It seems like most people are satisfying with Donlee studio. For me? Hmmm...i am not sure. I would say its not bad but its not great either. I paid pretty decent amount of money and quality of picture were just alright. Few things that i do not like: #1 Don Lee is only shooting Engagement photo. Usually, other studio main photographer shoots wedding day but this studio is not. #2 album quality - poor! When i receive album, proportion of picture is not even and it was part of the value that I purchase but seriously I can't even show it to anyone. Don Lee is not just a photographer, he is an artist. What he captured in our engagement shoot blew me and my now husband out of the water. Let me just say that I hate having my photo taken, and don't care for posing for pictures. With that out of the way, let me tell you... Don and Kate Lee are totally awesome. I just got married. Unbeknownst to me at the time I proposed to my wife, apparently part of the wedding process is taking a series of engagement pictures, a wholly separate experience from the wedding itself. Much to my chagrin, the engagement picture piece was one of the things my wife was most looking forward to. So I told myself to suck it up, and promised her I would do my best to enjoy myself. Well, with Don and Kate Lee there, the fun just happened. They actually made the photo-sessions enjoyable, and I think they totally appreciate my willingness to get totally madcap with my poses. I believe Don and Kate are more used to working within the Korean community, so I think they enjoyed having a Chinese/Jewish couple to play around with, for a change. After a while, everyone loosened up and had a great time. Oh, and the photos were fantastic. If Don and Kate Lee can make a beat-up old hairy bastard like me look good, they MUST have some magic up their sleeves. And without PhotoShop, even! My friends and family love the pictures when they see them. Don and Kate really managed to capture the best of both me and my fiancée/wife. Every picture oozed with happiness and love (and occasionally zaniness). Their composition was fantastic, and their sense of narrative was fresh. Don, Kate, and Eren (their assistant/translator) were all very patient with us with everything (especially as we all were waiting for my fiancée's multiple costume changes!), and Don had a particularly good sense of whimsy. Both my wife and I are totally pleased with Don and Kate Lee. Don is amazing!!!! I had met Don at a previous friend's wedding couple years back and I knew I had to work with him for my own wedding. Not only is he super talented, but he's such a sweet and friendly person that he makes you feel so comfortable when taking pictures. That's extremely important! Fantastic Team! I had both engagement session and wedding photograph with Don Lee's team. He is amazing! Me and my husband both are not the person who really likes taking pictures or can have natural smile when we have camera in front of us. Our face normally gets frozen. Don was great, he made everything easy for us. We had so much fun on both on our wedding and engagement session. I'm really surprised at the lack of reviews. Don Lee is a really popular wedding photographer that has worked with numerous friends I know for their wedding photos. Don Lee is an amazing photographer. He is a true professional with exceptional skills. I helped my friend for her shoot 4 years ago and that's when decided then that we had to work with him for our wedding. I contacted his office, made an appointment, and had a meeting with his wife, Kate who was the sweetest person who thoroughly explained the whole process and answered all our questions. I believe that pictures are the only thing that lasts so we got their best package and booked a date for the engagement shoot. I looked through all his Instagram and Facebook photos to choose the location and feel of the photoshoot I wanted. Today was the date of the shoot and the entire process was a breeze. We were really shy and nervous at first but he made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. He complimented and encouraged us throughout the whole shoot to help us feel more confident. My husband has been dreading this all along and even he was pleasantly surprised at how fun it actually was. All of my fairytale dreams are finally coming true. THANK YOU. I first came across Donlee Studio in Yelp and got interested by looking at the photos precious customers posted. I couldn't be happier with our outdoor photos. Our photos came out so amazing! All our friends and family were also surprised by the quality of the photos compared to the cost of the package we picked. The office manager, Kate, was very patient and diligent to accommodate us to changes to our plan due to Covid 19. The photographer, Kent, was very creative and caring during the entire shooting! Surprised there isn't more reviews!! My fiance and I usually do not take pictures so initially we were extremely nervous about the idea of an engagement photoshoot...We were nervous right up until we met Don Lee at our photoshoot site! Don is so experienced. He gave us great direction, so much that the photoshoot was a breeze! He is really talented and knows how to create beautiful photography. I've been used Yelp for years and this is my first review because I loved Don's work! He is amazing! I was very nervous about the idea of an engagement photoshoot and the outfit! But Kate (office manager) gave us some nice ideas about color match and style, and on our photoshoot day Don showed how he is experienced! He gave us great direction --how to pose, where to look, and he gives complimentary so often that makes you comfortable and confident of what you are doing. UPDATE!!!! My friend was such a fan of the photography, that even though we had such a bad experience, she still decided to go there for their business. This time, we MADE AN APPOINTMENT and went in. What's nice is the inside of the show room is very nice, clean, and minimal. They also had a dress shop next door and we were able to rent all bridesmaid dresses and the wedding dress for my friend (I'm Maid of Honor, she is the bride). I must say that they aren't going to be the cheapest price in the photography world, but their prices are pretty competitive. They have pretty good packages, and they'll work with your budget and see what would work best for you. WORD OF ADVICE: MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. It was later revealed that last time we came by, she couldn't help us because another appointment was going to come in like 5 minutes after we got there the first time. *shrugz* i told her she should have told us and we would have understood. Either way, they were attentive, and the lady for the dresses was SUPER on point. She knew what would work and when i tried on the Bridesmaid's dress, she took one look and knew what size to get. That's a nice added bonus right? We enter and there is NO ONE there. A lady that spoke really broken English came out from no where and says that we need to make an appointment for a consultation. My friend said that she just wanted to show her maid of honor (Me) the photo album and she shot us down. I mean, how u gonna have a show room AND NOT SHOW ANYTHING?! Where/when/how is that ok?! I understand that appointments need to be kept and such but comm'on!!! THE PLACE WAS EMPTY. My friend is no longer considering this place. I took my wedding pictures here and it was just horrible experience. First of all, the photographer did not examine my wedding venue so he took a pictures in only one spot. The place was at the beach but there was no beach photo at all - just trees and grass. I suggested to take pictures at other spot and the photographer said we did not have time. Second of all, picture quality was very poor. I couldn't find good pictures and the color of the pictures were odd. I complained and the studio said it is because I was looking at the pictures on PC, not MAC. Gosh, does it make sense?? I printed out and the quality was the same - poor! They did not even bother to re-touch the pictures - just kept saying it's my computer problem. It was my wedding day pictures and they were ruined and I am so frustrated I can't even re-take the pictures. I do not recommend this place. read more

They have the most gorgeous pictures in LA and OC area for weddings!!! I went to several other studios in LA and decided pretty easily since Don Lee's photo was the top! I did all my contract with them and waiting for the engagement photo shoot day now. I am so excited to see myself in their wonderful projects. Don Lee and Kate assist me all the way through deciding on the location and stuffs so kindly. They also have a dress shop(Cocoblanc) opened right next to the studio. I should have gotten my dress there since the line looked so elegant but I did my contract early in January with another shop.. sigh I will update my review later also. We took our wedding pictures here two years ago. Not the best experience. We got some decent pictures but didn't end up SUPER satisfied with them. Every time I see other people's wedding pictures I get very jealous and mad so we are going to Korea to take the pictures again at another studio (two years after the wedding and we even have a baby LOL). I just needed to share my thoughts about it. I think wedding pictures are one the most important and you should be completely happy with them. read more
