I''ve been to several Mexican restaurants in Midland, and honestly, most of them have been disappointing--poor service and food that just didn't feel authentic. This place completely changed that for me. I finally decided to give it a try and absolutely loved it. I sat at the bar, and the bartender--a young Hispanic guy with a nose piercing--was super friendly and welcoming. He made me an Old Fashioned, but his own Hispanic-style twist on it, and it was amazing. For food, I ordered the discada, and let me tell you, it's enough to feed at least four people. A huge mix of different meats, all packed with flavor. I also had chips and queso, and the queso was delicious--perfectly creamy and addictive. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the food was exactly what I've been searching for. I would come back here a million times over any other Mexican restaurant in Midland. Tried this for the first time and all the food was good. We got 3 types of tacos and all agreed they were good. They have a salsa bar with lots of different choices. We got queso fundido which was fine. I think if they had better corn tortillas it would have helped. The flour tortillas were so good. read more

We tried this place for the first time tonight and the food was great! Let me say that as a gringo the menu was a bit intimidating and there were dishes we are not used to seeing, but everything was great. I went to the "salsa bar" and got 4 items that looked interesting and they were all good, one of them lit me on fire. The queso was very good (we will have to try the queso fundido). My wife got shrimp tacos and I got the Fortichon. I would recommend both. My wife said the margaritas on the rocks were good and my beer was cold. Our service was very good, despite the language barrier.... We made it work with a smile! The tab was on the upper end with drinks, queso, and entrees for 2 being over $100. Food was good but service was lacking. Waitress was either totally unaware of needing to check on her tables she had or just cared more about her largest table she was assigned to in the restaurant. Either way we were only checked on once after I had grabbed her attention 30 minutes into us not getting our order (for 2 people). I had to stop her to ask about our order. In that 30 mins of waiting no one stopped by reassure us the order was on the way or if the. Also, not sure if chips are offered or not but we were never asked if we'd like any. This is definitely not a spot to visit if you're on an hour long lunch break. Her other smaller guest tables nearby us were also not being tended to. My rating is really 3.5 stars. Walking in the inside is bright and colorful which was nice. The music is loud enough to enjoy but also be able to have a conversation. The service was good and waitress was attentive despite having multiple tables to take care of. Their salsa bar is nice to try different salsas and really enjoyed the pineapple and red smoked salsa. The food was different from other places. It wasn't generic Mexican dishes. The portions were generous for the price and I had some leftovers to take home. The flour tortillas are big and a little on the thicker side but delicious. I really did like the blue corn tortillas too as they had a good flavor. The chopped beef meat was okay but for me needed a bit of salt. Once we added lime and a little salt it was even better. The pastor was good and didn't need any salt. I highly recommend it with the spicy pineapple salsa. I do plan on coming back and trying the brunch! Definitely something to check out if you're looking to try different Latin dishes. read more

Order the beef fajitas, I don't know what cut of meat that was , but definitely not skirt steak, and definitely not fresh , had a zing to it , and not in a good way , and was served with only one med size flour tortilla read more

food is barely ok and the service is absolutely horrible. The waitresses try but the management is the issue. The cooking staff also forgets at least one plate per table on every trip I've made to this place. Be warned...take your money and appetite somewhere else. read more
