This a a great location! The way in and out of the parking lot can be a little tricky, but the restaurant itself is clean, the food is yummy and the service friendly. Brought my mom here for breakfast during a weekday. Not too busy, so we were seated right away. The server was very pleasant and our order came out timely. We ordered the Dutch baby combo to share. We opted for scrambled eggs with cheese and crispy bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We also ordered hot chocolate, which can be refilled at no additional cost. Honestly, I can't believe this is my first review for them. I had been coming here for years. These guys are local. I have always enjoyed my breakfast. This day I came in with my friend, her daughter, and my mini-me. This place stays busy. Considering the prices and the product. Rightfully so! Always great food and service. Today I ordered one item, that I can't seem to stop eating here. The Cinnaroll Pancakes! Delicious! They are full of flavor and if you are dieting do not try these. It came alongside strips of juicy bacon, 2 eggs the way I wanted them (OM), and potatoes. I can't wait to come back to town just for them pancakes. Well worth it. You have nailed the Breakfast items! So our family has been coming to this restaurant for years since our kids were tiny and yesterday we just lost our family dog to age and injury so we took our youngest who just turned 13 to get some comfort food and both the lady greeter and the male server gave us a very rude experience about having our 13 year old order Mac n cheese from the kids menu when they don't have adult options on there normal menu so the server decided to reprimand us and ONLY ALLOW it one this time so needless to say after all our decades coming here we will no longer be coming back here hopefully they read this and provide customer service lessons to there staff and management. read more

Could do a lot better. They were busy, but we were seated fairly quickly. Food was o.k. as per usual. The biggest problem was that my wife's order initially came out wrong, even though the wait staff and her went back and forth several times verifying how she wanted it. And still it came out wrong. They took it back, and the corrected order took at least 15 minutes to come out of the kitchen, well after the rest of the table had finished their meals. I watched at least several other of the same dish go out to other tables in the same time frame. I find this unacceptable and it will definitely influence my calculation next time I decide where to go out for breakfast. read more

Stopped by for breakfast to celebrate a good report on my recent knee replacement surgery. So glad we did! We have slowly steered away from franchise restaurants the last few years due to everything being the same, blah-bland, unimaginative menu offerings. But THIS Elmer's thinks outside the box. Everything was over the top as far as flavor, quality, quantity and appearance. The hashbrowns are extra crispy w/o being burned. My hubby is a pancake SNOB but he said their pancakes were the best he's had...anywhere! And his chicken fried steak was delicious. My Omelette was perfection, and saving the best for last, the buttermilk biscuits were pure heaven! I put Smuckers blackberry jam on mine, and had to finish eating it with a fork, because it was so tender, I couldn't hold it in my hand.They're located 45 minutes away from our place, but a lot of the medical offices we visit are here. With such easy access to the freeway I think we're just going to make this stop part of our trips. Side note to Owners: I couldn't dock a star for my only complaint here, because the food and service was so amazing! However, being newly (but temporarily) handicapped and forced to use a walker, every step counts and hurts. Please put up Restrooms signage. After taking a gamble on the restroom being located down long hallway, it wasn't till I got to the end that I noticed that restroom entrance required a key code. I had to turn around and walk all the way back to try to grab a busy employee for the code. (Although, just as I turned around, a lady coming out hollered at me and held the door open for me!) Is it possible to give patrons the restroom code when they're greeted and seated at the table instead of repeating the same scenario several times a day? ‍ But again, we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast this morning and will be enjoying leftovers for dinner tonight. On Saturday morning, store was overwhelmed. Service was very slow. Wrt ambiance, the restaurant is VERY noisy. Food is average, or maybe above average. Pretty sure it is Sysco. Waitress was entitled. I will not be returning. A shame, because we used to go regularly to the Tigard location, as well as the location in Vancouver that got shut down. Restaurant prices have increased to such an extent that it requires EXTREMELY good service/food to justify the price. I can cook meals at home that don't break the bank. read more

BF had a fascination with this place ever since he was turned away from being able to use their restroom during a work trip. Lol. One of those things where resentment becomes curiosity, I guess. This refers to the location in Vancouver which is about a 15 minute drive from our house. Couldn't help but notice that most of this chain is in OR vs WA. Plenty of parking even on a busy day. We had about a 10 minute wait once we arrived for two. Lots and lots of retirees there. I'm sure there's a reason people come here, but I didn't see anything that stood out on the menu. BF ordered the Oregon Trail steak and eggs, medium rare and scrambled. I had the Avocado Eggs Benedict with no Hollandaise and hash browns. Service btw is great. Very quick and friendly. The food otoh was just okay to me. Coffee was strong but bitter. The hash browns are the type with a larger shred of potato and there's not much seasoning so it's just a strong potato flavor with a lot of oil. BF seconded that opinion but he did finish them. Probably due to hunger though. :) I'd avoid those next time, if there is one. They put a side of Hollandaise on my plate so I sampled a bit and it tastes like a yellow version of the brown gravy you resurrect from powder. Yuk. The eggs were poached very nicely though and I did enjoy my Benedict. BF said he enjoyed his steak. It was almost more rare than medium rare, but that's perfectly okay to a Texan palate. Haha. He said eggs were fine. For $55 with tip, I'm not sure the experience here is something we'd duplicate often. The upside of diners used to be the price, but that's not true anymore in 2020's. This one is on par with Black Bear Diner. For the price, I'd prefer OPH. read more

I came in today because I was in the area. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. This breakfast came with 2 eggs over easy, hash browns and a biscuit. The eggs were perfectly over easy. The hash browns were over cooked. I asked for crispy so maybe my fault. The chicken fried steak was terrible. The meat portion was small and tasted bad. The gravy was even worse. The server was emotionless and didn't seem to care about me. No coffee refill. No soda refill. I sat in my booth writing this review. She brought my check 20 minutes ago while I was eating and has not been back since. Can't recommend this place. read more
