The home fries are just as good as the down home service. This is my absolute favorite chill spot. Even when I don't want food, I can chill on the front patio or at the bar. The burgers are better than the burgers on Marshall and 27th. LOL (and that place is walking distance for me, I have to drive to Dot's)

Great place for a dinner with family. Prices are great and wide selection on the menu. We came the week of Thanksgiving and it was packed so service was understandably slow as it would be anywhere this time of year. We really enjoyed our meal here. Highly recommend.

What's not to love? I went to Dot's way back in the day and had to make a stop there right away when I moved back to RVA. Our food was great, service was attentive and prompt, prices are reasonable and the vibe is still super cool, even after all these years! Thanks for still being here Dot's!

Cocktail menu. Didn't have a lot to offer. I had the vodka limeade and didn't like it. Too sour with the fresh lime juice

I had a beyond burger and it was fine. The fries were average. My child had grilled cheese and fries nothing spectacular. The place is small and cluttered. It's cute but over packed. The waitress was nice and there was not a long wait for a Saturday afternoon. I would not come back though. Ever! There is no diversity. At all

Stopped here as it's a DDD! Food was ok. Dessert was better. I was puzzled by the receipt as it had a meals tax. Ive never heard of that, made the bill almost ten percent higher. Service was not the greatest either, I went the last half of my meal without a drink refill.

This place wasn't at all what we expected. We went because of seeing it on tv with Guy Fieri. I'll start with the one positive: The staff was extremely nice and attentive. That was the only thing we liked. Both mine and my husband's eggs were cold. The breakfast potatoes were cold. The corned beef hash wasn't at all like I have had anywhere else. It was more like two little burgers that tasted like meatloaf with green pepper. We really wanted to like this place but unfortunately all we liked were the people.

Finally made it to Dot's Back Inn! Food's good, with a nice varies menu. The service was good, but boy o boy, is it loud! Parking can be tricky along MacArthur

Great service. Lots of food. Plenty of shrimp on the potatoes. Husband got the sailor sandwich as it was a recommendation from server. He enjoyed it.

Not much flavor. Kids chicken strips were a chicken patty that was overcooked and cut up. Also came out lukewarm at best. The Rueben was soggy and had about three slices of meat on it. Very little sauce on the sandwich no and was charged for extra when I asked for more. Added the Parmesan truffle fries which were powered Parmesan with some truffle oil sprinkled on top. Again all lukewarm. The Timberwolf burger had maybe two jalapeño's on it and the onions were burnt. The regular burgers and kids are the same size. Housemade pickles were soggy and the cucumber skins were tough. The quality of food from when we had eaten here a couple years ago was subpar in comparison. If you are going to charge for upscale items then they need to be upscale in the quality of what you are serving. Will not be back.

Parking in the area is a little difficult and Sunday at lunch is no different. We were able to find street parking a few blocks down and were happy to enjoy the Spring weather. Craft burgers with a variety of options... everyone will find something they like. You place you order at the counter and then wait at your table until they call your name so be prepared! The menu has so many tempting options that it was hard to choose, but we both landed on the Hot Chicken Sandwich with cayenne butter--and we're glad we did. It had the perfect amount of heat: enough to bring some spice without overpowering the flavor. On the side, I ordered the green beans after our bartender/server highly recommended them. Normally, green beans wouldn't be my first choice, but they were seasoned perfectly and ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the meal. My partner chose the mac and cheese, which was the superior side (although both were excellent). The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine throughout the evening. Despite arriving on a Friday night without a reservation, we had no trouble getting a table. They only accept reservations for parties of 5-8, so I'm glad we decided to take our chances. One of my favorite parts of the evening was chatting with another guest at the bar. He and his wife shared several entrées with their young son, and they couldn't stop raving about the short ribs--which their son happily claimed for himself by the end of the meal! They also highly recommended the salmon, so we've already got ideas for our next visit. The only real downside has nothing to do with the restaurant itself: parking in Scott's Addition can be a challenge. I'd recommend allowing yourself some extra time to find a spot or, even better, taking a rideshare so you can start enjoying your evening right away. Lunch. Supper! has earned its reputation as a longtime Richmond favorite. Great food, excellent service, and a relaxed atmosphere make this an easy five-star recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

Only street parking is available, but it wasn't too difficult to find a spot. The atmosphere: Very rustic vibe with some farmhouse-style decor. They have table, high-top, bar, and patio seating available. The food: I opted for the Chicken and Waffles with a side of cheese grits. I chose to make it hot for more spice. It's served with one whole waffle, two large pieces of fried chicken, and syrup on the side. The chicken was not seasoned as much as I hoped and wasn't as spicy as I expected, which was a bummer. The cheese grits were alright as well, but not as flavorful as I hoped. My partner ordered the Double Barrel Bowl, and he really enjoyed it. It was packed with pulled pork and was plentiful and filling. The service: Great and kind service from Mave (I believe that is her name but I'm not entirely sure). She informed us about the daily specials and was attentive throughout our visit.
