My new favorite restaurant! 1) Drinks... They have created several one-of-a-kind drinks on the menu. We ordered the Affumicato and the MIA, both were great. We also had wine with dinner from Italy. 2) Dinner... We started with the appetizer special bucatini, then had the Pappardelle Al Tartufo and Pollo Di Sorrento entrees. We ate it all and it was all amazing. 3) Dessert... we had a dessert special made of Kinder Bueno with chococello. 4) Vibe... the music, the decor and all the other guests having fun made this place super enjoyable. 5) Staff... everyone was so welcoming, working hard and seemed happy to be there. We had one of the owners, Val, serve our table. He was great and so was all the staff we interacted with. They have something special happening at this new place. We will be back!

Delicious, great atmosphere, and friendly service. The calamari was not too oily and tasty The mains we ordered were tasty too but the portions were quite small for the amount you're paying for. What do we ordered: Insalata Di Sorrento Salad- tasty, good portion. The added grilled chicken was delicious and well seasoned $19 + extra $ for chicken (I think $8?) Gnocchi - tasty but my son finished in like 4 bites $29 Branzino - fish was beautifully cooked paired with seasonal veggies but personally I had to add a bit of salt $39 Linguine Alle Vongole - they didn't look like linguine but more like spaghetti noodles. Well seasoned $32 We would come back in the future.

Thanks to Yelp, we found this lovely restaurant in Danville when we were on vacation. Even on a busy Saturday evening, Brother and Sis were seated while we were still finding parking. They split the Insalata di Sorrento and the Linguini di Mare. Hubby and I split an Insalata de Cesare. His entree was the Bistecca al Ferri, and we enjoyed the tableside show. My dinner was the Cacio e Pepe with its exciting tableside show. The service was attentive and we had plenty to eat, even with the split dishes. At the end of our meal, we were treated to tastes of the Limoncello.

We came here for my husband's birthday tonight. I made reservations for 5:30pm but got there around 5:45pm because we had a hard time finding parking. The hostess told us that she will still seat us but we had to be done with dinner by 7:30pm for them to turn over the table. We said no problem as long as the food is served quickly. Here's what we ordered and my ratings: Drinks - my husband ordrerd the Affimucato, which is their version of Old Fashion. The drink came out very dramticly with dried ice and a cover over it. My husband enjoyed the cocktail! I ordered a lemonade which was a bit on the sour side. Appetizer - We ordered the special of the day which was the Caprese salad. It was pretty good. Standard nothing too special about it. Main Entrees - My husband and I got the specials of the day. He got the Branzino and I got the Shrimp pasta. He said the Branzino was cold and my pasta was just ok. My son got the Linguini Di Mare and said it was excellent. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our main entrees to arrive. Desserts - Since it was my husband's birthday, the waiter brought over a birthday dessert for him which was very nice. We also ordered another dessert that the server recommended which was very good too. Overall, it was a good experience. The food was pretty standard for us. Nothing really stood out as exceptional or extraordinary. It was a nice place to come for birthday celebration or night out.

Dinner with the bff is always going to be a blast. After seeing this place on social media and talking about it, the date finally made it out the chat. We came on a Thursday evening and it was pretty busy as if it was Friday Jr. for everyone. We had the Arancini and Gamberi e Calamari to start. (We tend to over order.) I had the Carbonara as a main and my friend had the Cacio e Pepe. We had the tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert. We also had two cocktails including the Affumicato and Sorrentina Spritz. Both apps were really good, I favored the shrimp and calamari. They tasted really fresh. My friend was all about the table side, so of course she had the cacio e pepe which she enjoyed. I would've liked the guanciale rendered just a little bit more on my carbonara as when I reheated it, it was a little greasy. We both enjoyed our affumicatos and desserts were excellent. Parking can be a pain, but I would definitely come back as the service was impeccable.

First off the people running the place are great! Very friendly and helpful. I had the branzino and it was delicious, my wife had the salmon and liked it. But let me back up, we had the calamari/shrimp appetizer and I liked it. Our friends had the porcini ravioli and there were 5 raviolis on his plate, thank goodness I didn't get that! His wife had a pasta dish and he ate some of hers.

Food: Amazing! The Caesar salad was packed with flavor, and the added anchovies were generous and delicious. I added salmon on the side and requested it medium-rare--it was cooked perfectly. My only wish is that it had been a bit crispier on the outside. Service: Friendly and welcoming staff, with many of them speaking Italian, which added to the authentic experience. Ambience: Fantastic atmosphere. We were greeted by an Aperol pop-up stand offering cocktail samples, hats, and tote bags. There was a live DJ creating a lively vibe, and a cheese-wheel pasta station with a chef preparing dishes right beside our table, making the dining experience even more memorable. Overall: Great food, warm service, and a fun, energetic atmosphere that made for a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended!

    Chicken Panini (4 stars)

Review is for Friday lunch with the wife, and this time it fell on our anniversary. She is a big fan of seafood-centric Italian cuisine, so I booked one of the newer neighborhood restaurants, Taverna Sorrentina. Its a beautiful, welcoming restaurant with plenty of seating on the patio and inside. Initially we were disappointed that the brunch menu had much lighter dishes with limited seafood options, compared to the dinner menu. However, things got much better when the food came along with great service. 4 stars. Definitely get the Sorrento Salad with a side of salmon. Salmon was moist, while the salmon had tons of fruits, feta, and mixed greens with a light orange-vinaigrette dressing. Shareable with 2. The Chicken Genovese was my dish and had slow braised chicken with corkscrew pasta. The sauce came in a big dollop in top and you need to mix it yourself before eating. Very rich and tasty. Wife got the chicken panini with fries - solid lunch/brunch dish though she commented the chicken layer was really, really thin. For the surprise dish, they comped us vanilla ice cream with a live sparkler that eventually self-extinguished. What a great anniversary dessert! Note the sparkler is still hot to touch after burning out so let the waitstaff pry it out for you. Looking forward to trying Sorrentina for dinner with the little one, who loves pasta.

Went here for a birthday dinner and we were all blown away! Service was phenomenal and food left us talking about it for days following! Collectively, we had the Cacio de Pepe (x2), Stuffed Chicken, New York Steak, and a variety of different starters and drinks. Everything was better than the last! A few items were a bit different than the menu, and our server let us know. Felt like a true spot that has high quality, fresh ingredients. Nothing felt like it was "prepped" the day before or previously frozen. Cannot wait to go back. Easily our new favorite spot downtown.

I first saw this place on BoozieBrunch's reel and got completely influenced by how beautiful their cocktails looked, so obviously I had to visit. We came on a Saturday night without a reservation expecting to maybe squeeze into two bar seats, but surprisingly got a small table instead. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. I really loved the color scheme and interior design, especially under the dim lighting, it created such a romantic atmosphere and definitely feels like a perfect date night spot. The staff were super friendly, and I totally understand what other reviews mean when they say this place makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Everyone was warm and welcoming. For drinks, we ordered the Napolitan Espresso and Giovanni's Nutellotto. Presentation-wise, they were absolutely stunning. Flavor-wise, I thought the cocktails were good, especially if you enjoy sweeter, dessert-style drinks with chocolate notes. For food, we shared the Gamberi e Calamari and Brasato alla Taverna. Portions were generous, seafood tasted fresh, and the calamari/shrimp were fried perfectly crispy. The sauces paired really well with it too. The braised short rib was soft, tender, and flavorful. Before we left, our server even brought us two small complimentary shots of one of their in-house cocktails. I still don't know exactly what it was, but it was good and honestly such a nice touch to end the night. Overall, such a lovely experience, good food, great service, beautiful ambiance.

Pappardelle Al Tartufo - truffle cream, sausage, mushroom shave back truffle...

Start with the positives, nice exterior dining area, inside is too loud (for me). Had a starter Caprese salad, the tomato had zero taste but the pesto sauce was nice, finished that and not cleared when the mains came (waitress embarrassed), along with the menu and other drink specials still on the table, oops! The bread basket, seemingly stale - Main course, the Pappardelle Al Tartufo was sent back to lighten up, too much thick sauce and the pasta was stuck on the bottom, unfortunately it was inedible even after the second try. Linguini Di Mare pasta was sticky, but the clams, maybe mussels?? thankfully were good. Wine menu expensive for what they had, really too bad.

What a delightful restaurant. My friends and I came to celebrate two birthdays and immediately I loved that there were multiple parking lots in close proximity. I believe this is a reservation only type place, we arrive shortly after they opening for dinner seating around 5:30. Our table was already prepared, and included a cute sign acknowleding the special day. The server was very friendly and offered suggestions. We started with cocktails. I had the espresso martini. I think they intended to go for a salty sweet flavor profile but the white chocolate and pretzel rim really threw me off. For starters, we shared the caesar salad and calamari. Both were very generous portions with the right amount of crunch. For mains we ordered the cacio e pepe, steak and fries, both of which were plated tableside and included some torch action. Additional we tried the truffle pasta, the branzino and two orders of the clam linguine. The pasta was light and packed with flavor. The portions were larger than we expected, and realized we probably should have shared. Staying on theme, we ordered the table side tiramisu. I have to admit, the preparation was more exciting than the final product. Again the torch was brought out, to transform the ultra soft ladyfinger cookies and decadent mascarpone cheese, but visually it lacked. We also shared the pistachio gelato. I was surprised by the color, I expected it to be green but instead it was a pale beige. But the flavor profile was nice and slightly nutty. Overall I think this is a wonderful restaurant. I love how they controlled the seating, making sure it was not too crowded and there are even outdoor options.

I had reservations for 7pm but they didn't seem to have my table ready and offered me a table outside unless I wanted to wait another 10 minutes. As beautiful as it was on the main patio and side patio, I'm not sitting out in the cold even if they had warmers, so our party decided to wait. There was another party waiting for a table. There were also more customers arriving and checking in after us but getting seated. Lots of shuffling of chairs, staff moving around, walking inside and outside. The staff looked stressed. The only person who spoke to me and gave me eye contact was the hostess. Otherwise, there was no acknowledgement of customers from the Italian staff who looked like they were the managers or owners. The hostess told us to step aside while we waited for our table. I asked if we could sit or wait at the bar area. She said typically we could but it's really full inside so we had to wait outside. Our table was finally ready and we were seated. Our waiter was friendly and full of energy. Thankfully the service improved. He had recommended cocktails and let us know what the specials were. We ordered cocktails: - 1919 - strong yet has a delicate tropical flavor with pandan and coconut notes - Chihuahua - delicious cocktail, not too strong For appetizers, we ordered: - Insalata di Sorrento - lovely lightly dressed salad - Gamberi e Calamari - great pieces of calamari with tentacles and big prawns. I loved the aioli For dinner, we ordered: - Pappardelle Special with beef bolognese sauce - very good pasta. The sauce was also flavorful. - Brasato alla Taverna - not my favorite. The dish arrived cold or a little bit warm. The flavor was okay. The pea puree underneath was also okay. I think I was expecting more wine sauce or something. For dessert, we ordered: - Cuore Caldo e Vaniglia - it's a chocolate lava cake and it was very good. - I can't remember the name but it was a partially frozen Nutella dessert tart with a Biscoff crust - also delicious. Weird that it was served partially frozen but it was really good. Overall the experience was good. They're fairly new and I think they've got some things to work on. Like greeting customers when they walk in AND when they leave. No one said "bye" or "thank you" to us when we left. The food pacing - our dishes were being cleared in the middle of us eating our calamari and salad when we weren't finished with them. We felt rushed. Then we had to wait for our dinner entrees to arrive. We ordered red wine when our dishes arrived and we had to stop eating midway because it took a while to get the wine. When our desserts came to the table, we didn't get any silverware. Had to wave someone down to ask. Little details like that make a big difference in dining experience.

The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5....the Grey seats we were seated in are so low, felt like we had to stand up every time we reached across table and could barely hear each other. Beautiful decor but not super practical for dining. Will definitely return soon.
