Diavola Pizza

Doppio has one of my favorite pizzas, the Diavola, which consists of fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, and chili oil. The chili oil gives it the perfect spicy kick. It comes with 6 slices, great to share with another person. I've also tried their prosciutto and arugula pizza, which comes with a generous amount of prosciutto. Both of these are thin-crust pizzas. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant, as well as street parking which is free after 5 PM.

We were in the area and a dear friend recommended this place. We will definitely be back again. Loretta and Laura are absolutely the biggest sweethearts. The food we had was very very good. The service is great and very attentive. The ambiance is beautiful calming and chill. Loraine lol. See you again.

Have been to doppio quite a few times. It's a very teen friendly restaurant and offers and wide range of Italian food as well as gluten free pizza options. The service has great. I recommend going between 7-10 thats when it's more of a older atmosphere.

Doppio is a cozy neighborhood hideaway. Its casual atmosphere and array of pizzas makes it approachable for kids - but the quality of its dishes makes it a solid option for adults (with or without kids). On a recent visit I started with the Crostone, a delicious blend of burrata, prosciutto, fig and honey on a tasty sourdough bread slice. My colleague ordered the butternut squash, which was thick and creamy despite not being a cream base. Both apps are highly recommended. For main dishes, my colleague ordered the chicken scarp and I ordered the cache a pepe, a Roman specialty. The scarp didn't look particularly appetizing, served in an iron skillet with what looked like excessive and watery liquid - but my colleague (a chicken scarp expert) gave it rave reviews despite the off-putting appearance. As for the cache a pepe, I would give it a "good but not great" review. It's such a hard dish to get right and the consistency needs to be perfect. Here, it was just a touch thin and could benefit from just a little more pepper. All in all, Doppio is still a really high-quality neighborhood joint.

I've been here a few time. Pizza is good, but you are paying for the area. They need an attitude adjustment.

Consistently a great option for dine in or take out. I have Doppio in the rotation when the kids want a good pasta salad or pizza.

Skirt steak with asparagus, truffle fires and red wine sauce- love the description, didnt love the execution. Steak was too charred- blackened, turning it bitter and not good for people to consume meat blackened that way! Grill marks are one thing but this was too much black. Didnt taste good. Meat itself was also pretty flavorless and a bit chewy. Red wine sauce wasnt great, and I love almost all red wine sauces! Asparagus were cooked well. Also the fries- these are sysco food service fries. A restaurant at this caliber should do better. Go to the elm in new canaan, try their fries. And while youre at it, try to up your ingredient quality they way they do- no seed oils, etc. makes a huge difference and would play well with the greenwich crowd!

On weekends, they have a two-course lunch pre fixe, which has a wide variety of options to choose from, which was great. I chose: - Appetizer: Tuna Tartare - Main: Mushroom & Asparagus Risotto The restaurant wasn't full but the service was a bit slow. Especially after our appetizers, we had to wait quite some time for our main dish to be served. The dishes were well-presented, although not the best seasoned. The tuna tartare had too much soy sauce on it and you couldn't taste the tuna. The risotto, on the other hand, was a bit bland. Depending on your preference, I'd recommend trying other dishes.

The low light ambiance and music was definitely giving adults-only vibes. What I really liked was being able to talk and hear because the volume level of the music was just right. Our waiter was attentive and would check-in on us from time to time, ensuring our experience was the best. He had quite a friendly and genuine demeanor about him (sorry, I don't remember his name but he wore glasses and had dark hair). The margarita pizza, wine, and desserts (didn't have lava cake so I tried their chocolate mousse) were delightful to indulge. We also received a complimentary drink of choice on the house just because! I will definitely be coming back again and hope to bring other colleagues along for the Quartiere experience.

We started with some mocktails that were very good and the apple & pear salad that was also good. Our waitress also brought us some complimentary bread and herb butter. All good. But when my entree came it was so disappointing. I ordered the hanger steak cook medium. It was cooked to temp but had to be the chewiest steak Ive ever had. The steak knife wouldnt even cut through it. The knife basically ripped the steak apart. It also came with the largest broccolini I have ever seen. It was basically broccoli but ultimately was under cooked for how large the stalks were. I did try the desserts but they looked good.

The weather wasn't ideal for a winery visit, but it was still a lovely experience. I'll definitely try to book a reservation again during the warmer months to enjoy it even more. Looking forward to exploring more options on our next trip!

Apparently it is an extremely popular place to spend a couple of hours and when I say a couple I mean that. They require reservations and a credit card to hold them and you may only stay for a specific period of time. If you make a reservation for 6 people and only 5 show up they will charge your card $25. We ordered wine, frozen drinks and a bottle of prosecco to start. The waitress was definitely overworked so didn't get any personal service. That was not her fault, it was packed! Something to keep in mind, they do not have mixed drinks. Of course it is a winery so they have their wine but my one friend was looking for a cocktail. I had the Sauvignon Blanc and it was mid. I also tasted the prosecco. We shared some hellishly expensive appetizers which were very good. I liked the pizza the best. We also had the pretzel and a charcuterie platter. I was expecting to be wowed, especially since they have their rules and regulations but for me, this place is for the "see and be seen" crowd so not my vibe and if you are looking for a low key romantic time, don't count on that, it was very crowded and loud. I think I would go back but maybe wait until possibly the fall.

The stuffed feta dates were the good balance of sweet and savory, and the eggplant dip was incredibly smooth and rich without feeling heavy. A little extra seasoning could go a long way with the dip! For mains, the salmon was beautifully cooked and well-seasoned, and the lamb shank was a standout--tender, deeply flavorful, and comforting in the best way. The falafel had a great crisp on the outside while staying soft inside. You can really tell they put care into each dish. What made the night extra special was the birthday surprise: the sweetest baklava presentation that felt so warm and personal. It was such a thoughtful touch. We also ended the night with cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and an affogato (not pictured), which were the perfect cozy finish. Overall, Shiraz Kitchen strikes a great balance between elevated and welcoming. It's the kind of place that feels just as right for a celebration as it does for a relaxed dinner. Would absolutely come back.
