We came into Sunny's Diner right at 7:00 AM, and they were ready to serve us from the moment we walked in. Kat sat us down and even took the time to close the blinds so the sun wouldn't be shining in our eyes. She promptly brought us coffee and water and made us feel welcome. One thing that really stood out was when one of her regular customers came in. Kat already remembered his usual order and repeated it back to him just in case he wanted something different that morning. That small interaction really showed how much she cares about her customers. She came back to our table, took our order with a smile, and provided great service throughout our visit. The food was great--big, hearty portions, good quality, and very fairly priced for the amount of food you get. We will definitely be coming back! MEH... That's just all I can say about Sunny's. Dim. Not sunny. Kind of depressing. Service lacking, poor decor, and just poor food. I don't hand out lower reviews without much pause and consideration. We stopped in here a few weeks ago for the first time for a Sunday morning breakfast. We all know my #1 favorite meal of the week is my Sunday brunch. I need eggs cooked correctly, food served hot, good coffee, and at minimum - a smile. We walked in and met with a look of disgust. I was actually uncomfortable at how unwelcome we felt. We were nearly shooed away into an uncomfortable booth and provided with sticky and dirty menus. We very obviously inconveniencing the waitress when we asked for coffees and water. Ice-less water arrived with lukewarm coffee. He ordered an omelette. I ordered a standard breakfast with ham. The one-star review was redeemed with the fact they did cook my eggs correctly. The rest was just rubbish. The hash browns were cold and mushy. The ham was tough and served cold. The "toast" seemed to lack being toasted... odd. He took about 6 bites of his omelette and put down his fork. We both declined a box to take home the leftovers. Ridiculously overpriced but they were sure happy to point out where and how to tip for their three visits to our table. This is a hard no. We won't be back. It was disappointing enough that it isn't worth trying a second time to see if it gets better. It's hrad to fail at breakfast but they have mastered the art. read more

If your grandma ever made soup this is it ! Broth and bits from corned beef and cabbage wow delicious! I barely touched my sandwich no slight there merely a testament to the soup makers! Goodness gracious it's a beautiful melting . The staff was great. It was busy, but everybody got their glasses refilled and orders delivered in a timely manner so that was awesome. After the hairy sweaty waiter dropped our lukewarm coffee in dirty cups on our table I knew this was not going to be a good dining experience. Pretty cool place. Old diner looking establishment. Outdated by a bit. The waiter was nice. Parking is easy. The food Lacked seasoning. However, the food themes are fantastic and worth the money in portion sizes. I love that they make bread fresh in house. Not sure what else is made fresh but I had a B.U.M.B Ruben burger. It was massive and not sloppy from sauces. A little salt and the plate was finished. We also ordered French toast with strawberries. The strawberries were meshy and not able to be consumed. My husband and I stopped at Sunny's while we were out running errands. Worst mistake ever. Everything was dirty from the chair at the table to the silverware to the little plate of coffee creamers on the table. The corned beef hash was gross mush, the coffee was terrible. Service was slow and they never offered refills of water or iced tea. Never came to check on us so we could ask for refills. Once we finally had a chance to ask for our bill the waitress looked at our plates that we had barely touched and didn't bother asking if everything tasted ok or why we didn't want to go boxes. The people at the table behind us hardly touched their plates and didn't get boxes either, so I have a feeling this is normal. The "sourdough" bread is disgusting, too. The service here is good, the food is what you would expect at a breakfast place marketed as a diner. I'm giving one star because the place is so gross. Everything looks dirty - the mugs, and when you get a refill on your coffee the coffee pot looks dirty on the outside; the little bucket that holds the salt and pepper and sugar and ketchup is filthy. It's got caked on grime and don't get me started on the sugar dispenser. It looks like years of grime and dried ketchup and it's just disgusting. I watched a cook leave the kitchen with gloves on, walk into the hallway where the only thing there is bathrooms and he came back out a minute later wearing the same gloves. I didn't finish my food. I did go to use the bathroom before I left. Both bathrooms had toilets that were covered in poop- just gross and even though I really like going there because it's very nostalgic - if the customer areas of the restaurant are this bad I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like. It's bad. It's probably the most disgusting restaurant I've ever eaten in. They need a manager with an attention to detail and higher cleanliness standards. Huge portions and flavorful meals are served with bottomless cups of coffee. I couldn't be happier with the wait staff. I've only had breakfast items here because that's the best meal of the day no matter what time it is. Omelettes, sausage, biscuits, pancakes, OH MY. Can't go wrong. The only downside is that the tablecloths and decor are sad and often torn. I get the idea of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" that's pervasive is most good diners. But the tablecloths are "broke". Highly recommended! This has the Classic diner feels with simple menu of good heart breakfasts and excellent and kind staff. This was a stop before a morning hike and it def prepped us for the activity. The cinnamon roll is a must for the table! Waitress was awesome. Came in Round noon or late morning on a Thursday (if I recall correctly). The Ruben was delicious and huge with full on 1" thick sliced tender corned beef. I don't know when the last time I had a legit Ruben like that...I think it's only happened once though and I get them fairly often... I also had some French toast which was bomb. My chicken fried steak was really really tough! The gravy was lukewarm and super peppery. The hash browns were soggy and my pancake on the side was burnt on the bottom and they don't offer real butter. Service was good though We won't be back! Mixed feelings. Updated review here. Chantelle is thee best server. Very friendly. Remembers my table, my orders and checks on me regularly. Always attentive and the other servers there follow right in her footsteps. The management is a sad example and they clearly don't lead because my encounter with one was not of that nature and they don't consider the customer as being number 1. The food is of classic menu items. A NOT SO amazing breakfast spot. It appears to be a clean establishment in the front of the house, but the back leaves plenty of suspect. They bake their own bread. Done daily. Though it's not always fresh. You may even get a slice served to you that has mold growing on it. UPDATE: I got food poisoning from eating the moldy food that they served me. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea... All the tops hits from getting ill by consuming moldy food. Again... BEWARE!!!! More recently, they added a .50 cent per egg surcharge to menu items that have it in the ingredients. I just noticed that they now serve a smaller, cheaper egg with those menu items too. The egg yokes are tiny. A half slice of their rotting toast soaks up the whole yoke. read more

Let's start with the ambiance - I feel like walking into a farmhouse kitchen with home vibes. It is so comfortable and welcoming to come here. Clean and just small town diner feels. The service is above and beyond some of the best. Even on the extra busy times when they get hit harder than expected you know they are doing everything in their power to make you want to come back and I appreciate it all. Now onto the best and my favorite part. I always get the Mexicano omelette and I definitely have never wanted anything else but will start trying new things soon. The queso added definitely changed it up a little in a good way but that was just for today. Can not wait to try more because I know it will be just as delicious. I always love getting the cinnamon toast for my bread and add the jam because just yummm. Now my partner always gets and loves the chili and cheese omelette himself with the cinnamon toast bread. He likes it a lot here also and he is EXTREMELY picky. The ginormous cinnamon rolls. Home made a couple times a week. We get this the moment we walk in to take home because they sometimes go fast. We walked into Sunny's Diner this morning around 8:30. They open at 7, so why were half the chairs still upturned on the tables? There was only one other customer in the entire place. Now I know why--it just isn't that great. I ordered 2 eggs with hash browns. My poached eggs were ok, but barely cooked. The hash browns tasted like the dehydrated ones you can get it a carton at Costco. Pretty tasteless and not salted at all. The server was lovely though and the place is bright and cheerful and looked clean. My husband had the same thing as me and we also both had coffee. Breakfast came to $42.00. Seems like way too much for what we got. There are so many excellent places to grab breakfast, why would I go for very mediocre? Probably won't be back. read more

My first experience at Sunny's Diner was poor. I was seated in the dining room by Chantalle who was also my server. The only interaction from Chantalle was when she took my order and dropped off my order and refilled my coffee 15 minutes later. She never came by to check on my experience so I can only assume that she didn't care. I ordered the pancake breakfast which consists of 2 flavorless pancakes, 2 eggs with a $1.00 surcharge, 2 greasy and mushy sausage links, 2 pieces of great tasting bacon, a 1/2 ounce of some kind of whipped spread for the pancakes and a tiny pitcher of watery,flavorless pancake syrup that was enough for only 1 of the 2 pancakes. Since Chantalle never stopped by to check on my experience I was not able to ask for anything while I was still eating my bland breakfast. Positives: Good coffee and bacon Negatives: Everything else I would recommend either Stardust or Black Bear Diner nearby for breakfast. read more

Classic diner with classic food. We stopped at Sunny's diner around lunchtime and got to try a little bit of the breakfast along with their lunch menu. As soon as we walked in, you were transported to a small town local diner with the great service and great food. We try a variety of sandwiches, including their club sandwich along with their cheeseburger, both of which were exactly exactly what you'd expect. This is nothing fancy or nothing extravagant just classic good food. Their breakfast sausage was also delicious and we wish we could've come back and tried more breakfast as well. With easy parking out front and a great location in Three Fountains heading over to Sunny's for some breakfast or lunch should be a part of your plan today. read more

Second review of this lovely "hole in the wall". We were greeted, seated and brought drinks immediately. We were waited on by the lovely Chantel, who is warm, kind, conversational and extremely good at her vocation! My friend and I both ordered scrambled eggs and ham. The only slightly not great comment here is that I wish we would've been told that the portions are HUGE! I could **literally** feed my family of four! It was accompanied by a gigantic, war, salty and quite yummy biscuit. Served with butter and raspberry jelly. While I did enjoy the eggs, next visit I'll get just the biscuit! (Or maybe two!) We did not get a cinnamon roll, but I've included a picture to show the ginormous pastry. I can only imagine it's decadence!
