Lovely little coffee spot with solid pastries too! The line was quite long on a Saturday morning, but they move relatively quickly. The selection of breakfast and pastry options is extensive and tempting. They have a ton of god gluten free and vegan options too. I ended up getting a vegan chocolate coconut scone because it looked better than any of the other treats, and it was so perfectly savory and sweet at the same time. The scone itself had a nice doughy saltiness to it that was matched by the sweet chocolate chunks! The lattes were good. I had a whole milk latte and appreciated the care they put into the art. Looking for a place to grab a light lunch or brecky, Dose, is a good option. Many people also seem to come while working. I wasn't a fan of the matcha. It lacked the matcha flavor, but the coffee here seems to be a must try based off the amount of times I heard it being ordered while eating in. The tomato basil soup and grilled cheese was a nice light option. The soup could stand some salt for flavor, but other than that I was pretty pleased with my option. I've never actually been to a snooty coffee shop before and I'm not a fan. The staff- NOT friendly. Wasn't greeted when entered, stood at the counter a bit, then asked about which option on the menu was better, and the response was rude as heck. Overall ambiance is cold and sterile I got one of the breakfast sandwiches, it was a unique flavor profile and I ate it but it's not something I will be back for. Had extra time to enjoy a coffee date with a good book and finally could try this spot in East. This was my first visit to this location, and I really loved the experience. I lucked out with parking right outside, though I imagine at certain times of day it could be more challenging. Note on the culture: Being able to "dine in" with table service was interesting and unexpected and it elevated the experience from a typical coffee shop to more of a café or diner vibe. Just know that you can't order and sit wherever; you order inside and are either assigned a table or take your food to go. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and because of the time of day they seated me at a larger table instead of the community table since the smaller ones were already in use. Coffee: I ordered a hot cardamom latte and absolutely savored it-highly recommend. Food: I'd been told the breakfast burrito was a must-try, and I fully stand by that recommendation. It was so good. I went all in and added the veggies and vegan sausage, which was totally worth it. The vegan sausage reminded me of crumbled chorizo without the grease, which made it even better. They drizzle this amazing cilantro lime crema over it and serve it with tomatillo salsa for dipping, truly chef's kiss. I also appreciated the water carafe at the table and real glassware. This Dose cafe is a great neighborhood spot in East Nashville. The space is really large and there's plenty of options to eat & work at a high top counter, tables or a bar against the windows. I visited Dose for the first time this morning and placed a simple order for a small hot chocolate to go. Despite the cafe not being particularly busy for a Sunday, my order took approximately 15 minutes. I ultimately had to return to the register to inquire about it and decided to substitute the drink for a muffin instead. Went here with my family this morning and was excited to try a new coffee house. The vibe was definitely catered well and the art on the wall made me feel like this was going to be the place. I ordered a spicy egg sandwich and a "Barcelona" coffee while my partner got an avocado toast and a lavender latte. The coffee was ok In my opinion. Little too bitter for my liking. The sandwich was really good! Definitely did not estimate this level of spice in the sauce! We stopped in for an afternoon treat on a Sunday after staying nearby for the week. You can tell this business takes a lot of pride in the food and drinks that they sell. After reading the description of the Barcelona, I was sold. This is probably the best cold brew beverage I've ever had! The cold brew was perfectly smooth and balanced, and the whipped cream that they make to top this drink is nothing if not magical. It's thick and creamy without being overpowered with any sweetener or artificial flavor, as you drink the coffee and mix it together, it makes such a winning combination. I will be dreaming of this coffee. We also tried some Boston cream cake and coffee cake. The baked goods all looked amazing, the Boston cream cake was SUPER rich and a huge slice, and the coffee cake was perfectly crisped and not too sweet. All in all, this was a great stop. I didn't expect to see so many food and drink options, we would definitely come back next time we visit to try more things (and especially for that Barcelona). Service was standard, I felt the two working were hustling trying to keep all of the customers helped. I can't pinpoint why it wasn't great but my expectations may have been too high based on how good it looked. And then I wait and waited for my latte. Dose is the perfect spot to come to whether you want to work, read, eat, or sip. They have seating for everyone and then some. Their menu is good although I only indulged in a tea this time. They value their customers and by that I mean... the server I had forgot my tea. I assumed as much but was tired and really didn't feel like mentioning it. The place was busy and I've been in that situation too. Needless to say she stopped by and realized what had happened. She brought me my tea and then went off. About an hour later as I was done working and ready to leave I realized no money had been exchanged. In an un-assuming section of east Nashville, dose caters to quick drop in "coffee house style" order at the counter OR sit down style dining. Dose also Carrie's great coffee like Crema And Counter Culture from the neighboring Carolina's. We opted to sit and were provided a great menu selection with tons of sides as well as vegan food options. We spied a cinnamon roll on n the to-go case and much to our surprise they let us order it for the table with a quick toasting in the oven... YUM We ordered the ham and egg biscuit + the turkey breakfast sandwich and both were very filling paired with the cinnamon roll. The menu had 2-3 other items we definitely wanted to try as well so we will certainly be back! Boozy notes- we did not drink while here (SHOCKING) but it looks like Dose has an ample bar and may cater to happy hour drinking as well as your standard boozy brunch selection!
