I've had this restaurant on my list for quite some time and I was happy I finally had the opportunity to visit. Parking here is tricky; there is a hidden parking lot but it required multiple circling the block to find it. Due to my need for gluten free and dairy free I had limited options to pick from. I settled on the spicy chicken sandwich and brownie. The guy behind the counter said it came with onion rings which had dairy, so he took it off the order. To my surprise when I got home, I only noticed a sandwich and brownie even though I got charged full price for the onion rings. He could have replaced the onion rings with something else or not charge me full price for items I did not receive. Sigh. The spicy chicken sandwich was okay, not spicy for my liking and the bun was dense, like a dry biscuit that sticks to the roof of your mouth and you need a beverage to move it around. The brownie was not good, sorry. It was dry and flavorless. Disappointed to say the least but checked them off my list. My friend is gluten free so we looked for a place to eat that could accommodate her diet restrictions. It just so happened that Dora's is only a few doors down from Sweet Melody's, another place we wanted to visit so win/win. Dora's Bakery & Bistro was inspired by the owners grandmother Dora Milan. Dora developed gluten free recipes that helped her feel better. At Dora's Bakery and Bistro cofounder Ana Crolla has expanded on her husbands grandmother's recipes, creating a full menu of gluten free food and desserts. While I am not gluten free I am up for pretty much anything and I find that gluten free also tends to align with my weight loss goals so I was game to try them. They actually have a free parking lot in the back which is like finding a unicorn in Miami so that was a plus even though it took me three times to find the tiny alley entrance. My friend and I arrived a little before 5 and we were the only ones in the cafe. The menu features burgers, sandwiches, breakfast, chicken tenders, small bites, pizza, quiche, salads, pasta, cakes, pastries, bread, pies, and desserts. You can order at the counter from the menu but they also have a cooler of food you can heat at home plus cold desserts. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dora's is small but cute. We sat ourselves at the only table available which was next to the hot window.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the small ham and cheese quiche. With a water and tip it was close to $20. My friend ordered the chicken tenders that were coated in tapioca. TBH they looked very thin and dried out. My quiche was ok but the crust was drier than a desert. I had a gluten free pizza somewhere else recently that could have made me happily give up traditional dough but the quiche crust at Dora's had me longing for the flaky, buttery kind. I had to take a swig of water after every bite to get it down but the filling was tasty. After the quiche I passed on the desserts in favor of Sweet Melody's but my friend bought a few things and they looked good. If you have celiac disease Dora's is a real find for croquetas, cookies brownies, cake pops and fresh-baked pizzas. It also caters to a variety of dietary needs, offering vegan, dairy-free and organic options. I was excited to find an all gluten free bakery, but was sadly disappointed by both visits. First: I asked for a latte to go with my lemon cake. It was just a KCup and it was not worth how much they charged for it. Lemon cake was not bad. I came back another wanted to give it another chance and try more things: Carrot cake was dry, not very carrot-y. Didn't taste very fresh either. The cookie was stale, very dry, the texture was of staleness (hardened) and simply tasted old. It's a shame that they overcharge for not fresh items. read more

How exciting to find a true gluten free bakery! Stopped in with a friend this weekend to pick up some sweets and frozen food, and wow is everything amazing! You truly cannot tell any of it is gluten free (which is a compliment in gluten free baking). We tried the alfa brownie, Oreo cookie, lemon loaf, tres leches and the croquettas. This used to be my go-to spot every time we visited Miami (about 5-6 times a year). I always made sure to order extra so I could take food home with me. Sadly, I've had to stop coming. The prices have skyrocketed for what you get, and the quality of the food has really gone downhill. As someone who is newly gluten free, I appreciated this spot SO much. This review is solely based on carry-out. First, the BEST tiramisu I've ever tasted in my life - so used to my favorite desserts taking a hit when made gluten free, but this far exceeded my expectations. The Maui Sammy was a HIT. I love a good bacon, egg and cheese and this one was just made right. They use the perfect bread for their sandwiches. I'm sure I speak for many when I say I'm so tired of gf sandwiches being half the size of regular sandwiches. Last, the tomato, mozz, basil sandwich with prosciutto was also great - a little on the salty side, but delicious nonetheless. One of my favorite things to discover during a trip is dietary-friendly spots, which took me to Dora's gluten free eatery for take out. I had to sample a few items. Spinach croqueta was tasty and hard to believe it was vegan. Burger was huge, took 10-15 min to make, and definitely enough for 2! The gluten-free bun and bacon were the highlights; the meat tasted fresh but lacked flavor. Topped the meal off with an alfajor (sugar cookies stuffed with dulce de leche - cookies were okay but the filling was dynamite). Service was so/so; ambiance was quaint (though there was a slight odor). Really appreciated that the staff wore a mask! All in all, I'm glad Dora's exists and they fill an import at gap in the area. Worst bakery experience ever! Was referred to this bakery and to say it was a horrible experience is an understatement. We ordered multiple sweets to try them. The location is a small quaint locating that has a couple display cases. The person working was kind, but later in the call I made to the location lacked care. The orange pound cake was so hard. It was super dry and tasted old. No way this was fresh. The chocolate chip cookie was like sand. It crumbled when breaking a piece off. This was as if the cookie has been sitting in the open air for a long time and dried out. The carrot cupcake was so dry I could not eat it all. It tasted as if it was cooked, frozen, and then put out to eat with frosting. It lacked carrot consistency and was not good at all. The orange truffle was more like a bittersweet blob of cocoa powered with orange flavoring. No consistency to The chocolate. I called into the location after getting home and trying these desserts. The person said they were all freshly made this morning. There is no possible way and I told him that. I went into detail with all the items we purchased. There was a lack of care and he just continued to say it was all fresh. I told him there was no way! There was not mention of stopping back in to make it right, refund, or anything else. I told him I would be posting my honest review and he said okay, thank you. Did not care at all. So here it is. He said that Dora was the Grandmother from the location but no longer there. I read some reviews and if appears there was a change in ownership. I highly suggest if your looking for a fix to a sweet tooth or a craving, stay clear alway from this place. High priced for old stale food is exactly what you will get. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Find yourself a different location to visit or you too will be disappointed! It's a treat to have gluten-free goodies down the street and a little bit dangerous. Every part of the menu is solid. The cupcakes are small and tasty. Nothing is too sweet where you miss out on taste. It's true bakery fare. The chicken fingers hamburgers do not disappoint. I hadn't tried the pizza yet. The service is excellent. Dora's is a lil shop almost hidden amongst the business in its row, but once you spot its neon open sign and Dora's logo on the glass, you follow the row to enter the alley that leads to rear parking(so old-Miami with that layout .) Once you walk to the shop, and open the door, the great smells of a bakery hit your nose. I'm newly GF(gluten-free) and long-time dairy free and I was elated with what I found here. I got a tres leches cake that was absolutely , positively THE BEST! I have not had any tres leches cake(to which this Miami-girl LOVED growing up and use to have all the time as a kid) for over a decade as I developed a dairy allergy many years ago. This took me back to my childhood and made my heart and taste buds really smile. I also got a passion fruit tart to which really missed the mark. The passion fruit taste artificial and it was overall a "clawing-type" over sweetness. I will definitely be back for another tres leches cake and I want to try the tiramisu as well; I saw a tiramisu cake that was dairy free but the bakery is quite pricey so I gave myself a one cake at a time maximum. The cashier and guy in the back were really sweet and helpful. These kinda of places make GF more tolerable, however much it takes a chunk out of your wallet. read more

I have beenn wanting to get croquetas from this place since last year. After being diagnosed with a stomach issue, I had to look for some gluten free options and found Doras. After a long transitional period in my life and a dear friend bringing me some croquetas, I finally got a taste !!! They are delicious ! Everything the hype waS about for this place, it lives up to it. My only issue with the croquetas from this place in particular is that they are extremely burnt. I am not used to a dark burnt taste in my croquetas but if you take off the outside layer, doent taste like burnt. My friend also got the guava rolls and he lOved it. We tried 5 pastries and they were all SUPER sweet. Like ridiculously sweet. The worst offender was the chocolate covered Oreo which had an incredibly thick layer of chocolate that drowned out the Oreo and just felt like a sugar bomb in your mouth. The "best" pastry we had was the orange loaf. Although it has way too much icing that overpowers the whole thing and is super sweet, once you remove that, you have a decent bread. Other things we tried: - cookie with oreo pieces: Underbaked and too sweet - brownie: not a real brownie, more like a chewy piece of fudge. Too sweet - cupcake with cookie pieces: an insane amount of SUPER sweet frosting. Can't taste anything except sugar. Really disappointed not gonna lie. My friend and I wandered into Doras looking for something warm and savory. We each ordered a latte, quiche, and a dessert to split. Coffee: It was Nespresso. I shouldn't have to say more but I will. First, this is an establishment how is there no real coffee maker. Dora's is also a cafe! What cafe doesn't have real coffee!? And in MIAMI!!??!! Baffled. I drank my Nespresso latte but I didn't love it. Quiches: they were very tasty. We had the caramelized onion and the date/chorizo. My only complaint is the size, they are small. I'd rather a full slice than a shallow mini. Croqueta: we asked for ham and received spinach. My friend enjoyed it, I didn't--the spinach didn't taste seasoned and gave me previously frozen vibes. I thought it was just natural juice and cbd but found it had honey in it. Won't reorder just because I'm avoiding sugars. Take with a grain of salt because I'm a coffee snob but the coffee seemed over brewed. It was very bitter. I wouldn't reorder but I am fussy with my coffee. I would like to revisit this place. I was really excited to get the $71 cake I ordered for my Moms 60th birthday 4 weeks in advance. I've been buying gluten free birthday cakes for her for years but we recently moved to Miami so I had to find a new GF bakery. Unfortunately the cakes texture and taste was as if it was uncooked. Very wet and grainy and it was red velvet but the color was more brown than red and the flavor of it was just not red velvet and not very good. The frosting was about the only thing that i could eat. No one else at the table could eat more than a bite or two. This cake could not be called a cake at all if I'm Being honest...it didn't even taste like It was baked. If they were going for a flourless style cake it was more in this category...but still very very bad and mushy and the texture of raw cake batter. Like I said, of the 8 people eating the cake, no one took more than 1-2 bites each. The rest of the entire thing went in the garbage. I Can't speak for their other products but please don't waste 71$ on their cakes. read more

The best bakery in Miami! They just came out with the first 100% gluten free burger in all of Miami and all I can say is.. WOW. So tasty and filling. Their croquetas are probably my favorite thing on the menu... made with jamón serrano, parsley, onions, and their homemade breadcrumbs! Their alfabrownies are to DIE FOR; dulce de leche in the middle of two fudge brownies coated with with chocolate ganache. I went to this restaurant with very high expectations based on the rest of the reviews I saw on here. I was extremely disappointed- we ordered a burger, a sandwich, a ham croquette, a spinach croquette, a guava empanada, an aflabrownie, and an individual frozen key lime pie since they didn't have any fresh ones available. Not only was everything extremely overpriced, the flavors were not good. Honestly below average. The bread is good but the actual dishes are not. For example, the burger didn't taste well. The meat was undercooked and the sauce was flavorless. Cheese was mid. The croquettes are not worth ordering since they were pretty flavorless and with almost no ham at all, although they had a nice crunch. The empanada was probably the best thing we got, but could use better cheese. The brownie alfajor had a huge white chocolate layer that made it hard to eat and waaaay too sweet. The sandwich was ok but too small for the price and not better than anything you can make yourself at home. The key like pie was also just ok after thawing. Overall, I left feeling sad and disappointed. Definitely not worth the money. Also, not a great place to eat at, it's more to go. Space is very limited, and the food takes long to be served.
