Galaxy is one of my favorite restaurants to visit when in Carytown. I love the creative and fun options on the menu as well as the classic overall theme diner theme. The food always comes out quick, tasty, and presented so well. The wait staff are always fun to talk to and I really enjoy trying new things each time I go!

Always fun and great service! Nice place to hang while on a waitlist for other spots in Carytown or for afters.

It's a diner and has good diner food! Nothing really stood out to me except for the servers... they are amazing and attentive and make great suggestions... The breakfast food is amazing! 100 out of 100 times, I would choose the breakfast dishes if I were to return... The 2 desserts we got were amazing! Fried Oreos and apple pie a la mode... warm and with vanilla ice cream... perfection!

Googled "Best diner in Richmond" and Galaxy Diner was the first option to pop up. We have never ate here before but were very pleased with the whole experience. Great atmosphere, fantastic service. Wife and I will definitely dine here again while in town.

Went this weekend for desert after dinner and it takes you back to a quintessential dinner! The staff was lovely and the menu was a total throw back. I got a slice of apple pie with icecream and it tasted home made! If you are wanting good dinner for, this is the place for you!

Every time we come here, the service and quality of the food are perfect! The nachos are so good and definitely larger than an appetizer portion. I love to get the Boba Fett burger and it is the perfect balance of spicy, salty, and cheesy. It can be loud in there but it's overall fun vibes and friendly in there. It is a little dark if you sit closer to the bar but not so much so you can't see. The prices are so reasonable too. We definitely come on a regular basis.

If you're a fan of good 'ol American style diners, this place will satisfy you. With the classic colors, furniture, and style, it truly brings you back to those days. I got the Galaxy Supreme Nachos. It was plentiful to share with others. It had a lot of toppings; cream cheese, lettuce, beans, onions, to name a few. I got the Nuclear Waste Dog as my entree. The toppings were similar to the Galaxy Supreme Nachos. It was a foot long hotdog, and I believe it because I couldn't finish it. It was good, but had a little too many toppings. It was messy to eat. Can't go to a diner without a milkshake. I ordered the Peppermint Patty. They even had the chocolate candy inside the milkshake. What I like about this is that they had leftover milkshake and they gave it to me. You can enjoy it without wasting any throw away. The service was friendly and diligent. The waitress was attentive and checked up on us frequently. I'll probably come back to try other menu options, or maybe even their breakfast that I heard was good too.

Good dining experience from an ambiance standpoint, and they're open 8am until midnight. Service kept missing our order up from drinks to plates but it wasn't that bad. Food was great. My wife really liked her pancakes and bacon...better than most on both...and where else can you get a fried bologna sandwhich disguised as a create your own burger? Delicious. Good vibe, good food, and open late for eating. We'll be back.

Came here for the first time today and was thoroughly impressed! Service was fast, kind, and efficient. It is definitely a diner vibe with booths and low lighting. A Carytown staple if you will. The food was amazinggggg. We all got different things and all enjoyed ourselves. I'll definitely be returning!

A classic, American home-style diner. You HAVE to check this place out!!! It is the cutest, coziest place I've been to in a while. Though a small location, it has a large personality. The staff were so amicable and cracked jokes the entire time. Food service was fast and tasted great. I can't wait to go back!

Stopped in late night, very good vibe, cool atmosphere. I ordered the country fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes and Coleslaw. The country fried steak was very good, delicious gravy. They were the best garlic mashed potatoes I have ever had, creamy and a great garlicky taste. The coleslaw was good. My dining companion had the Crabby patty melt and was very satisfied. Prices reasonable for the portions and high quality of food. I would defiantly recommend this place.

I came to Galaxy Diner with my partner on a Saturday night before a show at the Byrd. We were seated right away (which isn't always the case, since this is a popular spot). The restaurant is much bigger than it looks from the street; the walls are painted black and dark blue with colorful and neon lights to create a retro and futuristic feel. Our food came out relatively quickly and the portions were very generous for the price! I paid about $26 for all of the food pictured, and had pancakes leftover to eat the next day. The food was tasty - standard diner/breakfast food. Overall a great experience and a must-try spot if you're in Carytown.

Came here for my mom's birthday for brunch. Great service, nice and friendly. The food was good and the vibe was cool. Affordable.

The American cheese ruined this and it's rolled up with the meat!

The patio outside was really cute and cozy, the various seating areas is really great because you get a different feel from different angles. Our server recommended a Mexican lager.. it was SO GOOD! My date and I had to raise our voices to continue our conversation, we wanted to take our drinks outside but were told the patio closes at 11 :( We got lucky as the crowd was really thin but most weekends our server said it gets packed.. it's such a small place, I can't imagine what it would be like with 100 people inside!!

UPDATE: I'm updating my original one-star review to five stars…read more Our first visit was unfortunately a mess. Service on the rooftop was extremely slow, several menu items were unavailable, our order was incorrect, and the overall experience fell far short of expectations. To their credit, management reached out, listened to the feedback, and invited our group back to give them another chance. I'm very glad we did. This time we dined in the downstairs dining room, which has a beautiful moody-chic library atmosphere that immediately sets the tone for a great meal. Our server, Sophie, was friendly, attentive, efficient, and everything service should be. The cocktails were all scrumptious and served in beautiful glassware. We started with the short rib and mac-and-cheese egg rolls, which were delicious. For entrees, our group ordered the Greek grain bowl, shrimp and grits, banh mi, Cobb salad, and Caesar salad. The Greek grain bowl was enormous--I gave it my best effort and still took home nearly a third of it. More importantly, every dish was excellent. No notes to give. Everything was top-notch. What impressed me most wasn't that the restaurant had a bad night the first time around. Every restaurant can have an off day. What impressed me was how seriously the feedback was taken and how dramatically different the second experience was. Manager Charlie Illes stopped by our table during the visit and played a major role in turning things around for us. The difference between our first and second visits was night and day. Harry's earned this revised review through accountability, hospitality, and execution. I'll absolutely be back based on this experience.

Parking is always a challenge here but on a nice summer evening the walk is not too For cocktails we got a watermelon basil margarita and an upper east side. I really enjoyed the margarita but not sure I tasted much watermelon . No complaints about the upper east side- a solid bourbon drink. We always get the shrimp oreganata for an appetizer and it was very good, but the bread did not seem very fresh and there was certainly not enough of it. We were told we would get more, but we never got it. I did enjoy my apricot spinach salad with salmon, but my husband and my friend weren't super impressed with garlic and thyme, butter salmon. Just not enough flavor.

We had the option of getting brunch or the regular lunch menu. I ordered the OG chicken sandwich and it was amazing. The chicken was full of flavor and juicy and I liked the sauce that came on it. Their famous short rib egg rolls were a bit burned on the outside so a bit dry on the inside. They did have a very good sauce served with them that pretty well covered the flaws. The risotto that came with my duck leaned a little too far to the mushy side. The duck itself was really good. My niece had the salmon, and she had no complaints.
