I rarely eat out mostly because I can't afford it, but primarily because I like to cook. I don't how I got the knack for it, possibly from my grand dad, who worked in the old logging camps and Grand Coulee Dam. As a senior I tend to penny pinch so when I treated myself to Mexican Food which is one of my favorites I was pleasantly surprised at Dos Hermanos Mexican Kitchen. I assume Dos Hermanos means the Two Brothers Mexican Kitchen. I liked that I could get extra cilantro & the onions were crisp and fresh, as well the beef wasn't over cooked. I lived in Texas and they use hot sauce on every thing! I like just a little so my sweat isn't oozing out of all my pores. Great Burrito Supreme & under $10 bucks! read more

I've lived in Austin Texas for the last 25 years. I came to the PNW and viewed Mexican restaurants with suspicion. Not anymore. Freshly made margaritas, salsa, and quacamole.. This is a small business so I feel the reviews expecting the service level of a chain restaurant (Or the vegetarian options) are in no way shape or form a reflection of this place. Great margaritas, fresh tortillas. You can literally watch the owner's wife make the fresh corn tortillas as you place your order. We live in the eastside, and every time we are down south (usually to go to portland) we do everything in our power to eat here. (Something I think adds to the charm is there is a separate gelato shop right outside this restaurant that has really good and unique flavors which is an added treat.) read more

This place let us down. My girlfriend got the veggie tacos, which were really just black bean with the normal veggies that come on tacos. I got a burrito that had random spots of ingredients dispursed throughout it. I was surprised based on all the good reviews. There are a lot of options around town so won't be back anytime soon. Went for lunch on a recent Friday. There is no table service, you place your order and they call your number when you're food is ready. Would be nice if they gave you a receipt with your number on it. We ordered the carne asada and carnitas tacos. Both were very tasty but slightly bland and were barely above room temperature. I like my taco meat to be nice and hot. The avocado salsa, which you have to pay extra for, was delicious. I also ordered the carne asada super burrito. I've made it a tradition to stop at the best rated taco shop in every town I stop in for work (traveling all over the lower 48) and with the look of the building and rating for this business, I was deeply dissatisfied with the food and service. First off, the tacos had barely any meat on them, about half of what was expected for me to be paying greater than $3 per taco. Second, the chips and salsa were okay, but I wouldn't pay money for them... which is exactly what I had to do because they do charge about $4-5 for a very small container of what they call salsa, and a huge boat of chips, which were very bland, and had the consistency of cardboard. After two days of working 16+ hours, I was ecstatic for a margarita, and as they were "fresh made." So when I go to order, I order two tacos, some cups and salsa, and a margarita. $22 WAS MY TOTAL!! They wanted $10 for a ten punch margarita... out of all my time in this job I had never seen a business try to rip off the customers like this "restaurant." To put that in perspective, the best tacos I have ever had we packed full of flavor, great chips and salsa, and amazing margaritas, and for 3 tacos, chips and salsa, and a 20 oz marg, I paid $10 (and my top ten were all very similar). I will never come back to this "food" establishment , and I plead that no one else waste their money on such terrible food. read more

I think everyone really wants to love this restaurant. I skeptically read some of the negative reviews, but wanted to give them a shot. Same story, though -- overpriced for the value. We paid $64 + tip for chips, salsa & guac, a couple of happy-hour-priced margaritas, a bowl of black bean soup, the taco meal, and two more El Diablo margaritas. Then we were instructed to bus our own tables while one of the staff members (or maybe the owner) sat at a table chit-chatting with a patron. The food wasn't bad, but not particularly good, either. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food was fresh, truly delicious. One of the two brothers served us and couldn't have been more knowledgeable, gracious, and friendly. The sauces (hot sauce and tomato sauce on the smothered burrito) were simply excellent. We wished they had both sauces available in bottles we could buy to take home. Our first out to eat since pandemic started. It was a lovely experience. Comfortable eating area. Top notch service. Friendly, kind and quick. We had fish tacos and chili verde. Perfect portion sizes. And both meals delicious. The hibiscus margarita is a definite recommend. You order at the counter, pay and then find a table for them to bring your food out. You also grab your own water from pitcher in corner. For us this was zero problem. But only mentioning in case this is issue for you. But staff was so courteous I am sure they would bring it for you. I thought because this place had above 4 stars on here, it would be good. I was wrong. The menu was limited. The food was overpriced-- for two meals consisting of 3 tacos, beans from a can, and (terrible) rice it was over $40. I would be ok with the price, if the food was good... but honestly, there was a strange smell and I couldn't even get through one of the tacos without feeling sick. To add to the experience, the parking was awful, transient people were lingering all around, and the area didn't exactly feel safe. Do yourself a favor, and skip it. read more
