Went for the market not the deli - Loved this small meat market. It has a deli inside so next time I will grab a bite or get a drink during happy hour. I came in for the Guetta sausage. Get some if you have never had it. Service was fast friendly and excellent and they had lots more than I was looking for. Sandwich review: we've been to Lehr's for meat and alcohol in the past and have been very pleased. This Sunday was the first time we've tried the deli. We ordered three sandwiches: the OTR (roast beef, subbed Swiss for the Muenster), the Rosie Red (focaccia with tomato and buffalo mozzarella) and the Clooney Panini (ham and cheese). They were all really really good and their menu is much more descriptive than me. They are on the pricier end but good quality and taste -- they come with a side (chips) and a mini taste of a salad (today's was a tex-mex-y tasting bean salad). It was busy at lunch time on Sunday, and we waited a good bit for our order to be ready. Took them home and devoured them. Delish! They have a bunch of other things in the store as well. We'll definitely be back for sandwiches now that we've tried it. Plenty of parking on premises and staff were very friendly. I'm honestly deeply saddened to write this review, but I do so hoping it will help others. I've been a long time regular customer of Lehr's. In fact, growing up in Milford I've been going there since I was a kid, and between my wife and other family, we've been nearly weekly customers for the last few years. Unfortunately due to what I'm terming as "questionable" business practices and horrid customer service, we will not be going back. Today I was in and ordered a 3-3.5 lb tenderloin roast. I was asked if I wanted that "finished" weight, as in cut trimmed and ready for the grill. Which was exactly what I wanted. So I agreed. The butcher, who I'd unfortunately had unpleasant experiences with before, never said a thing about options or prices and went to work cutting, as I was excitedly looking at rubs to try on my phone. However, I was quite shocked and taken aback when he presented me with a large bag, which I realized noted over 6.5 lbs of meat at over $200. I went back to the counter where I questioned the situation, and was told, "that's how we do it." The loin was over 7lb and had to be cut, trimmed etc. So what I was presented was the 3-3.5 lb roast I'd requested and the rest in ground tenderloin around 3 lbs. I began to complain that wasn't at all what I'd ordered, as I never ordered 3 lbs of ground tenderloin. I was then presented another option. To purchase the 3.5 lb roast I'd asked for, but at nearly one and a half times the cost per lb. So my choice was 6.6 lb at $211 or 3.5 lb at $165.. Feeling confused and disappointed with why none of this had been explained to me when I ordered. I took the full 6.6 lbs to the counter to checkout. I'd ordered the roast cut, and decided I'd pay for it since the butcher already chopped it up. However, I decided I did want to let the owner/manager know of my issue/concern with how the whole transaction felt. I felt taken advantage of, and frankly a little disgusted the options and pricing had never been made clear at the time I was standing there ordering. Unfortunately upon making my complaint to the owner/manager, I felt the situation only got exponentially worse. All I wanted was for her to understand and acknowledge that as a customer I should have been told the options up front. She only wanted to tell me that over "90% of our regulars know that's how we do business". Well.. First, I WAS a near weekly regular, and had no idea of any policy that would have the butcher charging a customer for meat they didn't order, or give them what they actually ordered, but at a higher price, and only if a complaint is raised? And second, what about non-regulars. Shouldn't the prices and options be made clear to all customers with every transaction, so that everyone knows exactly what they'll be paying for? She felt her staff "did everything right" in presenting me the options after I was already upset and complaining. In her words "trying to make it right." By this time I understood the options, I was in the process of paying for the butchered meat, and was just trying to let her know I didn't like not being told the options and pricing up front when I was ordering. It was then, that one of the Butcher's got involved, and started yelling at me about a prior issue I'd had with the shop involving a turkey from Thanksgiving 2024, which had nothing to do with my current purchase of beef in July 2025. After leaving, I called the owner back to let her know I'd walked out as I didn't want to carry on with her associate yelling about a thanksgiving turkey in the middle of her establishment, at the end of July. However, it was quickly painfully clear she was taking the side of her employees, felt they did nothing wrong in yelling at a customer about an issue from months ago, and did not feel they needed to be upfront about the pricing and options at the time of ordering, as they'd presented the options after complaint was raised. So, I'm left now believing this must be the way they conduct their business. The long and short.. if you chose to do business with this company, I'd make VERY sure you understand what your ordering, they likely will not explain options or pricing, and may have you paying far more than you ever intended. My advice, don't waste your money! After thousands of dollars and over 50 years, we won't be going back, and neither will any of our family or friends. read more

Bought some chicken salad yesterday at like $10.50 a pound got it home and most of it was mushy mayo and the few pieces of chicken had the consistency of ground up overcooked hockey pucks tough and almost crunchy. I went there today with a $50 dollar Lehr's gift card. The card was agift for Christmas, 2 years ago. The manager I spoke to insisted that my gift card was older than that. Which was not true. That was a lie. They also said they switched companies that handle gift card payments, and all gift cards purchased before they switched companies were deleted. They have no records. Wait. What???? That makes zero sense. The manager went on to say that they posted a note about changing companies and showed me small notice on the wall. A notice that would be easy to miss. In any case, a small notice doesn't give them the license to take our money. The young man then said he has no way of knowing if I used my card already. How insulting! Are you kidding me? How dare he. Obviously he is in great need of customer relation skills. Bottom line is that they refused to honor my $50 gift card. Very, very very bad business practice. Unethical. Gift cards are purchased with good faith. How much cash did Lehr's reap while robbing their guests. I regret that I followed through on my purchase. I should have left my groceries on the counter and walked out. read more

Nice family owned carry out type place. Has a craft beer selection and seating inside and outside to just enjoy the small town of old Milford. The meat and deli selection is very good and the deli food is made daily. They have a limited liquor store inside as well. They also have a nice selection of hard to find condiments, sauces and crackers. It's a little pricey but we were very impressed with the food and quality we received. The staff is always friendly and super helpful at the deli and meat counter. read more

Thank you Verizon UP rewards for giving me a coupon so that I finally made it to this great spot! I came in to try out some of their prime sandwiches and was truly impressed with how much is inside! I first approached the deli counter and was promptly greeted by multiple people. While I was looking at the menu, everyone was eager to offer their recommendations. For the first sandwich I ordered the Bootsy Collins - a hot panini like sandwich with their signature meatloaf, cheddar, onions on rye. Cool yummy take on a patty melt. The next sandwich was the Rosie Red - tomato, mozz, basil, and balsamic all on the best focaccia ever. Finally the piece de resistance, the Carew Tower- a double decker packed with pesto mayo, turkey, ham, bacon, tomato, cheddar, swiss, and mixed greens. Wow this thing was HUGE! While I had the Bootsy, I sampled all of the above and they were amazing. Very high quality ingredients and generous portions went into each one. Beyond the sandwiches they of course have high quality meats, seafood, poultry (amish turkeys at holidays), and many prepared items. There is a freezer case full of frozen take home meals, soups, sausages and more. There is coffee labeled just for them, a small produce section, and several deserts. I am sure I am missing something because so much is here! This place is not only a great deli, but also a liquor store. They have beer, wine, and spirits. There are about 12 craft beers on tap that can be enjoyed at the indoor tables, or outside on the large patio. There is a TV, and I believe they have live music sometimes. What a very cool deli. Friendly service and I was impressed with the variety, for a small locally-owned shop. The prepared foods all looked awesome, and they were kind enough to give my cousin and I a sample of the lasagna soup. We just popped in to get some ginger beer to make cocktails, but all of the other delights were tempting me. 11/26/2021. Visited with wife and daughter-in-law who lives near by and seems to be a regular customer. We love these small family owned markets. Regrettably, where we live in Fl there's nothing similar. They have a great selection premium wines and spirits (surprising for a small market). The produce was fresh and obviously quality. The meats were also high quality and reasonably priced. The service was spectacular. It's obvious they care about their customers. This is where I would buy meats, produce, wine and spirits if I lived in the area. I'd go to Kroger just down the road only for canned stuff, etc. read more

Three of us went at noon Friday during Lent. I had the Haddock platter for $15. It came with three large hush puppies and Cole slaw. It was a nice plank of breaded fish. Cole slaw and sweet hush puppy was fine. One had the Rubin-like sandwich with chips. He thought it was fine but not worth the cost of around 12 dollars. One got a child cheese sandwich and fries for $8. He thought it wasn't great cheese and too expensive. Comfort is not a priority since it's got constant traffic for other products. Hadn't seen any reviews, just happened to drive past yesterday and saw their sign and turned in. This is sort-of like a boutique deli. High quality foodstuffs, house made sausages and bratwursts. A range of deli salads. I was told by and employee(owner?) that they have three chefs that make their deli salads and take-home-and-heat meals to-go, as well as their catering dishes. Beyond their full-service deli and catering and take away meals, they have a full liquor store, decent wine selection, and decent beer selection. They have cold and room temp craft beers, and decent (not overwhelming) bomber 22oz bottle selection. I couldn't wait to go here after hearing about the duck fat hot dogs and then seeing the menu and other items available, so it was no big deal to make the 35 minute drive to get there. Unfortunately, that was my first and last time there. The man behind the counter was so rude, he acted like my mom and I were a total inconvenience to him by just asking simple questions. I ordered 2 meals and had reserved some other items, and by the way he acted I thought I was doing something wrong. No one in the store was friendly, spoke to us or tried to help us in any way. I regret spending almost $100 there because the food wasn't that great to me overall but I just figured I was overreacting to his behavior until my mom mentioned it and others I spoke to said they don't go there for that same reason. Deli sandwiches are 4 stars although the price in their website doesn't match the price in house. Service is 2 star. It seemed like I was inconveniencing them just ordering sandwiches. I came at 1050 and was told I'm just going to need to hold on since they don't open until 11:00. That should be reflected somewhere on the website. Took 25 minutes for 3 sandwiches. There was only 1 friendly employee in the place, working behind meat counter. I am rating this based on the Fish Fry special they have during Lent. First the place is really neat inside. Like going into a wine cellar with a top notch butchery. I will have to buy steaks there sometime because they look amazing! The fish fry was good. Large pieces of Haddock deep fried. The marble rye bun was over hard though and the lettuce a bit gummy under the tartar sauce but ditch the bun and the Fish was fine. A little pricey for a fish sandwich though $10.00! Overall, I would go again to shop this summer during grilling season, and they have a pub where you can get beer on tap and food. Hope this place is around for awhile. read more

This deli is great! High quality meats, sandwiches, local products, tons of wine and a good liquor selection! They are not over priced compared to other deli's I've been to, and are a staple in the Milford community. One of my favorite random things they offer is a seafood salad at the deli. The seafood in this are actually fresh! It's not just all mayo and shredded imitation crab - they use real ingredients for the most part. I wound up here after trying to eat lunch at a cafe which, as it turns out, is not open on Mondays. Little did I know, having to look somewhere else for lunch would be the best thing to happen to me today. I wandered in and grabbed one of their menus from the counter. I was asked by three different (very polite) employees if they could help me, while I drooled over every single incredible-sounding sandwich. Finally, I chose the OTR and OMG, it was well worth the $9 that I never imagined being willing to spend on a sandwich. I really wish I had taken a picture, but the sandwich was a monster. Piled high with roast beef and perfectly proportionate amounts of cheese, tomato, cucumber and horsey mayo. They completed my order with a small container of banana chips and craisins, which completely satisfied the sweet tooth I always seem to have after each meal.
