Donut Factory is scrumptious! My top three favorites are the blueberry fritter OMG so good, maple bar, and the raspberry filled glaze. They all are delicious and their textures are a light and crispy on the outside and a melt-y dough-nut texture on the inside. And the glazing is the perfect balance to feel like it's not too heavy. There were some that weren't my taste, specifically the old fashions were too dry and crumbly for my taste, and cinnamon roll could have had more icing. But I think there's something for everyone you just have to try some to find what you like most! I like that the donuts are on display so you can compare the many different choices. Donut Factory is an Asian-owned local bakery in U-district! Pop by after shopping at Trader Joe's or waiting for the bus. They have a giant selection of donut flavors and also offer seasonal specialities. I ordered the matcha green tea and the chocolate Bavarian cream donuts. They were lovely! I wish the matcha flavor was more prominent though. But there was decent cream filling in the Bavarian and the donuts were fresh. There isn't any seating or waiting area so it's a very grab and go spot, but there is a designated parking lot and is close to many bus lines. Mmm, doooooooonuts... I popped in one night about an hour before closing, they were out of the popular ones but still had a decent selection. I was in and out quickly, but when I popped in a couple days later on a weekday morning, there were about 5 people in front of me and took about 10 minutes til I got my bag. Of the 5 I tried, here's my order: 1 - Glazed cro-bar (cronut longbar) 2 - Cake donut with chocolate & coconut (ordered this twice) 3 - Glazed old fashioned 4 - Smore's donut 5 - Cookies and cream cake donut The glazed cro bar was awesome, even pretty fresh and flaky a day later when I finished it off. The chocolate/coconut was a good balance of creamy chocolate and soft cake on the first go round so I got one more on my second visit. The glazed old fashioned is nothing fancy but it was on point. I was bummed when the Smore's was sold out on my first visit, but it was super disappointing in the end. The cake wasn't very moist, there wasn't enough graham crumbs, and the plain untoasted marshmallow didn't do anything for it. The cookies and cream was also a let down, once again the cake was a tad dry and both the chocolate cake + cream topping lacked flavor. Overall there's a great variety and good customer service. Donuts galore are found here! Many Colors, flavors, textures were available on a Saturday afternoon. I settled on a couple maple bacon fritters and chocolate Bavarian crème. Both were good. The fritter was oily, but that's not too surprising with the added bacon. The bacon itself was real! Bits of chewy fat and thick chewy bites floated all around the sea of maple. It was good, but I wish I stuck with a more traditional apple fritter. I couldn't taste the apple chunks I look forward to. The Bavarian cream was so yummy! The donut tasted fresh 2 days later! Had a donut craving and popped in to grab a few treats. They've got a pretty wide selection of donuts including some interesting flavors you don't always see (Ube glazed, mango filled, biscoff, etc). I went pretty basic and got a Glazed bavarian cream, blueberry cake, and a naked old fashioned. The donuts were $2.50/ea and the guy threw in an extra blueberry which was super nice of him! I will agree with some other reviews that their yeasted donuts are better. I really enjoyed the bavarian cream, but was less impressed with the cake donuts. The blueberry was good, tasted like blueberry flavor. It had some nice crisp edges on the outside which was good. The old fashioned was a little more disappointing - didn't have that really fresh vanilla taste I was hoping for and instead you could taste more of the grease - have definitely had better versions elsewhere. Was delighted to find a place with an ube donut and not an hour-long wait to get it on the morning of my birthday. I was in and out quickly, parking was a breeze, and the staff was the exact burst of jolly energy I needed on a Monday morning. A sweet spot for all the college students. They have a happy hour the hour before closing for cheaper deals and also offer a 10% discount for various cards (Husky/Military/Orca). My complaint is that they don't accept ice cream sandwich orders in the last hour or so and that lines up with happy hour, so you can't get both a donut ice cream sandwich and a deal, but it's not too harsh especially if you understand the ice cream sandwiches take more time. I liked Donut Factory donuts in my high school days in the Edmonds area and the experience is pretty comparable, so a note for anyone who's familiar with that location. Service and friendliness here is better, though. Regular donuts are indicated by the black trays and "fancy" donuts are white trays. Big fan of the fancy options as they can be pretty unique and mouthwatering to look at. I'm not a fan of the prices because I'm spoiled with a WinCo, but obviously you get what you pay for and the quality (+freshness) here is unmatched. Each donut reignites my sweet tooth though, so I can't just have one donut unfortunately. Seems that they have vegan donuts available on specific days only. You can get custom donuts in the shape of letters here which is difficult to find. I got birthday donuts for my partner and they were pretty good! Not the best donuts I've ever had but they are cute! This was my first time trying out the donut factory and I was impressed. I don't particularly remember each name of the donut as I just asked them to pack a few of their best sellers. But I recommend you ask this because they gave me pretty good options. I think I got the cream cheese donut, cookies n cream donut, croissant donut, custard filled donut. My favorite ended up being the cream cheese donut, which I didn't expect at all because I don't like cream cheese. I love that this place does huge donut letters, which is perfect for a birthday or any other special occasion. I wanted to get some for my husband for his birthday. It was an easy form to fill out for what I wanted (the letters HBD DJ). They called me 20 minutes later to confirm my order and were able to take my credit card payment as well so i didn't have to drive over there (payment is required 48 hours before pick up). The guy on the phone was super nice! The store has a parking lot, although it is small and shared with a couple of other businesses. It's pretty dirty outside as well. The store is rather small. They gave me my donuts in a HUGE box, way too big. It was hard to get it into my civic, that's how big this box was. The donuts slid a lot around in the box. But they came out beautifully. They did forget a topping I wanted and filled the donut with the wrong flavor of cream, but they were still delicious. My husband really enjoyed the chocolate glazed with broken up reese cups on top. I loved the strawberry glazed donut. My husband has also ubereats donuts from there before for me when he was away, and they were also delicious! The homer donut was my favorite! The peanut butter topped jammed filled donut is super heavy, with the peanut butter being a little too thick, but still really really good. I'll give this place one thing.... variety. There must have been at least 40 different donuts on display! Had to get the fruity pebbles (you're a monster if you don't immediately order anything with fruity pebbles on it) which turned out tasting a little old and soggy. Matcha ended up being a cake donut to our surprise. It was a good cake donut but thee frosting tasted nothing like matcha. It just tasted like sugar. Ube also just tasted like a sugar glazed donut. If you ate a piece off the sugar by itself there might have been a HINT of ube but the flavors weren't really strong enough to make out as a whole. My favorite was probably the mango filled. They're generous on the filling but it's not filled out very evenly so there are pockets of nothingness :( Would come back to get more filled donuts but generally kind of on the fence about this place. read more

I finally had a chance to grab donuts from this place and it's amazing!!! I can see why it's so popular. They have a variety of donuts that you can choose from and it's delicious!!! Price was decent as the donuts were fairly large in size. Ube donuts: probably our least favorite because there was no Ube taste, it was just purple, but as a normal donut, it was pretty good. Glazed crobar: not your typical cronut as it was pretty flat and didn't have a lot of the flakiness of a crossoiant, but the layers are there and it was definitely a lighter donuts Mango filled: don't let the exterior full you because this is probably one of my favorite. The outside looks like a donut with sugar sprinkles but on the inside, it was filled with taste mango jams and mango! It was soooo good Buttermilk bar with Bavarian cream: reminds me of a friitter in terms of texture but also kinda like a pound cake mix with it???? And filed with yummy cream. Okay hold up!! Do not pass up this place if you are near it. They have just about everything there. It's hard to find a good cruller but not here. They have a variety. Also the blueberry fritter will knock you over it's so good. Reasonably priced and the people working there are polite. It's in a small strip of shops and the lot is small. The corner of 45th and Roosevelt is busy with cars and crazy people. I'm talking to the Charlton Heston look alike wrapped in a blanket and nothing else shouting out to the general public. I stayed at a nearby hotel and spotted Donut Factory early in my stay. I promised myself I would visit because, well, it's donuts. Duh. While the hotel has a coffeeshop, one day I was up particularly early and decided to venture down to look for Donut Factory (I have no sense of direction -so the fact I was only 2-3 blocks away was irrelevant. I get lost). It was down a rather steep hill - I'm in a wheelchair, so that's not a pretty prospect but I made it. Donut Factory is in a small strip center. The curb cut is on the opposite end of the building. As you enter, you're immediately greeted by the phrase "Donut Kill My Vibe" and, indeed, Donut Factory definitely has a vibe. It's the kind of place you want to linger - kind of impossible right now with pandemic restrictions, but I just instantly liked this place. You have a counter with a wide variety of donut options. They're frequently in the back baking making more donuts so there's a bell on the counter (I'll admit I didn't notice this initially). I ordered three chocolate frosted rings and an iced coffee. I sat out by the curb eating them - partly because carrying a drink is difficult and partly because, well, donuts. You really think the donuts made it back to the hotel room? Don't be silly. The employee was friendly. The donuts were delicious. I loved the iced coffee. I really loved the vibe. This is undeniably a place I would frequent if I were from Seattle. I also like that Donut Factory is involved in the Hand Up Project. Seattle has quite a few people who are without homes and I ran into several right around this neighborhood at 45th & Roosevelt. It's nice to see a business doing what it can to support and empower since I lived in my car twice when I was in my 20s. Overall, I really loved this place and my biggest regret is that due to the pandemic you really can't hang out and soak in the vibe. Unfortunately the flavors of some of them just weren't strong enough so you kind of just tasted vanilla ( ie Ube). Best thing by far that I tried was the blueberry fritter. It was fluffy and crispy all at the same time without being oily. * chef's kiss. 100% would come back for the fritters. The donuts are alright, I would recommend steering away from the lemon vanilla one unless you like Gatoradey flavors. The staff is super nice though so I'm willing to give other kinds of donut a try, especially since the bacon maple fritter was pretty good! Also got the crobar which is a croissant donut bar with strawberry ice cream and a side of toffee. What's nice is that from 7-9 pm is their happy hour so the donuts are buy one get one free.
