Two salsas and chips is how to start your lunch I guess. Dos Salsas has your pretty standard tex mex fare with a short lunch menu that comes with salad or soup and overall, its ok. Nothing special in my opinion compared to other tex mex places in town but its a small mini chain that's not too busy, so you can find a spot pretty easily. The red salsa is far superior to the green, which was a bit on the watery side. Chips weren't super fresh - definitely texture felt like it came out of a bag. As for lunch itself, tortilla soup was fine - pretty much chicken broth, a few chunks of overcooked chicken breast, a carrot slice and some cheese and chips inside. The pork tamales are smothered in cheese to the point where you can't really tell its a tamale without the corn husk, but not complaining about more cheese. The refried beans and rice were nothing exceptional, but helped to round out the meal. All in all, does it's job. Not necessarily the best in town but far from the worst either. read more

Quick and efficient service! We were seated immediately, chips and salsa came to the table almost before we were seated. Staff continuously checking to see if we needed refills or anything else. Loved it! We had a great dinner here. We were seated quickly, even though the restaurant was pretty busy. The standard chips and salsa arrived, with hot roja and a nice verde to give a contrast. We discovered that our basket of chips, after taking a few off the top, had many broken, small chips (bottom of the bag, perhaps?). Our server noticed this and quickly took it away and replaced it with new, warm chips. We greatly appreciated that! The chicken quesadilla was well-prepared. The chicken tasted grilled, and was cut into good sizes. The tortilla was grilled enough to be firm in our hands. There was a terrific amount of cheese throughout. The beef tacos were very tasty. They were ordered plain, with only cheese. Extra cheese was requested and boy did they deliver! A small cup of shredded cheese was placed atop of the meal. My companion was in heaven! The Pomegranate Rita was deceptively delicious. The mix of pomegranate juice, lime and Centenario Respoado was a great blend! The restaurant also offered Mexican Coke (which if you've never tried, you MUST!). It was in a very large bottle as well (a half liter). My only disappointment was the Tres Leches cake. The wasn't as moist as I expected a tres leches cake to be, and the whipped cream frosting was a bit too thick. The TVs around the restaurant were showing soccer/football games, but I wouldn't say this is a good place to go to watch sports. Food was okay - better than mid but not great. Generous portions. The service was slow and bordering on just bad - I think our waitress was also the hostess so she never came by to check on us. Two big pet peeves - I am allergic to avocado. I specifically told the waitress this was an allergy and not a preference and to put the guacamole on another plate so my husband could eat it. All the toppings arrived in another plate - with a dollop of guac on top of all of it. Seriously? The salsa was too hot for my husband so he asked if he could have some pico instead. They brought it out and charged him $1.75 for it. Why not say there's a charge? The dinner special was carne asada and clearly said $18.99 on the board as you walk in. We were charged $19.99. When we mentioned it to the server, she said thanks for letting her know. No offer to adjust it - just a blank stare. So actually that makes three things - ignoring guest allergies, not communicating up charges and overcharging. The place was clean but institutional - felt like we were in a school cafeteria. The bathrooms were the only personality in the place. Overall, the food was okay, the service lacking and the atmosphere nothing special. The portions were generous. Cedar Park is a different location but the quality hasn't changed--over time they've never disappointed me with their food and service. We have been patronizing Dos Salsas for years and even had a party there so it pains me to write a 2-star review. First, their service is excellent and we always enjoy their food, especially breakfast. What knocks them down to 2-stars is their cocktails. This is the second time we have been underwhelmed by their cocktails. I love me a good Mexican Martini and have had good ones at Chuy's, Trudy's, & Liche's downtown. These martinis are just off as they use too much lime juice, & olive brine. I finally decided to forgo the martini for my second cocktail and opted for a Paloma. Another fail! Instead of being served in a rocks glass, it was served in a water glass with an overabundance of sparking water which diluted the taste to the Max. Plus one enjoyed her spicy Margie on the rocks so she will stick with that. I on the other hand will stick with a beer and side shot of tequila on our future visits. read more

Haven't been to this restaurant in a while. Going on Saturday late afternoon has certain built in expectations and limitations. Yes it was very loud, there were numerous larger groups and some with small children that didn't want to stay seated. This made maneuvering the aisles a challenge especially for servers. The food was good, especially the spicy salsa. The items in the combos were the same but the size was smaller. Still tasty enchilada and tamale. The taco served on the side was full of ground beef and the toppings were on the plate to add to your liking. The barbacoa tacos were very tasty. Food was received in a timely manner but it took awhile for the server to come back so we could check out. Place was pretty crowded by the time we left. Parking is much easier at this location and food much tastier than in Georgetown. read more

So previously, we had a really great experience at Dos Salsas, but that was late to rest with the carryout order we had this evening. So what happened. Quite simply what happened is I ordered a frozen margarita with mango flavoring. What they didn't say, is they will only do a frozen margarita for their special margarita so I did not get what I wanted. Worst of all, is that the menu had frozen as an option for this margarita. If they're not gonna do regular margaritas as frozen, why would they have this as an option? They dropped free chips and two different salsas on the table which was really nice. The traditional red salsa was on point... flavorful, chunky and a little kick of heat. The other salsa was good too, but really liquidy so it was hard to scoop up with a chip. I ordered the Botana Platter since it had a sample of several items (all delicious), we also had a beef fajita burrito and the gravy that it's topped with reminded me of my childhood in Laredo... So. No guacamole. For guacamole enchiladas. No guacamole. How the hell does that happen? Also one beef enchilada no chicken enchilada. Purchased / paid Chicken fajita taco plate w/black beans and rice. Received no black beans. Purchased / paid Fermin's plate chicken fajita tostada Received same but with a pound of cheese. Thee cheese is literally 1/2@ or more thick and smothered the entire entree. I don't order the Kentucky Hot Brown. I've been a fan of this joint from the jump. It pains me to write this but on 12/30/2025 the crew running the bar, expo, and the front end were sloppy at best. Tried this restaurant today and I was very impressed! The service was great and the food was very good! I had the low carb grilled shrimp plate and my husband had an enchilada plate. Nice clean restaurant, outside looks nice, great location, large parking lot, easy in and out. The service was great, the manager was super nice. The salsa was not the best, it was a little watered down lacking in flavor. The tortillas are not homemade, but the food was fantastic. My wife got the fajitas, my daughter a steak, I ordered a dish with cubed pork in a sauce made from different peppers (can't pronounce the name), I tasted all the dishes. I have heard the astonished can get loud in the evening. We were there at 1700, sound was average. There is a bar and TVs all around playing sports. This is a very nice restaurant. If they can improve their salsa and get homemade tortillas, it would be an absolutely excellent restaurant. I do recommend giving them a shot. The food is that good! read more
