I did not want to write this review bc I've been going here for YEARS! However, there are a bunch of young folks in the kitchen that are not safely preparing food. Pizza was brought out undercooked, chicken wings also were questionable. The host was able to comp us $10 on the bill. But then, I realized also, prices were different than the advertised menu! I brought it up and the host corrected it, but still. If the prices change, menus should change too. People place tape on menus all the time to adjust prices with the fluctuating food market, bc menus are expensive to reprint -- constantly changing, etc. Not even 10 minutes after our visit, our stomachs were upset and we felt sick, luckily it didn't last TOO long. The host earlier had helped out by saying that he tries to let the kitchen know these things and help redirect how food is prepared, but they don't seem to be listening to him. Hope Big E gets on this, I would hate to see them have issues after an expensive (and COOL) remodel! read more

Big E has changed my mind about their service and pizza. My daughter and I decided to order pizza and since she and I haven't had Big E in quite a while we thought we'd give them a try. Placed our order over the phone. Before we knew it she was receiving text updated on the delivery. Within 35 minutes we had our hot pizzas in our hands. More impressively the super kind delivery driver found my place (it's a complicated address) and was walking toward me with our order. We ordered two pizzas - Philly Cheesesteak and BBQ Chicken, order of chicken wings and an antipasti salad with Ranch dressing. With the express intention of having leftovers. I'm not a fan of BBQ pizza but it was good, plenty of cheese and chicken. The Philly Cheesesteak was delicious. Salad fresh with plenty of meats and veggies. Very good pizza with a nice full crust. The pizza's are in made in a traditional hand tossed Chicago style thickness. The toppings are fresh and you get good coverage over the cheese. I've tried the Philly cheesesteak with generous portions of steak, onions and peppers but not so much that it overwhelms the pizza as a whole. You'll find a lot of options on the menu so select the toppings you like. Ive also done beef and onions which I like and pepperoni or cheese by the slice. They have some specials always posted. Speaking of the menu, they cover a lot. Sandwiches, salads, and plates. They make a nice meatball sandwich. The interior is cool with lots of pictures and photos throughout. We enjoyed a nice family diner recently at Big E Pizza on a Friday night just after 5pm. Got seated immediately, order was taken quickly. Quite a few tables to eat there, and atmosphere was comfortable if a little basic. Service was friendly and available but I wouldn't call it attentive. Dinner salad came out fast but pizza took 40+ minutes; sure it was busy in there but should a pizza take 40 minutes? On the upside, the pizza was pretty good; we had a meat lovers and cheese, and the kids enjoyed it. Nicely browned crust, well cooked, pizzeria-style pie: heavy on cheese & meat toppings, and a thick and slightly floppy crust. Everything tasted fresh but nothing jumped out flavor-wise, and that's why I'm not sure that it's a pizza I'd crave and hunt down, but the kids liked it so who knows. If I can't close my eyes and picture myself in the piazza on a warm autumn day, then what are we doing here? I want that basil to touch my nerves and senses, transporting me to Naples. Second knock. The Mozzarella - I mean this is what you come for right? This is the Star of the show and I'm calling for an investigation; it can't be real or at least not 100%. Let's get it to the lab, stat! Third knock. I also had the misfortune of ordering the chicken Alfredo. Let's just say you can leave your taste buds at home, don't expect to be mesmerized. You know it was frozen because it is not uncommon to get your food still cold in the middle ... not that it's not hot, but rather it's ice cold, almost frozen, cold.
