The way people spoke about this place was that the food was the bees knees! It was average. Okay at best. I've had better pizza at an all you can eat buffet. That's not being mean but being honest. The pizza was lacking sauce, toppings and importantly flavor. Would I buy from here again...probably not. At least not until someone else can tell me otherwise and the food got better. Wait...the wings and sandwich was good. The wings could have been cooked a little longer because you know how that cartilage if not cooked all the way it's like trying to chew and chew to rip the chicken from the bones. I got a small Hawaiian just to try, and wow! It was honestly so good. This place is located inside of a convenience/liquor store, but don't let that throw you off. It's definitely worth checking out. The ingredients were fresh, the price was solid, and my order was ready pretty quickly. By the time I was done perusing the store and paying for my snacks, the pizza was ready. The staff was kind and welcoming. Customer service on point. They had a pretty expansive menu with tortas, tacos, s l u s h i e s, and more. Overall, I had a really good experience. Where do I begin? I've been coming to this little hidden gem for years with my grandfather. It's located inside the Eddys Liqour store but in this case let's not judge a book by it's cover. They're pizza is amazing. They're timeliness is amazing. You can have a Crunchy thin cheesy ooey goodness that will melt in your mouth with every bite in just 10 minutes or less. My grandfather and I would always order one of their ice cream cones while we waited for our pizza to be ready. It's sort of a tradition now so even though we can't come together anymore I still order my ice cream every time I wait. So the easiest way to sum up my experience here was how after my first piece I was already thinking "ok I'll definitely be eating here again." The price/quality ratio was super good. I paid $7.71 plus tax for a half cheese/half pepperoni large pizza. I would put this pizza the quality of most pizzas in like the $12-15 range. I dunno why I'm so fascinated with the price. I guess I'm just used to like 7-11, Little Caesars, even Domino's being in this price range and this pizza tasted so much better than any of those. But why? I think it was the crust and the balance of cheese to sauce. There wasn't much sauce at all but it was spot on for my taste. And the dough was a great sourdough and tasted fresh. This was one of my faves but the other day I tried to call in an order. But they told me the price had gone up. So at a $1.50 instead of a $1.25 no thanks. It was tuff at a $1.25 coming from a liquor stores taco but to raise the price is insane. And you didn't change anything just the same meat and onions and selontro. Hands down the best pizza spot ever. One slice is $1.10 -- such a steal right? They also sell .50 cents Shasta for your convenience or since it's connected with the liquor joint, you can also just buy another drink if you don't want Shasta. OK, so this is the sleeper review that I just HAD to write. In a place as unexpected as an Eddie's Liquor Market, we accidentally find ourselves at this corner pizza stand waiting for my car to be repaired. So my son and his friend order a burger and pizza. I however see that they have a special on tacos (5 tacos and a soda for $5.00). Keep in mind, this place is not for the fancy diner. It's a neighborhood spot and convenience/liquor store. I get my asada tacos which were filled with meat and they also have green and red salsa. When I sat down and tasted them, I almost died. These are the BEST tacos I have EVER eaten! The meat was so flavorful that you didn't even need to add the salsa. But because I like it caliente, I added the salsa. Lets just say I needed a straw and wanted to go back and buy a gallon and more tacos. I noticed lots of people from the neighborhood driving in an ordering so I asked what was good and they said everything. LOVE THIS PLACE AND RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE DRIVING DOWN LONG BEACH BLVD. It is just past the Best Western Hotel south of Anaheim Steet! I rate this 5 stars because ambience and fine dining was not part of the expectation.
