For lack of a better way of putting it, I don't understand the food concepts here, and I didn't enjoy any of it. The menu has some interesting descriptions, but what I was served was difficult on the palette.... And portions were offensively small. The best advice I can give: Skip the empanadas. Did not bother looking at the reviews as I was brought here by younger family who are locals. Was told the food was good, they weren't wrong. Timeliness of food was surprisingly off given we were 1 of 3 parties seated at 12P but no complaints there as the food was still tasty. Service however, 2/10. The encounter with the younger fellow we should have been greeted by when we entered was odd and off putting from the get go. Older lady who was our server was overly friendly in the beginning then while I was waiting for my food after the other members of my family had already been served and halfway done, she came around to ask our 81 year old grandma if she needed a coffee refill, to which she answered no. The second time she came around to finally drop off my food, our grandma asked if she could get a refill this time which was met with the biggest unnecessary eye roll then smack talk to the younger fellow right in front of us about how "she just asked her if she needed one" and continued to complain out loud. Then returns to our table being completely rude to her but then attempts to sweet talk me who was sitting right next to her. Based off the other reviews, this lady's had a bad couple of months, years? Hopefully her life turns around sooner than later because it'd be such a shame for customers not to return due to their personalities vs the food/ambiance. Heard it's an OG spot however so kudos to the kitchen staff for keeping the clients returning. Would not recommend this spot unless it was to go. read more

This is a very small cafe with about 10 tables if I remember correctly. The vibe is a bit vintage. I have to confess I did not like the food that much, I also felt the lady waiting on us was a bit in a bad mood, maybe tired. It is very out of my way and I can't justify going again. The tables on the left receive so much sun, it heats your lap. The table arrangement is such that going to the bathroom feels like going through a ticket booth with one table on each side alarmingly close. read more

With the recent closure of the Dosey Doe Breakfast and Barbecue, we drove to the coffee bar for breakfast. The food was wonderful. I highly recommend the huevos rancheros. It's a wonderful mix of flavors. Our waitress, Christina was very kind and attentive. 5 stars for this place! read more

I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews for this place. I visited for my first (not last) time today, and I really enjoyed it! They were super busy and there were only 2 people working the room & drive thru window when I arrived. Those ladies were doing an amazing job! Once additional help arrived, they just stepped in and also got their boogie on! I felt very attended to and also witnessed excellent communication and customer service. Food and coffee was great & I loved the atmosphere. It's clear it's a locals' gathering spot and I loved the "community" feel. The decor is spot on, and I loved noticing we all had different types of coffee cups. Great experience for me! read more

SERVERS are always angry and rude with everyone! my husband and I were trying to give them a chance.. because everyone can have a bad day! This was my second visit here for breakfast, and I was not impressed by either experience. The service is very slow yet rushed due to there also being a drive thru that the waitress must attend to. The food tastes ordinary, and my pumpkin spice frappe was overwhelming pumpkin. I only ended up taking a couple sips. I may visit again via drive thru in the future to try another drink, but I do not plan on eating breakfast here a third time. read more

This place is definitely for a certain type of clientele - for the conservative crowd and "locals" it's great. You seem to get better service if the server knows you. Food is average breakfast fare that you can get anywhere in the woodlands. So you would come for the ambiance. I always get the sense that the servers are a little suspicious of my beliefs when I come in here, and I'm not sure what tips them off. My husband and I could never have any conversation over a low murmur for fear of being overheard (didn't want to get dirty looks). I Never get this at the big barn in the front of the woodlands - just here. So, not for moderate me. But if you are a god loving republican, you will feel very comfortable here. All I can say, is Dosey...Don't !!!! This is one of the worst breakfasts my husband and I have ever eaten... It was cold first of all... And just plain no good... I got two cold eggs, hashbrowns that have been left on the grill overnight I swear, bacon that smelled and tasted like the pig was about 50 years old and a piece of toast that looked like it had been squashed under a 50 pound bag of potatoes. The waitress was OK ,although she was busy talking to a customer at the counter and we sat and waited for a long time and was never really greeted properly. As I looked around the restaurant, it wasn't what I would call particularly clean, dirty tables, dirty glass coming in the door, but that was not the worst part after we kind of sort of ate some of the food and realized it really wasn't that good we decided to leave but the waitress and the other elderly lady was still busy talking to this one particular customer that was sitting at the counter. There were only three tables that had people at them at this time One had left so that left only our table and another two ladies in the whole restaurant ...we were never checked on to see if everything was OK. We were never asked if we wanted our water glass filled and when it came time to pay the check, we waited and waited for the waitress to approach us at our table but no one ever did ...so I waved my credit card in the air at the one girl who was talking to That one particular lady at the counter and she finally did come over after some time and I told her I'm sorry but we have a very busy day as we're leaving to go out of town so I'd like to pay my check ...so she brought the machine ....pulled up our Order ....laid it on the table for us to check out and begin to walk away ....I said thank you very much and she gave me a snippy remark and walked away. I will never return to this restaurant, and I am also going to post it on our neighborhood site, if I could give zero stars I would. Somebody needs to set these two ladies down and tell them how to do their job because they did a poor job this day. They were more interested in talking and gabbing with the lady at the counter, then taking care of customers......sad to say ...because we were hoping that this would be a wonderful experience since we live very close to this establishment ....although we did not know that it was there until it was posted in our neighborhood newsletter, so we thought we would try it out. Worst service EVER! walked in no greeting. Had to get my own menu then sat and waited for about 5 minutes before a lady that did not look very happy or ready to work asked me if I knew what I wanted. Service was abrupt, but not ineffective. I went with the breakfast burrito this time, because it's trying to leave room to eat some other things today. One of the least expensive things on the menu the breakfast burrito seems properly priced and was actually quite good except for an errant piece of tomato which took the edge off my dining enjoyment. My family and I frequent Dosey Doe whenever I am visiting for brunch. The waffles and ham are to die for! The only downside to this restaurant is that it can get very crowded and loud. I recommend going either earlier or later than brunch if you would like to be seated immediately. Food comes out at a great pace, their cappuccino is phenomenal as well! read more

I feel like because we weren't older (we're a couple in our mid 20s) we were completely ignored, and more of an inconvenience than anything, while everyone around us 60+ was treated great. The food was fine, but we sat waiting for our bill (plates stacked, empty cups and looking around) for over 15 minutes waiting for the bill. A huge plus is that it's very cheap. Christine at LD makes us feel more like a guest and less like a patron in all the good ways and the same can be said for the service at this location. Coffee tastes the way it should too-fresh! My wife and I stumbled on this lite spot while visiting The Woodlands and couldn't have been more pleased. The place is fairly small so you may have to wait a bit for a table. That said,the Texas Style Migas might be one of the best breakfast dishes I've had since moving to Houston a few weeks ago. Their French Press is also fantastic! Our waitress was super friendly and even gave us a BOGO coin that we can use to try a bourbon pour at their parent BBQ spot. We will definitely be back. read more

To go....Ordered three meats and side of smashed potatoes, Sausage, fatty briscut, and a rib. The briscut was so dry, and overdone. I tried calling to let them know and first, the phone number on the receipt is wrong (old number that someone else has) and then called the number on the website and it said "please leave a message".
