Finished last minute shopping and asked Yelp where to get lunch on Xmas eve. Nearby Chigama Asian/Mexican sounded interesting. Yelp even offered me 10% off my entire bill if I checked in now. Sold! The chalkboard outside listed tonkatsu...this is going to be easy. The decor is stylish, fresh and yet comfortable. The menu listed appetizers of both cultures, but I opted for a fish taco from elsewhere on the menu. The server, who was very nice, was in the game and brought the taco out first...as an appetizer. It was served in a taco rack, but with no plate. When the taco disintegrated, as they all do, significant bits went "out of bounds ". The taco was delicious, but ask for a plate. The ramen was very tasty. I liked the two pieces of chashu and the generous sprinkling of toasted garlic slices. It was served with a hot chili bomb in a separate dish; I used a small dollop. I appreciated the cloth napkin and great service, but I'm not a fan of plastic chopsticks. read more

Have you ever craved a Chinese/ American/ southwest flair meal? No.. no one has because it doesn't make sense... prompted by pure confusion and curiosity alone I decided to check Chigama out. First impressions.. modern, clean, thoughtfully designed ( there are charging stations on the bar tables) and inviting. For my solo lunch, I had the lemon berry açaí , hot and sour/ chicken tortilla soup, the chigama burger and the chigama fries. Definitely glad the waiter talked me into the fries, thick cut bacon sprinkled throughout, generous serving ( could share), kimchi and a red sauce make this dish sweet, a little kick, and definitely filling. The burger is large .. I personally wouldn't share it, but I guess a more generous person would. It comes with greens and tomato on the side, as well a side of aioli. 2 slices of crisp bacon on top with a fried egg. I prefer a well done burger but this didn't taste dry at all, the bun was thick and held up well for the large size patty. The soup was a mashup of a chicken tortilla and a hot and sour. It had a mild spice but was filled with tender large cut vegetables and sliced white meat chicken. The berry lemon açaí.. I wasn't sure what to expect and the waiter described it as a lemonade.. I don't know about that but it was more like a flavored carbonated water to me. Not that it takes away from the refreshing fizz but it wasn't as sweet as a lemonade. Seriously.. try everything. 1) The "chicken" doesn't taste like any chicken I've ever eaten. Perhaps a DNA test should be performed on it. It is DEFINITELY the oldest, STRINGIEST, least flavorful chicken-adjacent food I've ever had. 2) the older female manager is extremely unpleasant. She yells at you and doesn't give you what you ordered. So be sure to open any to-go orders and check to make sure you get what you wanted. They do not care when they screw up your order. Which is a feature and not a bug. 3) It seems this place is under some sort of financial pressure. Everything I ordered (that I was lucky enough to get in my bag when I got home) was smaller, less flavorful, and just yuckier than I've experienced from them in the past 2 years I've been giving them my business. The egg rolls are smaller and mostly dough. The crab Rangoon is completely devoid of cheese filling and the thought of it actually containing crab is hilarious. The sesame chicken should come with a side of toothpicks because the "meat" is so tough. most of what was called Sesame chicken was just fried dough. In short, this place is disgusting. read more

Went there for a dinner and was pleasantly surprised. I got hunan chicken with steamed rice and my partner got chicken with broccoli. Overall not bad. The spice level on the hunan chicken was very good. Enough to make my mouth tingle but not so much I was on fire. It also had a sweetness that was something unique. The staff was very nice and wore masks. Bathroom were clean and large. My only gripe was the table we had was sticky and when we asked to have it wiped the waiter said it is just the way the table. I can understand but I still myself would have wiped it down. Also if it really is that way I would seriously look into having the tables resurfaced and a different sealer or getting new tables. read more

The good: the vegan tacos (roasted veggies and quinoa) were to die for delicious - However, while my hub's meat tacos were overflowing, the filling in my tacos were noticeably sparse. :( The S.O. ordered a beef taco, a chicken taco, and a pork taco - His verdict: all were good - If you like pulled meat and pickled cabbage, you'll enjoy these tacos. The okay: I love risotto and I LOVE corn, so I was sure I'd be blown away by the corn risotto - I wasn't. It's not that it was bad, it was just meh (and bland). The bad: good gravy it took a looonng time to get our food (think at least 20+ mins) - The 2 servers working didn't seem to be enough to accommodate the number of people dining. Everything was slow - From getting seated, to our waitress coming over to take our order, to actually receiving our order was just ridiculously slow. It was so slow, I had to forgo ordering the churro dessert for fear it would add another 20 minutes to our dining experience. The good outweigh the cons right now, so will give Chigama another whirl when the fancy strikes (and when I'm not starving and need sustenance ASAP). read more

I love this place. The duck was phenomenal! A little spendy but 100% worth the cost for what you get. There is an excellent blend of Americanized and authentic dishes and we left full with leftovers for not a breaking of the wallet. I love this place. I came once before when they were first opening and the food was amazing then and it's even more amazing now. The staff is OUTSTANDING. They're extremely helpful. Any of the tacos, fried bao, and soups are all amazing. They even serve alcohol now. Unfortunately I had a flight to catch but I'd like to spend a little more time trying this place out further. I really wanted to like Chigama because the location is close and it puts together two of my favorite cuisines. It's not bad here, but it's just not that good. There's plenty of parking in the plaza and there are seats inside and out. They have a small bar area and about a dozen tables for dining. Ambiance, service and decor is great. I can see myself coming back for drinks and a snack but would eat elsewhere. Food is mediocre at best- portions were smaller than expected, taste is mild/bland like other reviewers said, and prices changed since some of the last pictures for the higher. I got the pork bun, cold noodles with shrimp and horchatta panna cotta. The pork bun was pricey ($4 for one), and had more bun than pork belly. I would advise a hard pass on the cold noodles as it simply lacked flavor. The texture of the noodles were also weird- overcooked and soggy. The panna cotta was yummy but did not taste like horchatta at all. It's a new establishment and I hope they improve. Time will tell. read more

Our party usually sits at the bar. Our bartender was nice and constantly looking out for us. The way he was going at it, I'm surprised he wasn't sweating bullets. I ordered the burger they offer. I was not happy. Maybe it is just me but seems like everytime I order a burger, it is not meant to be for me. I like my burgers medium well. The faintest of pink in the middle. They didnt ask me how I wanted it cooked but it came out almost rare. So much pink in the middle and kind of cold as well. It was taken off my ticket by the bartender. The hubby and I tried Chigama tonight. It was delicious! I started with a cup of the Hot and Sour Chicken Tortilla Soup. It was hearty, full of chicken and veggies. We tried the calamari. It was served with jalapeños which gave a nice little kick and some aoli sauce to dip. I splurged on some roasted Brussels Sprouts, and they didn't disappoint. Mike had the fried rice with shrimp and was pleased with his choice, although he poured a sizable amount of low sodium soy sauce on it. My main dish was the Za Jieng Mein, a chorizo and pork belly ragu with noodles. I stirred it up as instructed and let it sit while I was noshing the soup and sprouts. It melded into a beautiful symphony of flavor. Yummy!! Chigama has a cool vibe, and we had great service. I'd definitely return to try other items. I ordered for this restaurant for the first time Saturday and was extremely sick with food poisoning for the following 48 hours. I thought this restaurant was more upscale - but when we received our food, it appeared to have been sitting in a warmer for hours just could tell by the quality and texture- we ordered the sesame chicken, mongolian beef, orange chicken, crab wontons and egg drop/ hot sour soups. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Salt & Pepper Lobster at Dot Wo. It was delicious! The lobsters are very fresh and are kept in saltwater tank. My lobster was very feisty. When the chef pulled him out of the tank, this three pound beauty didn't just flop around listlessly like a dead carp. This lobster got pissed! He got all Jackie Chan and started throwing claws around and flipping his tail. I half way expected him to pull a knife on the chef and make a break for the front door! On a whim after seeing my massage therapist, I decided to stop in and try out this new place. It was a very pleasant experience coming in. The music is popular and just the right level. Not too loud to talk, or too soft you can barely hear it. It is well lit with a mixture of soft natural light and pretty fixtures, including walls of string lights, which I love. The colors are warm, but modern and the decor is trendy, but comfortably so. I was immediately greeted by the host, who I think is the manager. He was very pleasant and took time to chat with me about their food and their particular style. The seating was surprisingly comfortable, almost lounge like. While getting my drink, I looked outside and saw a large patio area with seating, I suspect will be a hotspot once the weather improves. After perusing the unique menu and asking a few questions for clarification of the items I was interested in, I ordered. I decided on a seared tuna taco (with carrots and kimchi aioli, that I asked about), and a scallion pancake and brussel sprout side. The food came out rather quickly, in a good way, with the taco coming before the sides. The tuna looked cooked to perfection. I took a bite and realized that there was no carrot or kimchi. It was dressed with a black bean and mango salsa, featured with their other fish taco. I didn't order that one because I'm not a huge mango fan, so I was a bit disappointed, but lucky for me, it was actually quite delicious. After asking, I was told that the chefs were new and may have been confused on the taco additives. I was not offered to try the carrot or kimchi aioli, but as I said, my taco was still delicious. The sides were also delicious. The scallion pancake had a wonderful texture, both crisp and chewy, that I rather enjoyed and the Brussels had a good flavor, though they were a touch too oily for my tastes, as I think they were deep fried. The odd taco switch and oily brussels are not enough to deduct a star alone though. I was a tad disappointed in the portion to cost. The sides were a little small, but not bad. What was disappointing more was the single, very small taco with minimal fillings and no additional side, for $5. Most of their menu is on the higher side for me. Being as this is a trendy spot and they do have specialty, good quality ingredients, it's not entirely unexpected. Generally I enjoyed the experience and plan to come back. read more

Situated is a busy center with lots of parking. Was greeted and seated promptly. This was during COVID time period and no customers were wearing masks besides us with no signage requiring it. We found out upon arrival they had only been open ~ a month so of course we expected some growing pains. The wait staff was super attentive and sweet. I don't leave many reviews but let me say this. The food is so amazing and worth every penny! I I travel to OK occasionally for work and have ordered Chinese food to door dash many times. Prior to this the food reviews (other restaurant) haven't met my expectations. However this one is so spot on and beyond perfect. I ordered the Chicken Broccoli entree with fried veggie roll. The veggies are so fresh and crunchy, the sauce is perfect and not heavy. I can't stop eating it! The Veggie roll is crunchy and not greasy. I love they deliver and it isn't sooo very expensive.
