One of our favorite spots in Merced! Great Banh Mi sandwiches, especially the lemongrass chicken! Also, we love their croissants!

Some of the best boba tea I've come across in a while! While the building is a bit small the good employees, service, and enjoyable products they have to offer really makeup for it! They have an amazing menu to choose from, donuts, sandwiches, and my personal favorite boba. The experience was questionable at first when there was only 1 very busy employee working, but when it was my turn to order, I felt welcome and I felt that the prices were fair. I went there a second time to make sure my opinion was not gonna change, and I felt even more welcomed over there the second visit! They had more employees, less lines, and a better vibe. I've been going to Donut King's ever since I moved to Merced. It's honestly one of the only places I've consistently gone to. I always get their Nem Nuong Pork Banh Mi or their Chinese BBQ pork Banh Mi with a large Honeydew smoothie with boba. The sandwiches also taste really good with a fried egg and avocado. Plus, my son loves their donuts and Honeydew smoothie. I have never had any bad customer service here, and the staff is always friendly. The only thing I don't particularly enjoy about the place is that it's not that great for dine-in. I'm not a fan of the booths, so we always order to go. read more

Donuts - tasted fresh asian sandwhiches - had the nem nuong sandwhich. Bread spread and pickled veggies were good!! Didnt like the nem nuong much, but looking at it as a regular meat patty it was ok. Nem Nuong on wheat with no jalapeños. Hands down. Said it so many times the kind lady already knows what I want every time I walk in. The donuts are always fresh and the sweetness is on point: not too overbearing but not too weak either. Any drink you get there is good. Their boba is standard chewy and tasty. Everything is fairly priced. The place itself is a quaint 80's styled diner that shows its age, but definitely has character. I find myself sitting on their seats and letting my thoughts wander. We finally had the crunch donut this week and it was to die for. Seriously. I got there at 8am on Monday needing one and the lovely lady at the counter was so gracious to make one fresh for me. It was the best because it was the right mix of crunch and sweet with very little grease. The service is always great and I appreciate how wonderful they are with their customers. My husband went today with his boss and they had an equally great experience and even got their picture taken. The boba isn't bad but it's also the not best I've had. I love apple fritters & this place is the reason why. Their donut holes are also so good, definitely recommend. My favorite sandwich from there & honestly just in general will have to be the "Asian seasoned beef tri-tip sandwich". The bread is not dry at all and the meat is so good. read more

Whenever I come to this place, my girlfriend always recommends getting their maple donuts because they are always the best to get. I always get the lemon grass chicken Vietnamese sandwich since it is one of my favorites. It's too bad sometimes they run out of donuts later in the day because I always expect maple donuts whenever I come here. read more

I can't handle how good this place is. I am here often and would move in if presented the opportunity. Their yeast donuts--especially early morning when fresh--are fluffy and perfectly sweet (a blessing in a world where donuts activate a sugar brain-ache). The banh mi are so flavorful and they don't skimp on the fillings, even with the reasonable price point. Plus, the bread is baked fresh daily. Which flavor to get? Anything lemongrass has my vote. I cant wait to try ... literally everything on their menu. I noticed another review mentioned taro egg rolls.... mmmm.... gtg get some!!! read more

I ordered 2 Donuts... a Maple and an Apple Fritter... it was outrageously expensive for day old donuts. It's like they made them at 4am and here I am getting them at 1:30pm. The Apple Fritter was so hard due to the sugar sitting and solidifying within, I felt like I was going to break a tooth. I took two bites and gave the dogs the rest. Needless to say, it ain't Rollins. Also, they charged me like $4.50 for 2, day old donuts. Maple was also hard and crusty. The frosting fell off at the first bite attempt in one large piece. The dogs got that one two... if there was one bright spot about my visit, it was that the "Seasoned Asian Beef" sub, which they also raised the price on was pretty decent. Used to be $6.99 and now is $8.99... but AT LEAST it was edible unlike the donuts. I hate to write bad reviews but I don't want anyone else feeling like they just wasted $5/$15 they spent on lunch. I won't be going back until/unless they make some serious changes. Thanks. read more

Donut Kings has been one of my go to sweet tooth cravings spots I would go to during college. The donuts are always fresh and delicious. They have boba, and sandwiches as well. It was always hard to find banh mi outside of the Bay Area when I moved out here and donut kings was one of the few places that I've found to had them and were pretty good. The lady who owns the shop is super sweet and welcoming. If you're in the mood for just a quick bite this is the place to go. read more

This restaurant is a staple for whenever I am craving a good and simple meal. The donuts are always light and fluffy with a variety of flavors to choose from. However, my favorite dish the store sells is definitely the Vietnamese sandwiches that are always tasty no matter the type you get. They also have the best boba in town with the flavors and great consistency for the tapioca pearls (boba). The service is also great as the owner and her employees are straightforward and sweet.
