All three of these items were cooked very well. The Gooseberry sauce on the scallops was sweet and went well with the scallops! -I thought that the beef short rib had a good flavor, but it was incredibly tough and had way too much fat. A lot of pieces had to be spit out after chewing forever.. -The calamari was super tough as well, but flavor was nice -The kimchi cucumber didn't taste like kimchi in my opinion, but was fine -The taro and grass jelly dessert was good! I just wish it had been taro ice cream instead of the taro paste. -Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful -The decor is gorgeous inside and overall it was a good experience trying new things! read more

Ling long had great appetizers: fried oyster and culimari. .Had great sizzling black pepper beef ribs. Excellent sauce and flavor with red and green peppers. Service was great and understood my concerns with food spice level. The place is new but had great look with Asian flair. Sit down with your date and enjoy. You may be spending a little more but things are up these days with the non-wars. Still great place to be and flavors to enjoy. Try a desert. Don't expect sweet but new Asian flavors. read more

The lamb skewers were the best thing out of the entire menu! The mint jelly sauce was the chefs kiss for it! The scallops skewer were a little under seasoned but they were fine for the steamed scallops and noodle. The ribs were good. Very basic. The seafood fried was also good. I could have used more heat on them but they had a good ratio of seafood and rice. The desserts were very delicious if you enjoy Asian desserts that aren't too sweet. The taro one was the better of the two. I was excited for the pandan one but it fell a bit short to my expectations. Overall, great service and cute place and I'll definitely be back! read more

Ling Long now has lunch specials. However, I wish they put the spring roll sauce on the side instead of on the spring roll as not everybody wants the sauce and to keep the spring rolls crispy. We tried the crispy braised beef and it lacked flavor despite having the tamarind sauce and spice sprinkles on the side. Our favorite today was the calamari and egg york crispy shrimps. A friend has told me about its bathroom so I checked it out today. The bathroom, indeed, is nicely decorated too. Our server, Dylan, was very attentive. I will be back to try other dishes. read more

The first thing you'll notice when stepping into the restaurant is how gorgeous and vibrant the decor is. I was blown away just how awesome everything looked. The staff were friendly and helpful, answering questions and giving us plenty of time to decide on our orders. The menu was not overly burdensome, with a limited amount of choices to pick from. Very fun interior, lots of nice decorations and intimate seating arrangements. The food selection is pretty unique, I think this is the best Chinese food I've had in OKC. This restaurant is an immediate no. Although the decor is cute and festive, that didn't satiate my appetite. The food is bland with absolutely no flavor. The kimchi cucumber is literally cucumber with kimchi sauce squirted on top, like can you at least mix it in? The sweet and sour pork was tough and chewy. The crispy beef ribs were atrocious, just tough grissly meat and no flavor! Waiters are inattentive, we both had empty water glasses and had to ask for water after 10 minutes. I wanted to like this restaurant so bad. They need a new menu and new chef asap if they want a chance at surviving. Maybe stick to classic Cantonese food instead of Asian fusion, which is a dime a dozen in the Asian district anyway. read more

The decor transports you out of OKC and into a whole new place. It is fit for groups as the place was a bit loud. Service was decent for their soft opening. We knew there would be a wait but they ensure they are not rushing you by pushing all the food out at once. They are attentive to letting you enjoy each phase of your meal. The food is not authentic to Cantonese, maybe to Malaysians. Sizzling Black Pepper Short Ribs - tender and bursting with flavor. Chicken Wings - The wings had just the right amount of salt. I would suggest pouring the fermented red bean curd sauce over rather than dipping. The wings are good without sauce too. Sambal fried noodles - wasn't the pan-fried noodles I expected but lo mein with tomato sauce. Seafood tofu pot - flavor is there, the broth is good to pour over rice for a more warming touch after finishing the seafood but the seafood was a little overcooked. I went with a large group of friends to dinner recently and the food and service was exceptional! The creative presentation absolutely blew us away and we were excited to see (and taste) each other's dishes. The pot stickers come with this sauce that was absolutely to die for. One of my friends got the shrimp and lamb skewers and said that it was the best shrimp of her life. I had the pineapple pork dish with rice and could not recommend enough!
