This is by far one of the best new restaurants in Delray! We stopped by a couple of weeks after their opening knowing nothing about the place, and wow were we blown away by everything. First off, the vibe and decor are fantastic. The place is modern but not stuffy with great design touches all around. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and gave some great recommendations. Everything we ordered was so flavorful and extremely high quality. Portion sizes were very generous, and the prices were really reasonable for it all. The happy hour menu was pretty incredible, and there were really wonderful dishes throughout. The sushi was delicious and one of the best in the area. To celebrate our anniversary, we wanted to try somewhere new and landed on Double Knot after coming across a post on Instagram- and it turned out to be such a great choice! We decided to do the Chef's Tasting Menu and I'm so glad we did! For $78 per person, you get 10 selections plus soft serve, with choices from different sections of the menu- including two Robatayaki selections. It was the perfect way to experience a little bit of everything. We had such a great variety of sushi, seafood, meats and vegetables. The fish was incredibly fresh, the scallops were beautifully seared, the grilled meats had the perfect char, and honestly, even the vegetables were memorable. There was also PLENTY of food by the end! But I have to give a special shoutout to our waitress, Hailey. She was beyond sweet! She took her time explaining exactly how the tasting menu worked, checked in throughout the meal to see which dishes were our favorites, and recommended some of her own favorites for us to try. If not for the food, we'd come back just for Hailey! The rest of the staff was just as gracious. The hostess was polite both when we arrived and as we were leaving, and the young gentleman who helped bring out our dishes was incredibly engaging. The whole vibe was warm and welcoming from beginning to end. And a little downtown Delray bonus- there's a parking garage adjacent to the building. It's $4/hour, but the garage was pretty empty when we arrived, which is practically unheard of in downtown Delray! Super convenient and an easy walk right over. The restaurant is beautiful and modern, very dimly lite so bring your flashlight to read the menu. Service was wonderful and attentive. We were interested in trying their chef's tasting menu if 10 dishes for $78 but whole table will have to order the same items but decide to try some items first on their daily happy hour 4-6 throughout the entire restaurant, an extensive menu of appetizers but only 2 drink specials, neither of which we liked. The pork belly bao: extremely dry and boring, not much flavor or texture. The ribeye scallion and short rib robatayaki where the ribeye was the star but beef was rare in the center on both. Soba noodles were meh. Kim Chee fried rice bland with no "fried" wok hai flavor. Pork potstickers, meat was a bit dense and it sat in the soy dipping sauce which made it too salty and it was a bit too acidic for my liking. Spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls a bit underdressed no masago or sauce, and rice was gummy. Karage was ok but not as crispy as most and it was barely touched by either of us. Honestly I would only order the ribeye scallion robatayaki again. We may return to try the other dishes but overall very disappointing read more

Double knot, Double the 5 star rating! The service was exceptional from the start. We had a reservation and we were greeted and seated right away. Every staff member was friendly and attentive; the manager personally stopped by every table to introduce himself and make sure everyone was having a good time. That's something I love to see when we visit places cause it shows that they care about their customers. Our sever took her time explaining the menu, asked about allergies and dietary restrictions before we ordered, and made an amazing first impression since it was our first time dinning here. The restaurant is gorgeous from the moment you walk in. Beautiful dining room with a great mix of booths, half booths, small and big tables for larger parties. The restrooms are designed with private individual rooms, changing tables, and stunning black and gold décor. Now let's talk about the food. Most of the things we ordered were from the HH menu. Starting with the kimchi fried rice ! Omg it was our absolute favorite. Packed with flavor and lucky for us it came with shrimp, although we were not sure if that's how they prepare it on a daily basis or a random add on oopsie, so if you have a shellfish allergy, ask before ordering it. The albacore tuna tataki was hands down our favorite dish. It was so good that we ordered a second one! I'd never had albacore tataki before, and now im obsessed with it! We also ordered the chicken karaage which was delicious! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and not salty at all. The spicy tuna roll was incredibly fresh. Our server mentioned they receive fresh fish every Friday, and you could definitely taste the quality. The roll had a generous amount of tuna instead of being mostly rice. The shrimp tempura roll from the happy hour menu was just right. Shrimp and rice but tasted completely different from others we've had before. Ribeye, salmon and beef skewers were cooked to perfection. Tender meat and lots of great flavors. Definitely something you got to try! They also offer a big variety of fresh sushi and sashimi along with cold and warm appetizers from their regular menu. Happy hour goes daily from 4-6pm IN THE WHOLE RESTAURANT!. I know insane! Food and drink specials you can't go wrong with that. From the food, the service, the beautiful décor, and great happy hour deals, this was one of the best dinning experiences we've had in a long time. Double Knot: What a great addition to the Delray Beach restaurant scene! I have to be honest, when I first heard that Double Knot was opening a sushi+ restaurant along The Ave, I thought, "does Delray really need another sushi restaurant?" Without a doubt tho, Double Knot is unique not only for its menu, but for the interior look and feel. It's minimalist mixed with Great Gatsby, which sounds like a contraction, but is quite striking and stunning. Inside it's beautifully lit making the restaurant a perfect, romantic date-night spot. And it does have a Miami vibe to it, more so than other restaurants in Delray. Now for the food. Double Knot offers quite a variety of smaller, Japanese inspired "Cold", "Small" and "Robatayaki" plates, which I like because you can try different things and not break the bank or have to remortgage your home. We tried the asparagus, chicken breast, maitake mushroom, and duck leg robos and they were all delish. I especially liked their spicy mustard dipping sauce (which they provide to you in a small, squeeze bottle [nice touch]) with the chicken. I ordered the premium uni wasabi sushi which was really fantastic, well worth the higher price. We didn't get it but the ribeye scallions robo was very popular. For a main, I had the wagyu bavette which included sliced wagyu over a miso butter, japanese sweet potato (i'm a huge fan of the sweet potato) and bonito. It was excellent, and it wasn't astronomically expensive!! I think the miso butter soaked up with the tender wagyu were a heavenly match. The hamachi ceviche was good and I liked the little pieces of grapefruit. The mushroom truffle fried rice was amazing with a perfect, fluffy yet slightly starchy texture. Double Knot has a good cocktail and wine list. We went around 630 on a Saturday in mid-July (not the busiest time of the year) and it got packed within the hour and we thought that the bartenders had difficulty keeping up with drink orders from tables and patrons as they came up to the bar to order drinks. There's a bar in the front as you walk in, a large dining area, and a back sushi bar which looks amazing. Double knot was a wonderful experience from start to finish. There is another one in Wynwood that I never had the chance to try, so I'm glad I was able to dine here finally! We waited a few minutes for our table when we arrived and we sat in the back area. I was shocked by how large and crowded the restaurant was! I went on a Friday evening. Plus, I was happy we sat in a more private back area because there weren't as many tables and it wasn't loud so I could easily converse with my friend without background boise. My friend and I did the Chef's Select Menu and it was only $78 dollars per person! I felt this was quite affordable and seemed it would be worth it to get a little bit of everything on the menu. The Chef's Select Menu included 10 selections + soft serve for dessert. We got to pick one item from each section and two items from the Robatayaki section. The waiter told us the portions are tapas/appetizer sized and made for sharing. We started off with the Tuna Tartare from the cold section which included avocado, chili oil, and rice pearl. This is a MUST from this section. Next we had the Duck Scrapple Bao from the small section which consisted of maple teriyaki, cucumber, and chili. This tasted a little bit like seafood and I wasn't exactly sure why. I didn't finish it all because I wanted to save space for the other items. From the Robatayaki section, we ordered 2 meats: the Kobe beef and the lamb chop. Two skewers of Kobe beef and two lamb chops were included. Both were FANTASTIC! Well cooked, tender and melt in your mouth (which is my personal favorite). From the crispy section, we got the shrimp taco which was a tad spicy but absolutely delicious! From the meat section, we got the Wagyu Bavette which consisted of japanese sweet potato, miso butter, and bonito. This was AMAZING!!! Soooo freaking tasty and fresh. I loved this dish. From the fish section, we ordered the Branzino. This dish came with the tail on the plate, however I felt it smelled and tasted "fishy" so it definitely was not my favorite. From the sides section, we ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts which consisted of scallion, fish sauce, and crispy rice. They were delicious!! Really enjoyed this dish. From the sushi/sashimi section, we got Toro + Soy + Caviar which was freaking AMAZING!!!!! The picture absolutely does not do it justice. From the rolls/handrolls section, we got the Double Knot Big Eye Tuna which came with 4 rolls cut perfectly. With the spicy mayo, this roll was SO good. The soft serve was vanilla/chocolate swirl with a banana/caramel flavor mixed in. It was smooth, however I was pretty full by this point so I didn't finish it all. Giving 4 stars just because of the Branzino and the duck bao bun. Overall, I loved this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the vibe and the decor. I will absolutely be back!!! read more

Our first impression wasn't so great. We were all very excited to try this new restaurant and had a reservation. So, we were surprised when we were initially seated by the boisterous bar. Upon request, the hostess found us a better table in the dining room. In fact, the booth was surpringly quiet (by Delray standards) and comfortable. Our server, Sonny, was one of the best we've had anywhere. He was friendly, knew the menu really well, and was attentive. The menu is challenging because there are so many great choices. We decided to go with the chef's select menu. Sonny walked us through the choices. Note: everyone at your table must agree on the same choice for each category. It's a great deal and offers 10+ choices. All at our table enjoyed each course. They have an interesting and good selection of cocktails. I just tried this place out for the first time and I am not one to leave reviews but we got a glass of wine and one of our glasses were dirty and there was stuff floating in the wine. Then, our food came out and we noticed the plate had left over food dried stuck and our sushi had hair on it. Then to make up for it they refilled our wine and grabbed one of our glasses to fill up the other glass. Which is unbelievably unsanitary considering we have already been drinking out of these glasses. At this point, we were concerned to eat the food but ate it regardless, which I will say was fantastic. We were still charged for the only TWO things we didn't complain about. I was really excited about this and I think this place does have the potential if they get up to speed with sanitary procedures. read more

With their impressive pedigree, I was expecting more on a stop in during happy hour. Their suprisingly small bar, which is odd for new construction venues, was full, so we ventured into the very large main dining room. I do like that they offer their HH in the entire restaurant. The restaurant is new, polished... my favorite spot is the Sushi Bar that's off the main room, sort of an exclusive feel to it. Service was spotty, food too... only open a couple of weeks, I look for things to improve, but often multi-unit operators come out of the box swinging by bringing in talent from other venues... not here. Spicy Tuna Roll and Pork Potstikers were good, but ordinary. I liked the Kim Chee Fried Rice and the Ribeye Scallion Robo skewers a lot. Japanese Fried Chicken was a surprising disappointment, didn't taste like chicken. Pork Bao just ok. Next visit I'll go with a few friends so we can order a bunch of things. My feeling is the Robatayaki section and the Sushi are the way to go. read more

I have now visited the (relatively) newly opened Double Knot twice -- once for Happy Hour and once for Dinner service. Overall, there is A LOT to like about this place and it starts with the front of the house. You are always warmly welcomed upon entering, and the staff I have encountered are all incredibly friendly. The other non-food-related big deal to me is the noise level. Kudos to Double Knot for keeping the music at a volume where you can still hold a conversation at your table. I've sat in both the front (bar area) and the back of the restaurant, and had zero problems speaking with folks. I have now tried several dishes and really have enjoyed the vast majority. Double Knot has an extensive menu with many selections that catch my eye, so it will take a while to work my way through it. All good --- I plan to be back plenty! A big standout for me so far has been the absolutely delicious shrimp tacos. The Happy Hour portion was two tacos, while the dinner portion is 3. They are chock-full of shrimp and really incredibly on-point (shrimp tacos are one of my benchmark food items). Prices seem really reasonable for the Avenue, relative to the quality and quantity of the food, as well as the service and beautiful ambiance. The one downside is that food is brought out as it is ready. The issue with that is that you do find yourself with a plate of food in front of you while the rest of the table may be waiting for theirs. I am a firm believer that if you order something hot, you eat it while it is still hot. If it is a cold app/side/entree, easy enough to wait, but it can be awkward. I think it would be helpful if Double Knot would put out bowls of fried wontons and sauce for people to pick at since everyone is not served at the same time -- but this is a chain, and it makes it highly unlikely that anything will change. Just be aware. The only other issue I see is that relative to the size of the restaurant, the bar area is really way too small. I say this because I can easily see wanting to stop by for drinks and a few small plates, sitting at the bar, but good luck getting a seat. I applaud Double Knot for not cramping the front of the restaurant, but in season, the bar is really going to be out of play based on its size. My Beli rating: 8.7 read more

From the minute we walked in we knew that we had arrived at "our kind of place!" this is distinctly an upscale well designed and extremely well executed dining concept. Great cocktail menu with really wonderfully executed drinks. We had several and all of them were dynamite. Fantastic sushi, as well as a lot of creative twists, an Asian themes that were excellently executed. Don't miss the dumplings or the skewers. And obviously you can't go wrong with the sushi. Food was amazing. Service was friendly but uneven due to bar being slow. We were there on a Friday night and the side of the bar on the left facing the dining area was just stacked with dirty glasses because they were getting slammed. Our server was really good but the restaurant lost profit on alcohol orders because they just could not get drinks delivered timely. I will absolutely go back; just not on a Friday. Did I mention the food was amazing? If the Bar process was better organized, this would be a five star review. The sushi is good, but try the other stuff because that's so special! read more

Double Knot really disappointed and it's more of an investor driven restaurant than anything resembling a genuine Sushi experience and there really seems to be a lack of understanding of what Japanese food is. We tried various items including nigiri, sashimi and rolls and all lacked the freshness and quality we were expecting and BTW that was the best part of dinner as it got worse. A beef item was chewy and tough and this was just left on the plate. A soft serve ice cream looked okay but even this was not good and was basic and dull and like other items at Double Knot was just not worth eating. We ending up ditching the restaurant and went to another Delray restaurant to eat. read more

Topknot is not my favorite restaurant. The space is very pretty and the staff was friendly, but the acoustics were poor and the music was very loud. My friend and I were sitting across from each other and could barely hear one another. Our waitress was also difficult to understand due to the noise and her accent. We were surprised by how busy the restaurant was on a rainy Sunday night, which likely added to the noise level. We were hoping for hot sake and soup, but they don't serve either. We had the cold sake instead, which was actually pretty good. My friend ordered two types of sushi and said it was very fresh--some of the freshest she's ever had. Overall, while the restaurant is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the sushi is good, the noise level and limited menu made the experience less enjoyable than expected. Since we live within walking distance, we were really hoping it would become a go-to spot, but unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations. read more

Pretentious and Overpriced. I was invited to go here, and arrived and seated immediately. Then my friend joined me and told me what was good, since he had been there before. We ordered some drinks, and they fucked up the drink order. I ordered 2 Leche Martinis and 2 pear cocktails with plum wine. 1 Leche Martini and 1 Pear Cocktail. 15 minutes later, our waiter came back and I asked to take the Pear Cocktail off my bill and asked to bring us my original Leche martini, and 2 more since the service was sporatic. The edemame was fine, the boa buns were fine, the dumplings were hard (over fried). The California roll was tiny. It was Hobbit sized, as was the Spicy Tuna roll. The sashimi was fine, nothing special. This restaurant is a very pretentious, overpriced place with mediocre service. I wouldn't recommend going here. read more

My husband and I came to Double Knot for date night. We were immediately blown away by the trendy and warm ambiance both inside and surrounding the restaurant in Sundy Village. Food was delicious! Standout items were the cheesesteak bao and the miso cod fried rice - everything we had was amazing. We were especially impressed with our amazing server, Avont. He was an amazing guide to the menu and his positive energy was infectious. We felt so taken care of all night and can't wait to come back for the other half of the menu that we weren't able to tackle in one visit lol. read more

I've lived in Delray for 9 years and have eaten at every restaurant the town has to offer 100's of times - Double Knot is by FAR the best food I've eaten. Maybe even ever? I would come back tomorrow, and the next day. We had the chef's tasting menu... incredible the portion size for the price. I'll be dreaming about this place until I come back. We went twice; a party of three then four of us. The food is excellent; they offer small bites and a regular menu. We ordered from both and were delighted with our choices. Japanese minced clam was attractively presented and chicken on skewers, seafood in small taco shells almost too pretty to eat. Service was attentive with explanations of special offerings of the day. The setting is placid and conducive to a pleasant dining experience. The only drawback is parking. An apartment complex is directly across and restaurant parking can be nonexistent making for a very long walk. read more

I along with my group I was with was thoroughly impressed with the Double Knot. We went in a Tuesday night so it wasn't super busy but a good amount of people. Service was great and they were very attentive. We all did a collection of small plates as they don't have any larger dishes. We tried the Edamame, Pork Gyoza, Japanese Fried Chicken, Chicken Thigh Robatyaki, Beef Robatayaki, Yellowtail sashimi, shrimp tempura roll, spicy scallop roll and the mushroom fried rice. This place was a fun and nice dining experience despite it being slightly pricey. We got full off the collection of dishes actually and felt it was worth the price. We went to Double Knot in Delray on Saturday 4 days after they opened. Not enjoyable. to start the wine pour was small. Food came out sporadically; one dish was even served inappropriately and had to wait for the correction. Service was slow and poor with wrong dishes arriving at our table.
