When I brought it back the next week to start work, I also brought them a spoiler, which they handled. However, the rust repair was not done. All they did was paint over the patch job that I did myself at home. I paid them to cut out my patch job and weld in new metal. But they didn't do that. No one responds to my emails. I called and I talked to the owner on the phone about it. He wrote down my phone number, said he'd talk to "the body shop guys" and call me back. That never happened either. I paid for a budget paint job. I got a budget paint job, but I also paid for body work that they didn't do. I got ripped off. If they wanted more money to do the whole job I hired them for, then first of all - communicate with me and tell me what's going on. Second, a higher bill would be crap because I shopped around and I have a written estimate for another shop for the same work. I mistakenly went with Colunga because the location was closer. If this is how they treat customers, no one should do business with Colunga Body and Paint.

Second, you know its going to cost and arm and a leg to look better. You know its going to be expensive and the outcome is uncertain. The only thing for certain is you want it to be over. So you get to Colunga's which you found on Yelp, and you see all these very cool cars in front, customized and painted like works of art. That makes you feel better because you think, wow these might actually be craftsman here. They are friendly, they look at everything and they give you an estimate. Of course it looks like a lot for a little bodywork, but that's how it goes. I did find they were more reasonable than any of the three other places I went to. Best is to drop off the car for a few days, don't try and rush them, you're only hurting yourself if you do. Wait as many days as they ask and show up and the car looks great, everything looks better than you hoped. I'm dropping off my second vehicle here because after their first job, there's no other place I'd take a car for repairs. I'm even having them do some other minor repairs just to make the car look "newer".

From the very beginning, they treated me like a person instead of just another insurance claim or dumb girl walking into a car shop. One thing that immediately stood out was that they actually asked me, "How perfect do you want this to look?" That might sound like a small question, but it wasn't. They took the time to explain my options instead of automatically pushing the most expensive repair possible, which I really appreciated. I have a 2015 and so it doesn't need to look fresh off the lot. Their estimate also came in **significantly** lower than another shop I visited, but at no point did it feel like they were cutting corners. The repair quality was excellent, and my Mazda looks fantastic again. What really earned this review, though, was the top notch customer service. When they noticed my Mazda emblem had cracked, they replaced it for me. During the conversation I jokingly mentioned making it pink... and they actually custom did it. It's such a fun little personal touch that makes me smile every time I walk up to my car. Most body shops fix your vehicle and send you on your way. Nova managed to fix my car and make the experience pain free and memorable. Nobody wants to spend $$$ on body work, but if you have to, it's nice knowing you're working with people who are honest, communicate well, and genuinely care about their customers. Hopefully I won't need another body shop anytime soon... but if I do, Nova will absolutely be my first call.

I'm so glad I went! When I pulled in, he told me to pull in front of the garage and his older man comes out and just starts working on my car! I didn't even send them any photos or anything! They fixed it for free! Zero dollars! Who does that! I tried to give them a good tip and they wouldn't even accept it. These are the people that deserve it most! They just genuinely wanted to help. They will have all of my business and all my family's business moving forward! Plus, besides losing all that money I don't have to worry about sending in my car for over a week!
