This is the best Mexican I've had in the Fort. The chips and salsa were really good, a bit of salt on the chips, great salsa. Chips were hot. I had the special--carnitas. My family ate here tonight and our steak was so nasty mind you if you know me I eat here all the time .. when I say we all literally left the table and we hardly ate ANYTHING! The manager + owner literally argued w/ us how the steak tasted (because they had it this morning) .. & people ate it all day w/o complaining besides us? What's that got to do w/ me? Usually if you don't like something can you not get something else? Nope, not with them .. they made us pay for what we ordered and didn't offer nothing else. They treated us so damn poorly & I still tipped the waiter because I knew it wasn't his fault after he tried to help us out the best HE could. I'm still in such disbelief because again I only order steak tacos from here and they treated us like straight shit. He basically said we were the only ones that complained about the steak & since there was a large order of steak tacos that was ordered and nobody else said anything about the steak. My wife and I went here for the first time. I had been looking for the kind of Mexican restaurant that is decorated with the carved and colorfully painted wall sculptures and chairs. This is the first one that I found that had that in Fort Wayne, it also has several Mayan/Aztec sculptures. The menu is very similar to other Mexican restaurants that cater to American tastes, but it also has a section in the menu for authentic Mexican food. On special today was flavored 20oz Margaritas, so I had a mango margarita and it was fantastic. My Chimichanga De La Casa, and my wife's Vegetable Quesadilla both were great. I can't believe everyone likes this place. I grew up in California and live in Texas so I KNOW good Mexican food. This is NOT it. For starters the salsa is terrible. No heat to it at all and it's all watery. I'm pretty sure they use a canned tomato sauce. Chips are unsalted and bland. But free. They have a very extensive drink menu and cheap specials on booze. That's a plus if you're looking to get your gallon of beer. I ordered a for sure winner. Carne asada burrito. More like crappy asada burrito. The meat was terribly full of gristle and fat. And it wasn't seasoned! If you're going to serve me gross meat can you make an attempt at marinating it? Plus there was a weird white "cheese sauce" over the top of it. It didnt taste like any cheese ive ever had. The Burrito came with rice and beans. The rice was mushy and overcooked. The beans were the highlight of the plate. They were very good. I ate all of them. All in all I probably ate about half of my burrito. It's much more than I would have normally tried but I was really hungry and kept hoping it would taste better.....which it didnt. Now to be honest ive been writing this review at the table. Im listening to the strange Mexican opera and watching the owner/manager walk up and down the hall. I am still sitting at the table. I'm by myself and no one has come to check on me. I'm planning on getting the fried ice cream because how can you screw that up? Oh wow. The waitress came just now. Time alone at the table=10 minutes with plate pushed away. She's asked if I wanted a box. I should have told her to try it and see if she would want a box of yuck to take home. Wow. Fried ice cream is a winner. No Mr. Manager owner man I do not want a box for my burrito. I will however scarf the heck out of this ice cream. Update: the service really is abysmal. People walk right past you while you practically wave and they keep on going. My server was a young girl and very sweet. I'll tip her well. She's not the chef. read more

This place is a joke! The restaurant was not busy but the service was as if there was a line waiting outside to get in..which there was NOT! Our waiter Cesar, had to come back and ask us to confirm our order twice after walking away and writing it down the first time. The service was extremely SLOW! We waited for an extended period of time for food. When it was served a person in our party ordered fajitas and side of roasted peppers. He got the fajitas but NO tortillas and NO peppers that should have come with the order. He also had to ask for water repeatedly! After waiting for the tortillas for longer than you should ever wait for a tortilla at a Mexican restaurant, we searched for a Manager. Once Marco the Mgr finally came to table, we told him what happened he was very short. Said he would reheat it. When we asked for a free or discounted meal he said, "no, we don't do that." We didn't have them reheat it for fear it would take another 15 minutes. Everyone was almost done eating. So we try to finish up and low and behold a brand new skillet of fajitas comes to the table. Who knew? Not us because the less than friendly Mgr didn't even tell us they would replace it! The WORST part of this horrible experience was going to take a 5 yr old to the women's Restroom and it was FILTHY! THERE WAS $HIT ON THE FLOOR! This used to be the best Mexican ever! We went there last week. Had horrible service! #1 reason we will NOT be returning is cause of their disgusting women's restroom. It was filthy, smelled of mold, broken toilet seats, broken doors, no paper towels. I can't believe the board of health let's them operate! The food was simply wonderful here! I got tacos de pollo and, oh boy, if my stomach was big enough I would've eaten 5 more! Their salsa is not spicy at all (which I prefer...I know, I'm white) but it was still very flavorful. I'm a sucker for cilantro and that delicious herb was all over. I'll be dreaming of their beautiful use of cilantro all night . They had a live musician going around playing lovely music. All around, great place. Fast service as well! Just be wary, it's very busy, bright, and colorful. If you have family members or children sensitive to environments where they can have sensory overload, I'd be a little careful here. We ordered the fruit margarita and it was mostly ice. Service was prompt but very business like, not overly friendly. Fahitas were flavorful, but filled with bitter green peppers. Our salad plate for the fahitas was great except that only one of us got maybe a Tablespoon of Guacamole and the other had none. Chips were warm and the salsa was good. Their food tastes good, the drinks are average, but do not hire them for catering an event. Even though they had set up the day before, they showed up 2 hrs late and didn't have the bar open in time for the cocktail hour. Then they didn't have the alcohols we had discussed beforehand. Went here last night with my daughter, girl friend and brother. We didnt get chips and salsa for about 15min. Girlfriend wasnt asked by the waiter what she wanted to drink. I was given shrimp for my quesadilla when thats not what I asked for and my daughter asked for tenders, instead she recieved 3 nuggets and some fries thrown on top of it. Went there on Cinco de Mayo and I understand that it was busy since we waited over a hour for a table we ordered margaritas that was supposed to be frozen but they was all melted so my table sent them back meanwhile everyone had gotten their food and still hadn't gotten anything no food no margarita and my table was almost done. I asked the owner if he could check on my food and drink and instead he was so disrespectful telling me my table was the only one complaining and the whole table was not allowed to get a drink.. We ordered delivery from Dos Margaritas last night (during COVID-19) and were very pleased! They brought complimentary chips and salsa, and the delivery was very prompt. First time trying this restaurant. There were 10 in our party, so a big variety of drinks and food were ordered. We were seated in the bar, and our server was no nonsense, and not super friendly, but he was a good server. Every order was correct. We all loved the queso with ground beef. No one was disappointed in their food order, either. Not really sure why some reviewers thought the chips and salsa was not good. For crying out loud, they are chips! Our group put away 5 or 6 baskets of them, so we obviously found them tasty. Some in our group are vegan and they thought it was great too. The atmosphere is colorful, and cheery. What a struggle that dinner was. Though the service is what really sunk the ship, the food didn't even attempt to make up for it. The main staple of any American-Mexican place is the chips and salsa. However this salsa would be better called garlic sauce and the chips were nothing special. The Margaritas were average, a little more expensive than their competitors though. The main courses were alright overall- while the chimichanga tasted fine, it really was missing that deep fried guilty pleasure that you feel about consuming said monstrosity. Now for the service, it took 30 minutes to put in our order after our waiter greeted us and brought the chips. We never got the queso we ordered or water refills (even with multiple times asking). Then when the check came it was all sorts of messed up. It all started with us trying to be good people and noticing that our bill was missing 1/3 of our food, which lead to a spiral of a ton of cc charges (hopefully all voided) and another 30 minutes of trying to pay for only what we order. Worst service ever. We are very patient people, there was NO excuse for what happened this evening. Prior notification of a party of ten. We were seated fine, two people ordered soup that NEVER came, two drinks that NEVER came and believe it or not, they have a $30 soup......really, I've been in 30 different countries and never seen a $30 watery soup. On Tuesday I treated my guy to dos Margarita , it was the best ever. From the chips & salsa to our main meals . We had the medium mango Margaritas with the Corona submerged inside . Trust me you can only handle one drink at a time . The food was hot and really good . Great portions and some to take home . I've been to this place many of time and will never get tired of it .. I love this place. Their food is amazing and the drinks are so delicious it is a sin. My cousin and I visit Dos Margaritas often because I just cannot get enough of their food. Also, they make some of the best queso I have ever had and their portion sizes are so large that you will more than likely ask for a container for your leftovers. There are times when they will have a Mariachi band playing and that is one evening you don't want to miss. All of the bands I have ever heard there were amazing. There was plenty of parking, the staff was great and I have always had a great experience there. read more

I ordered a Cinco de Margarita or something like that. Supposed to be strawberry and lime. Not that it wasn't, but it literally came from an icee machine you'd see at gas stations. We ordered table side guacamole that was bland, mushy and had zero spice. I might be biased because I'm from California where they have some of the best Mexican restaurants and guacamole/avocado, but this was bad no matter where you're from, I think. Even my Chicago, born and raised, boyfriend had to mix the guacamole with sour cream, salsa, and extra salt before he thought it was good. The ONLY reason I gave it two stars is because my boyfriend said the $15.99 Patron margarita we ordered was good. The service was mediocre, but nothing above and beyond. I have gone here once with a group of friends and we all felt sick immediately after and one of the friends got food poisoning the next day, so we assumed it to be from here. The servers are often poor, there is one that is PARTICULARLY bad to where we will ask to be not seated in her section. The worse dining experience I have ever had! Service was slow! Food service took forever! Had to repeatedly ask for drinks. When food was served one person in our party only received half of his meal. We had to ask for the rest of the meal. We waited for much longer than we should have for tortillas, especially at a Mexican restaurant. We asked for a Mgr. when he came to the table he didn't apologize for the service or missing food items. We asked for the meal to be comped. He said we don't do that here. Marco, Mgr, much to our surprise and at the end of meal brings another order. Never was that communicated to us. There was feces on the bathroom floor and a horrendous smell in the women's bathroom. Marco told us at the register that he had given us 20% off of our bill, which was not communicated and came as a surprise when they don't do that as he said. As we left Marco told one of our party that she was the rudest customer he has ever had. She was rude because she was simply requesting service, cleanliness and most of all a business and a manager who not only understands but exemplifies customer service. NONE of which Marco exhibited and to accuse someone of being rude when Marco was just as rude to his customers..I guess it takes one to know one! read more

This is my "go to" restaurant for Mexican food. The menu covers all the normal expressions of food you would expect. The portions are generous- we often make multiple meals from a serving. The atmosphere is always friendly and inviting. You will see the same hostesses and servers from visit to visit and they will come to say "hello" to you by name. I wish I could blame this slow service on a busy restaurant but nearly half the booths are empty. Will not be returning. We were not offered a refund or discount. We ended up having to leave and take our food to go because we were late for work. My friend ordered shrimp fajitas and got everything but the shrimp.
