This is a must when in New Orleans. We stopped in to the piano bar before seeing a show next door. We enjoyed two hurricanes and live music while we were there. Top notch service and the hurricanes are wonderful!

If you ever go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras so we went there for a vacation was around my birthday but this is a great place to stop at if your in the French quarter it's a little busy but it's worth it, the food was good and the service was great I love the Gumbo in fact I just love Cajun food in general but if you ever go there you should definitely check it out

Pat O'Brien's has the reputation and the location, but I was disappointed to find the Guinness was only in a can and not on tap. In a place this well known, that just felt like a miss. The vibe is still very much classic French Quarter tourist energy, but the beer selection did not quite match the legend. How can an Irish bar not have Irish beer on tap? HMMMMMMM

Pat O'Brien's was one of my mini pit stops while walking along Bourbon Street, and several people told me it was a must-visit for my first trip to New Orleans--specifically for the famous Hurricane. Of course, I had to order one. And let's just say I took my time with it because I am very much a lightweight! But it was definitely worth trying and part of the full New Orleans experience. The service was great, and the overall vibe was exactly what you'd expect in this area--relaxed, lively, and full of people just enjoying themselves. Between the music playing in the streets and the energy of the crowd, it was a really fun atmosphere. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in New Orleans.

We were greeted right away and since we wanted food, we sat outside in the entryway. It was a perfect spot for people watching. The service was fantastic. Our waiter brought us all big glasses of water and took our order. The food was good and the hurricanes were category 6! Next time I think I'd like to sit in the big courtyard. It's beautiful and you're away from the crowds on Burbon Street. Also fair prices and 2 hurricanes for 3 people is just right! Excellent all around.

Great spot for drinks. Stopped by on a Monday afternoon, so no food was offered during certain days. Not a problem, just had a few drinks and enjoyed company and the vibe here.

What's not to love about this highly popular location that is a must stop every time I am in the city. Several years ago when I was here, I found out that we have the same birthday, which is December 2. So glad that I stopped in for the traditional hurricane while sitting on the patio looking at the fountain. I just love this place.

We went on a Friday afternoon for hurricanes at the piano bar. It was empty so we had so much room and listening space around the bar. The pianists are fabulous. Very personable and great at interacting with the crowd. The vibes are amazing day or night and so are the drinks!

Litttt drinks! The famous hurricane was solid. It's dangerous cause it's sweet, you don't taste much of the alcohol. My husband must have a strong tolerance cause he didn't feel anything after having one. The vibes and music were pretty good. It was a mixture of genres. There's a jukebox where you cans select music but you have to pay. It wasn't super packed when we went. It was around 9:40 pm the week before the final Mardi Gras parade (02/08/26).

The piano bar was an awesome experience! We loved listening to the energetic pianists take requests and play an amazing assortment of requested at the Bar. You have to buy a drink - and quite honestly, all the specialty drinks were quite heavy on the alcohol. So if you are into a stronger cocktail, Pat O'Briens has a drink for you. Go for the live music and the ambiance - best atmosphere for me personally on Bourbon Street. It might not be true jazz, but if you want piano, look no further than pat o briens.

THEE home of the most prestigious, unique, and dangerous alcoholic concoction: The Hurricane! That's the main reason why you're at this establishment since legend says this place is the birth place of this notorious beverage. Price has gone up since COVID and runs for about $13 each now. But upon ordering one and taking the first sip, you will be hit with a powerful injection of fruit and alcohol that will take over your body. And you will continue sipping on this until it's gone. Be careful and do small sips at an easy pace. This way you can enjoy the cocktail cause it's worth enjoying. So much so, you may order a second (and a third if you dare). As for the bar itself, it's quite large with a mega outdoor seating area. Inside has a couple bar areas with a piano area to enjoy some music and karaoke. I haven't seen what the place is like when it gets truly packed but each time I've attended, it's had a steady crowd of people sitting around sipping hurricanes and shooting the breeze. Definitely a touristy spot but one that I always frequent when I'm in the Big Easy. You can also purchase the hurricane glass as a souvenir. Plus they serve food here too but I didn't care for that since we know why people come here.

It's a must stop any time you are in New Orleans and you gotta get a hurricane. The service is impeccable. The servers' personalities here are amazing and they always seem like they all love their jobs! Derrick took good care of us, making us laugh, making sure we were good on food and drinks the whole time. The catfish strips were delicious. Even during the day, the vibe gets you in the mood to relax and let loose a little. Love it!

Words simply cannot express how much I continue to be blown away by the exquisite quality of food,…read morebeverage, service, and uncommon hospitality demonstrated and perfectly executed by this New Orleans establishment. My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!

Supposedly…read morereservations were hard to get, but that is because they allot most of the place for walk-ins, so you don't need to put in the effort that I did to book a time a month in advance. We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. I'm a big fan of sitting at the bar, so as soon as I walked in, it was time to camp out at my favorite spot. Food wasn't on my mind today, so if you're here for a food review, you might want to skip this one . This was strictly a drinks only mission. At first, the bartender was a guy I recognized from Cure, which instantly set the tone. the bartenders there actually know their craft, so I already felt like I was in good hands. Then Zari entered the scene. I'm not sure if she was just getting on shift or wrapping it up, but she completely elevated the experience. I told her I'm a gin person (heavy on the gin), and instead of giving generic suggestions, she actually tailored recommendations to my taste. I ended up ordering the Clover Club cocktail, and it did not disappoint. Balanced, refreshing, and beautifully crafted exactly what I want from a gin-based drink. Then came my bonus round: a shot of Song Cai Dry Gin from Vietnam. Clean, botanical, and surprisingly smooth, definitely not your average gin.
