Fresh, delicious donuts! Wow! I don't usually get this excited about a donut, but the texture and subtle sweetness was perfection. I stopped by at 2pm on a Saturday and the case was full of a variety of options, some very unique, but nothing too over the top like our friends at Voodoo. I'm all for something decadent but some concoctions can kill ya! Since I prefer the less sweet, I went with what some may feel are boring options, but I can't do a donut loaded with sweet items and lots of glaze. And I can only eat one donut at a sitting or I will crash and burn! While trying to decide, I mentioned that it was my first time here and only noticed the shop because I was at Batteries Plus Bulbs across the street and saw the sign. After I made my selection, Husain threw in a Pumpkin donut for free and I'm so glad he did. It was the best of the bunch! - Pumpkin donut: this donut was perfection! It was dense but still light if that makes any sense at all. And had the right level of pumpkin and spice flavor; noticeable but not overwhelming. I ate it the moment I got into my car and I will definitely get it again the next time I stop by, it was that good. - Unglazed buttermilk bar: always my go-to as I prefer a cake like donut to the super soft glazed. This bar had a delicious vanilla flavor with a crispy top and required no glaze. When having guests over, I'd serve this with sliced strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream as desert. - Chocolate glazed buttermilk bar: same delicious vanilla cake flavor and texture with a coating of chocolate. Always reminds me of my favorite birthday cake; yellow cake with chocolate icing. - Chocolate glazed old fashioned: very similar to the buttermilk bar as it's a yeast rise cake donut. The chocolate is my cherry on top! - Boston cream: this was the only "soft" donut in the mix. It was light, airy and had a dollop of cream inside, topped with chocolate icing. This is usually my favorite donut, Coco Donuts sets the bar on these, but this one fell a little short. It needed more cream inside. The Dinut shop is very large but since we are in Covid Days, there are no tables inside and there weren't any outside. It was bright, spacious and clean. And soooooo many donuts! Often during these times, shops make a limited amount and when they are gone, they close. I started my day with an attempt to get a bagel, but Bernstein's sold out before noon. At Donut King, they are well stocked all day and the inventory is fresh, you can taste it. The case was full of glazed, powdered, sugared, filled and iced. Some are topped with coconut, sprinkles, peanuts or fruit. The fritters were massive! I would need a friend to share one with. They had the typical apple but also a blueberry and a raspberry. So many options! The person working there, Husain, is incredibly nice and so patient as I took a painfully long time to decide. I rarely eat these kind of treats so when I do, I have to make the best decision. Haha. He was not bothered at all and I'm sure he is used to it. Located in a tiny strip of stores between SW Canyon the street one over, that it's easy to drive by and not even know it's there. Put the address in your GPS app and head over. When I opened these box of donuts, I wasn't expecting them to be so big! The size of the donuts makes it seem like there's more than a bakers dozen inside. Although I didn't get to try a lot of the flavors, I could tell that the donuts were decadent but not as sweet compared to other large chain donuts. I typically don't like jelly or cream filled but I was able to eat these ones just fine. Highly recommend getting a box of these for your next party or work event! read more

Since I have frequently visited Donut day, I figure I would give Donut king a try to get a fair comparison. I dropped by in a Sunday afternoon and it was a bit quiet. The shop was spacious and clean, and there were plenty of fresh donuts on display. I ask the friendly staff what should I try as a first time customer, he recommended Apple cider donut, Blue berry old fashion and Maple bar. My fav is the Blue berry old fashion. It's crunchy and flavorful. The staff said people either gonna love it or hate it, which was interesting! About the other two: couldn't quite taste the apple cider in the donut, and the maple bar doughnut seem rather soft and doughy to my taste. So what do I think? I think they got good donuts. I might visit Donut day more since it's a few blocks from my place. However, I'll drop by Donut King to try more favors if I am in the neighborhood! read more

Both of the textures of the donut were super good. Soft, moist, and also airy. However, comparing with other donut places I've had, it was on the sweet side. My co-workers had the fritters and maple bars and though they also liked the texture, they said it was too sweet, too. Well, the sweetness depends on who eats it but I am interested in trying any non-glazed donuts because I really liked the texture of the donut (that's one of the best I've had though I'm not an expert of it).
