My husband and I went there for dinner. We ordered cheese enchiladas. When order came to the table, it was beef enchiladas. We told our waitress, and her flat reply was she had wrote beef. We then asked for onions. The food was cold except for the chips. When the check was brought to the table, we noticed we were charged 75 cents for the onions. read more

Dos Charros is our go-to Tex-Mex restaurant when we crave something tasty. We know we will receive dependable food with the flavours we are craving. I have a tendency of ordering their #3 lunch/dinner because it does not have rice and beans, which are just carb-loaded fillers. I also like their two fish specials they offer on their board periodically. We are never disappointed by their food! Their guacamole is cold and keeps fresh in the fridge for days after we do carry-out. Their salsa varies from mild to spicy from day to day but it is always tasty. The chips have no salt on them so hit them with the salt shaker while they are still warm and they compliment the salsa's spiciness. We love their chili con carne and sour cream sauces on enchiladas and tamales. They have vegetarian offerings, too, like their yummy spinach enchiladas. I especially love their vegetables-a mix of zucchini, yellow squash, red onions, and corn, covered in tasty cheese. I could eat a plate of those vegetables and be happy. They are good at making sure their plates have foods that mix into one delicious flavour profile. I suspect COVID has caused some kitchen staff issues lately, but we still get the consistent food we always expect and receive. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5...this is Texas so we have to be a tough audience as far as Tex-Mex goes right? This place is my favorite close to home, hole in the wall Mexican food around. I can't remember the name of the entree I always get that is cheese enchiladas topped with pico de gallo and sliced chicken fajita meat but it is AWESOME! I've had a few other menu options and so has my wife and they've never disapoointed. Not to mention very nice staff, prompt service and solid chips & salsa. Dos Charros is not in the nicest location...given that it is off to the side of a larger complex but I LOVE the food here. Every meal I've eaten here is always prepared fast and the service is very decent even though their turn-over rate is somewhat moderate. read more

Went twice now. Service was fast and well coordinated. Enchiladas are just the right balance of well-seasoned filling, tortilla and cheese. Had chile gravy both times-delicious! Tacos are really good. Salsa, refried beans, guacamole are good. Rice is ok. Wife had grilled red snapper the first night and said it was excellent. Place could use a little makeover. I was amazed at the food though. The Sunday Buffett was awesome! And at a steal of a price you get all you can eat including dessert. The food was consistently fresh as the waitresses brought out new hot plates every 15-20 minutes. They had the typical Mexican fare such as six types of enchiladas, flautas, shrimp, quesadillas, etc. The desserts were sopapillas, flan and a delicious chocolate mousse with a hint of cinnamon I think. They even had a live guitarist there too. The waiter we had was a hoot. He was dancing to the Elvis songs played by the guitarist, as he was coming in and out of the kitchen. Love the avocado and spinach enchiladas platter! I forgot the order number on the menu, but it's easy to find on the menu. I'm not a full vegetarian (60% of the time), but Dos Charros serves the best vegetarian enchiladas. They serve meat dishes too, and the Big Burritos are tempting! I tried the avocado and spinach enchiladas because they seemed interesting, and they were delicious. The avocado enchilada had a nice flavor with mild spices. The spinach enchilada was made with fresh spinach and spices. Of course, the cheese topping on both enchiladas made the enchiladas super delicious. You must try their apple cobbler/pie with ice cream. I did not know I could order one at a Tex Mex restaurant. Hey, they add vodka! I'm going back to try the burrito with chicken and spicy cheese sauce on my day of being non-vegetarian (40%). The service is also great. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. My sons took me to this restaurant for the Sunday Brunch Buffet - only $9.95. I have eaten here before for lunch several times but never the buffet. I am used to buffets having lived in Las Vegas, and I must say this was soooo good in all ways. We had a reservation for Mother's Day and were seated as soon as we arrived, not even a minute's wait. The food was fresh, eye appealing and delicious. The buffet was constantly being replenished and you never ran out of anything. No wait for table service, the server was attentive, polite and all around excellent. The food was freshly prepared and attention to detail was terrific. They even had a live band that played just loud enough where table conversation was not drowned out. All in all I give them an A+ and will be back for their buffets and their menu items in the future. read more

I eat here at least once a week (sometimes twice). All the servers are friendly and very efficient. When we sit down, salsa and chips are brought immediately and someone comes to take our drink order. I absolutely love the guacamole enchiladas with the wonderful red sauce and the sour cream chicken enchiladas are wonderful, too!
