However, it is extremely frustrating that after discussing the special with the waitress and double checking the sign at the front to learn at bill time it was not a special at all. We would have all ordered what we wanted if we had known this. You would think the waitress would just correct us and we would have no problem. English seemed to be understood just fine. Just tell us and we would have been happy. It's just shady. The sign just had an L Burrito Asada. I was thinking Large apparently Lunch. Be careful. They will charge more than the stated menu prices. When I questioned the discrepancy, Edgar - the waiter - immediately became defensive and stated that I WAS charged the correct prices. I went to get a menu and showed him the prices. He became really agitated and was exhaling deeply over and over. He was carrying on and I couldn't believe how unprofessional he was acting. Los Aztecas is a small chain in the Louisville area, so if you've eaten at, say, the Herr Lane location, then you'll recognize the menu, service, and even some of the staff. The food is consistently excellent and comes out promptly. It's reasonably priced and comes in good sized portions. I visited this location because I was in this part of the county, but I found it to be just as good as my neighborhood location. Manuel, thank you so very much for your generous donation of lunch last Friday for 50 people at our annual Reality Store event at North Oldham High School (NOHS). The NOHS PTSA sponsors this event for the junior class every year and it takes many volunteers to support the all-day effort. Our volunteers and the PTSA Executive Board greatly appreciate your generosity by providing us a wonderful meal to sustain us for the day. The fajitas are my personal favorite at Los Aztecas and I know the rest of our volunteers enjoyed this tasty dish. Maria, thanks to you and the cooking staff for seeing this through and making sure that the restaurant in Prospect took good care of us. Guess it's time to write a review for this place so I will be the first to say this place has good Mexican food at a good price. The food here is always hot and I haven't had too many mistakes. But I can say that those mistakes where because of the wait staff. NOW the wait staff here is very good I know that contradicts what I said but the staff is very friendly and most of the staff is good at taking your order. There is a younger lady however that has served me that didn't speak English so it was kind of hard to order or get those orders correct. The best part about it was I always went for lunch and my boss spoke very Spanish and she always tried to correct him. He was being polite in telling her in Spanish considering she didn't understand English. Besides this one server everything about this place was great. I have tried pretty much everything they offer and there hasn't been anything on the menu that I just wouldn't order again. There chips and sales are made fresh every day and are free with you meal. Their lunch prices are very reasonable and they are very quick to get you in and out because most people on their lunch breaks have a time crunch. It used to be good. Now it is just overpriced and they rush you out if they are busy in order to get more people in the door. Bad form. I don't know what happened to the flavors of the food. Like I said, it used to be good. I hope they take a look at this but I doubt they will since it is one of the few places to go eat in our little area and therefore they are always busy. My family has enjoyed take out here especially the fajita nachos. Today when we got home we found that they did not make the order correctly. No big deal it happens. However when we called to inform them of the mistake and asked to be credited on our next order they refused to take the incorrect items off of the bill. Horrible service. Took our waitresses 25 minutes to bring us a pitcher of margaritas. Then the manager ( I'm assuming) tried twice to serve us food we did not order. This place was a pleasant surprise after my experience with the downtown location. The prices are so high down there. This location is more reasonably priced. The food was generally good and fresh. It's pretty predictable typical tex mex fare, but it's not a bad option. My primary complaint was the service. The restaurant was less than one quarter full and there were staff everywhere. Went to this restaurant because I was trying to find some good Mexican food around my town. I went here and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Maybe it wasn't a busy time but they had no other customers. Everyone in there was friendly and our food came relatively fast. But what I am coming to realize is that most Mexican restaurants in Kentucky put this cheese sauce over your burritos and nachos and I'm not a big fan of it. It tastes kind of fake. It takes about 5 minutes to get your food , which normally would be great but when it obviously has been sitting already cooked up on the back makes you think a bit. They used to have the warmest tortilla chips and the absolute best salsa of anyone else. Now the salsa does not have onion or cilantro on it only ground pepper( puréed tomatoes and pepper). Wanted to give 5 stars for the food and 2 for the service. The newly remodeled restaurant just reopened and it is very nice, clean, tastefully decorated and great new menu. The front door sign states that there is free wi-fi, but the waiter barely spoke English (we were the lone customers at 3:30 pm) and didn't know the password and didn't offer to find out. We had to seek out the waiter to get our check. He did check with us midway through our meal. The chicken soup was outstanding, full of chicken, avocado and veggies with thin tortilla strips on the side. We loved the hot salsa but didn't try the mild salsa. Better training of your wait staff would be greatly appreciated. We will visit again. read more
