Ordered nachos to go with no beans. Got nachos that were only beans. And no napkins. Be ESL aware, apparently.

When I arrived, I thought it was going to be an authentic Mexican restaurant. The decor and scenery were very spot on. As we looked through the menu, I was surprised at the variety. It was mostly fajita styled dishes. No variety of tacos or authentic Mexican food. When my food arrived I almost wanted to leave. The dish I had ordered had a tostada, a Guadalajara, an enchilada, and a Chile relleno. The tostada was nothing but a tostada with nacho cheese. The Guadalajara was that plus beans and "guacamole." The Chile relleno a cheese overload... the whole plate was. This place is really far from being a Mexican restaurant. The service was pretty bad too. They seemed to not have communication with each other and our server only checked on us once, when he delivered our food. This was our first and last time being here. read more

I grew up coming here and it has always been amazing. Since I live out of town, I don't get good Mexican food ansnymore because nothing compares to this place. I have to come here each time I visit my parents. I don't understand the negative reviews. I'm assuming those people consider places like On The Boarder and Abuelos to be good Mexican food. While those places are good, theyre chains and you can tell. If you want good authentic Tex-Mex then come here. I have never had something gross here. We know the people who own it and the queso is not made from a can. My boyfriend, who grew up eating home cooked Mexican food(which his mom learned in actual Mexico)even liked this place. The portabella mushroom fajitas are the best. If you want somehing more tex mex, go for the cheese enchaladas. read more

I love Dos Compadres! One of my 2 favorite mexican restaurants in Midland. My family and I have been going there since 2006 when I first moved here. Love the chips and salsa. The staff is friendly, food comes out fast usually! Even when I've had to wait it's been worth it. read more

Super quick service. Food was very good. Queso was good. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was certainly far from the worst. We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday night, and we were seated immediately. Restaurant got busier after we arrived. Will become a regular on our list of restaurants to eat at. read more

I came to visit my friends in Midland and we came here for dinner. Service was OK, but the appetizers that came with my dinner were awful. The guacamole bowl made out of a corn tortilla was stale as well as the flat queso tortilla. The salsa that came with the chips was good, but my enchiladas were mediocre at best. I read the reviews on Yelp when searching for a new place to eat. Decided to try it out tonight. You can't go wrong at Dos Compadres. Everything was excellent, including the service. The chips and salsa were the best I've had since moving to west Texas. My husband and I tried different plates and we found nothing to complain about. You have to try their sopapillas! read more

I will never go there again. Tried to place an order on the phone. Someone just picked up the phone and set it down, possibly so that it wouldn't ring again. After a few minutes I figured out that they weren't ever going to speak with me or take my order. So I went in person to place my order to go. One fajita nachos, one queso, one guacamole. It took 20 minutes for them to take my order at the counter. I paid right then. Only 30 minutes later they finally handed me an order. But it had red sauce rather than guacamole. When I pointed it out the girl took the red sauce and dipped some guacamole & put in the bag. I carefully carried my order out. .........when I got out the food I discovered that I had some nachos, but not fajita nachos. No napkins, no plastic utensils. After having spent an hour in the noisy place I didn't want the other nachos nearly as badly as I just wanted.... never to go back there again. read more

Wonderful food and good pricing. The sweet tea, fajitas, and hamburgers are the best! Ask for Zoila and she'll make you feel like your eating at home with your family! They also have great seafood. Their fried catfish has a lite breading that tastes great! They have a small banquet room that can be used for private parties or meetings. They have free wifi. read more
