SO, to preface, I hang out with a group of people who swear by this place. So they finally convinced me to go and I was unfortunately disappointed. I got the omelet special for lunch, my BF got the blue burger and our guest got a typical two egg dish with toast etc. I felt bad because the server was great and the atmosphere is great, but I regularly make better omelets than this, like a lot better than this, and I am not super great at making omelets. It was essentially scrambled egg made into a circle, folded over a pile of tasteless black beans, spinach and feta. meh. Bland. I tried my beaus burger and it was just a mess. WAY too much blue cheese and very little burger (that was way overcooked). Now I just started eating burgers, so I am not super versed in what a burger is supposed to be like, but I did not enjoy this at all. I wish I could give the calories back. Great French toast and pancakes. Place has outdoor patio which was great for our family of 6. Our kids are young and were able to be loud and walk around since there wasn't anyone else there. A little to heavy on the butter side but just took it off so no biggie. I wish they had more syrup choices and wiped things down a little better. I'm i little picky about cleanliness. I'm giving it 3 stars for the following: We've had mixed service, either really good or really overwhelmed servers. The hostess can be testy too. My friend and I were visiting her parents and they insisted on taking us to Dots. I'm so glad they did because it was absolutely delicious! I got a cajun burger with bleu cheese and jalapenos and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. They said that they've been there many times and have never had anything they didn't like. For starters (and it was almost a wrap for me after this) we had the Five Star Nachos...a plate piled high with chili, cheese, olives, jalepenos, tomatoes, salsa and sour cream! We went on a Saturday mid-day and we were able to walk right in, but shortly after they became very busy. Very small place, very friendly, and we enjoyed the food. I got the Cajun burger with bacon it was perfect, my girlfriend got the tuna melt and I thought it was good not great but good. We went for brunch today. We lucked out and got a table right away, but some people had to wait. They didn't wait long because the waitresses moved things along quickly. My wife enjoyed the Potato Soup and Eggs Benedict. I had a special chorizo, egg cheese burrito with home fries. The home fries were excellent as was the burrito with homemade salsa on the side. I heard this place was fabulous... it was not. Traveled quite a bit as well to get here. The waitress was not very friendly & made some inappropriate comments complaining. Their ranch seems to be hidden valley (not house made). Their salad was very skimpy. We shared chicken quesadillas for appetizer. It was pretty good. I did not care for the thick & dry 'homestyle' fries. The club was okay but very thin & the lettuce tastes odd. I do nit think I'd go back- except to try that blueberry muffin ice cream sandwich. This place isn't the most appealing to the eye but if you're looking for a very casual atmosphere this is the place to go. We went for brunch and some people got burgers and some (myself included) got omlets. They brought my husband the wrong order but he was so hungry he ate what he could of it anyways. My omlet was pretty tasty as were the toast I was given. I've had better homestyle potatoes though. Service was good although the hostess was very rude when 1 person in our party hadn't arrived yet and made us wait with a child. Overall, I wouldn't go back!! I had not been to Dot's Back Inn for a few years and we found ourselves in that part of town this past Sunday. Such a popular spot...had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table. We both ordered burgers but most folks were having breakfast type foods. Dot's will cook them to order and we both like our burgers med. rare. Their fries were good, more like chunks of fried potatoes and seasoned -- very tasty. We both ate for right at $20 with iced tea to drink. I'd definitely go back. Dot's Back Inn has great breakfast! The service was polite and suggested for me to order the pancakes. I spit the omelet and pancakes with my mom, and boy! They were good! The pancakes melted in my mouth, delicious! They were soft, sweet, smooth! And the waiter said they came from a box! The omelet was full of flavor, and had diced onion, sweet bell pepper, and mushrooms. The biscuits were just as good as everything else, soft and mouthwatering! Had the worst attitude waitress from the Bar who took care of me outside. I came here because they were on DDD and sought this place out because of the internet and smartphones. I saw tater tots on the yelp review photos with a sandwhich. They offered potato with their burger. I did not see tator tots on the menu but the waitress said they had them. Burger was fine, tots were fine. Get the bill, I am charged an additional amount for the tator tots, the waitress never told me there was an upcharge for that, nor was a price listed in the menu, and she finally rudely states "thats what you get for ordering off of your phone and not the menu" For a place who is online, and relies on online reviews and people talking about the place on the internet that is not the type of attitude one deserves especially for the waitress not doing her job.
