I loved this place. Came here with my dad on a road trip, but couldn't stop thinking about what a cute date spot this would be!!! Food was pretty good and the workers were super friendly and helpful. 10/10 recommend.

Very yummy coffee with cute touch of a heart.

It was pretty yummy. Very flavorful. However, the potatoes were a bit undercooked. I ordered the Big Breakfast that included two eggs over easy, some hash browns and a kielbasa sausage. It was very tasty. The strawberry crepes was a nice touch as well. The restaurant had a lot of interior seating. There are booth seatings and standard tables along with a bar side seating.

However, I can't see going here when my turkey sausage and over medium eggs were flavorless and cost $16. My BF poured maple syrup on everything to get it to have flavor: on his scrambled eggs and the sausage patties in addition to his French toast. If you look at my earlier pics, the toast has gotten thinner and overall the food just looked... tired. The waitress was equally tired. It took her 5 - 10 minutes to come take our order. One of the hostesses had to come reassure us that she was on her way. When she did, she was utterly cheerless and seemed really bummed out to be there. Looks like we'll have to find another breakfast spot.

I don't hand out lower reviews without much pause and consideration. We stopped in here a few weeks ago for the first time for a Sunday morning breakfast. We all know my #1 favorite meal of the week is my Sunday brunch. I need eggs cooked correctly, food served hot, good coffee, and at minimum - a smile. We walked in and met with a look of disgust. I was actually uncomfortable at how unwelcome we felt. We were nearly shooed away into an uncomfortable booth and provided with sticky and dirty menus. We very obviously inconveniencing the waitress when we asked for coffees and water. Ice-less water arrived with lukewarm coffee. He ordered an omelette. I ordered a standard breakfast with ham. The one-star review was redeemed with the fact they did cook my eggs correctly. The rest was just rubbish. The hash browns were cold and mushy. The ham was tough and served cold. The "toast" seemed to lack being toasted... odd. He took about 6 bites of his omelette and put down his fork. We both declined a box to take home the leftovers. Ridiculously overpriced but they were sure happy to point out where and how to tip for their three visits to our table. This is a hard no. We won't be back. It was disappointing enough that it isn't worth trying a second time to see if it gets better. It's hrad to fail at breakfast but they have mastered the art.

My hubby had the chicken fried steak with perfect gravy. The staff works in a collaborative effort to make sure that everyone has their drinks refilled promptly and their order is delivered. As soon as they are completed in the kitchen it is a mastery symphony of service to observe . the entire building is layered with so much vintage art from the 1950s era. There's always something amazing to look at and even though I've been here many times every seat has a different view. It's really a fun place to be easy access off 164th St. Vancouver Washington. If you haven't been here yet, what on earth are you waiting for? Make it a stop for dinner breakfast or lunch everything there is yummy today was St. Patrick's Day so of course they had traditional corn, beef and cabbage. Dinner. Option for 12 bucks. However, it seems like lately the quality of the food and the service have suffered after they raised their prices. Foodwise, just within this month, I had to return a Chicken Fried Steak that was like a shoe sole. Looks like it had been sitting there for quite some time. They did replace it with a fresh one which was good. Recently though, I ordered some Halibut Fish & Chips. Again, they were overcooked, burnt, and barely edible. Service wise, I counted 9 staff memembers congregated around the cash register just joking around and not paying attention to customers. On some nights, they start stacking the chairs on the stand alone tables, way before closing time. Nothing is more unwelcoming than that. What has happened to the diner? Have they changed ownership or something? It's sad, but customers will quickly tire of the declining food and service. There are however, some of the oldest wait staff that I have to commend for their service.

The portions are ginormous, so if you're not a big eater, there's more than enough to share a meal. My daughter and I shared the Shasta Scramble and even between the two of us only ate about 2/3 of it. It was very good and we had the thick cut hashbrowns as our side which we both enjoyed. The biscuit came with this is what we called a "cat's head" biscuit in the south...very big, and even better with butter and honey. It's been years since eating at a Black Bear franchise- last one was in Arizona. Feels like it's tired and it needs refreshing- the atmosphere and the menu. Our food came out much too quickly- Meaning it's all pre- prepared and sitting in warming dishes like a buffet. And, it was buffet quality- bland and lackluster in flavor. The biscuit portion is just too much and it dwarfed the eggs and poor quality bacon. Last time here.
