French toast with removed soggy strawberries

Pretty cool place. Old diner looking establishment. Outdated by a bit. The waiter was nice. Parking is easy. The food Lacked seasoning. However, the food themes are fantastic and worth the money in portion sizes. I love that they make bread fresh in house. Not sure what else is made fresh but I had a B.U.M.B Ruben burger. It was massive and not sloppy from sauces. A little salt and the plate was finished. We also ordered French toast with strawberries. The strawberries were meshy and not able to be consumed. They did not appear to be fresh. The water glasses are plastic and extremely worn. Almost dirty looking. Some upgrades needed here for sure.

This was walking distance from our hotel. We were ready to eat something that wasn't hotel breakfast. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Cute tablecloths and decor. Went on a Monday morning, so wasn't crazy busy. The woman we had as a server was so absolutely sweet and just seemed like such a happy person. Loved her energy!! I ordered the chorizo chile hash and my husband ordered the french toast combo. Everything had great flavor. The homemade chorizo was incredible. We were thrilled that the portions were large so we had some leftovers for the next morning!

Huge portions and flavorful meals are served with bottomless cups of coffee. I couldn't be happier with the wait staff. I've only had breakfast items here because that's the best meal of the day no matter what time it is. Omelettes, sausage, biscuits, pancakes, OH MY. Can't go wrong. The only downside is that the tablecloths and decor are sad and often torn. I get the idea of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" that's pervasive is most good diners. But the tablecloths are "broke". Please fix it.

Highly recommended! This has the Classic diner feels with simple menu of good heart breakfasts and excellent and kind staff. This was a stop before a morning hike and it def prepped us for the activity. The cinnamon roll is a must for the table! The ya making me cry chorizo hash was delicious and spicy and while the chicken sandwich was basic - it didn't really bother us as everything else was great. Stick to the breakfast menu and you will probably be better.

Mixed feelings. Updated review here. Chantelle is thee best server. Very friendly. Remembers my table, my orders and checks on me regularly. Always attentive and the other servers there follow right in her footsteps. The management is a sad example and they clearly don't lead because my encounter with one was not of that nature and they don't consider the customer as being number 1. The food is of classic menu items. A NOT SO amazing breakfast spot. It appears to be a clean establishment in the front of the house, but the back leaves plenty of suspect. They bake their own bread. Done daily. Though it's not always fresh. You may even get a slice served to you that has mold growing on it. UPDATE: I got food poisoning from eating the moldy food that they served me. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea... All the tops hits from getting ill by consuming moldy food. Again... BEWARE!!!! More recently, they added a .50 cent per egg surcharge to menu items that have it in the ingredients. I just noticed that they now serve a smaller, cheaper egg with those menu items too. The egg yokes are tiny. A half slice of their rotting toast soaks up the whole yoke.

Let's start with the ambiance - I feel like walking into a farmhouse kitchen with home vibes. It is so comfortable and welcoming to come here. Clean and just small town diner feels. The service is above and beyond some of the best. Even on the extra busy times when they get hit harder than expected you know they are doing everything in their power to make you want to come back and I appreciate it all. Now onto the best and my favorite part. I always get the Mexicano omelette and I definitely have never wanted anything else but will start trying new things soon. The queso added definitely changed it up a little in a good way but that was just for today. Can not wait to try more because I know it will be just as delicious. I always love getting the cinnamon toast for my bread and add the jam because just yummm. Now my partner always gets and loves the chili and cheese omelette himself with the cinnamon toast bread. He likes it a lot here also and he is EXTREMELY picky. The ginormous cinnamon rolls. Home made a couple times a week. We get this the moment we walk in to take home because they sometimes go fast. We found that reheated in the aryfryer (300 for 15min) makes it so good.

Hash browns and poached eggs with coffee

We walked into Sunny's Diner this morning around 8:30. They open at 7, so why were half the chairs still upturned on the tables? There was only one other customer in the entire place. Now I know why--it just isn't that great. I ordered 2 eggs with hash browns. My poached eggs were ok, but barely cooked. The hash browns tasted like the dehydrated ones you can get it a carton at Costco. Pretty tasteless and not salted at all. The server was lovely though and the place is bright and cheerful and looked clean. My husband had the same thing as me and we also both had coffee. Breakfast came to $42.00. Seems like way too much for what we got. There are so many excellent places to grab breakfast, why would I go for very mediocre? Probably won't be back.

Classic diner with classic food. We stopped at Sunny's diner around lunchtime and got to try a little bit of the breakfast along with their lunch menu. As soon as we walked in, you were transported to a small town local diner with the great service and great food. We try a variety of sandwiches, including their club sandwich along with their cheeseburger, both of which were exactly exactly what you'd expect. This is nothing fancy or nothing extravagant just classic good food. Their breakfast sausage was also delicious and we wish we could've come back and tried more breakfast as well. With easy parking out front and a great location in Three Fountains heading over to Sunny's for some breakfast or lunch should be a part of your plan today.

Firstly, I want to preface this by saying the one waitress they have tending the bar, tables, and everything else is amazing. She should not be doing all that on her own, and that's a lack of planning allowing that. She's friendly, helpful, and does what she can, but she's only one person. Secondly, the food is often way too oily. This can range from the appetizers, to some of the sandwiches/burgers, and even veggies. Lastly, I used to love coming here for the salads. They were fresh, large/filling, and full of toppings. Now? A $25+ salad with some added protein comes in a regular sized salad bowl you'd have in your home which is seemingly new with the recent change in management. Definitely not worth the price. I don't say all this to disparage the restaurant or employees. I want this place to succeed because I like the location, and think it's a fun spot to frequent. Changes are needed though if they're going to continue to charge the amount of money for the lengthy waits, and quality/quantity of the food being served.

Lovely. We could see a fountain. There was also a fireplace near us, which was a nice touch. Service was OK. A little bit slow, and in my opinion, the server was not well trained in basic table service. I would expect a bit better in such a nice location with a lovely restaurant. We both had coffee with plenty of cream. We asked what the soup was, the server didn't know if they had soup. A few minutes later, she returned to say they only had clam chowder. Which is exactly what my friend had had there before and wanted. After a long wait, a very nice bowl of clam chowder was served. It was a healthy portion and came with some oyster crackers. Very tasty. I ordered the roasted beef salad. The beats were on top of a bed of totally overdressed spinach for my taste. The beats were nicely roasted, and there were plenty of them. Candied pecans as well. Not a lot of feta. Pickled onions on top. It was OK only I would not order that again. My friend got the Caesar salad, which was very nice. The croutons were light and crunchy. We also had some bread that came with olive oil and vinegar. This item was fine, not great. The clam chowder was $10 for a bowl and it was the best thing that I had. We had to ask for a refill on our coffee, and also to clear some plates away that were finished. We did stay for a very long time. My friend felt relaxed there and was talking to me quite a bit. I do appreciate that we were not rushed out, however, it was not busy. We were never offered dessert. Perhaps we would've enjoyed that. I see myself returning, if my friend would like to.

My parents had been here before for happy hour and really enjoyed sitting out on the deck, overlooking the beautiful golf course. So of course, we had a perfect table with a lovely view on a relaxing Saturday afternoon. We got there at 1:30 PM and lunch service starts at 2:00 PM. Our server Rory, was very professional and attentive. He seemed to sense whenever we needed anything. I had a particular request, I ordered the prawn shrimp Louie salad, and my request was that the kitchen take the tails off of the prawns for me. I just really hate having to do that myself at a restaurant and getting my fingers all messy. Plus I was wearing white. So you see, diva treatment was necessary. Everyone at the table except my mom ordered salads and got their food first. Ta da! Rory and the kitchen totally came through for me. No tails on my prawns. The salad was beautifully presented. I don't know why my dumb Yelp brain didn't take a picture of it but at least I got a picture of it before I gobbled it down. I will say this, the service at the Hickory, the ambience overlooking the beautiful golf course and I confided in Rory that the prawn shrimp Louie was the best salad I've ever had. Seriously, the best. I hope the weather is nice towards the end of September so we can take my dad there for his birthday. Fore! now I'll just daydream about that awesome salad.
