Really cool late night spot. It's like a Japanese version of an Irish pub. They have a late night happy hour menu that has great deals. This time it was served in a measuring cup..... last time it was served classic fishbowl style in a fishbowl so that was strange. When we ordered we said "we will take a fishbowl" as they are normally a drink one would split at $30 a piece, we each received one measuring cup each, again strange and I just assumed they maybe didn't have any fishbowls and just split it for us. We walked by this place several times hanging around downtown always looked really cool, but we could never really make it with the kids. So on our anniversary, we went here early and had a little bit of everything. The sake was really good. The appetizers were all spot on and the sushi actually to my surprise was just a bit of a notch above Sushi Yama. And im not knocking sushi yama we love it. The flavor and the little tiny crispies and things like that that they added to it just brought it just a notch above so it's really good. I left here begging, but it wasn't for more. It was for relief. What was amazing, years ago, was tired, greasy and rubbery. I got physically ill , after eating the rubbery beef on the unseasoned awful yakitori stick. The gyoza looked pretty, but they were a soggy, greasy mess that was a shadow of what they made in past days. The place smells of methane that hasn't been cleared out of a pipe somewhere. The table was so filthy that putting our arms on it came up with all kinds of soy and sticky things. Gross! We knew we wanted sushi but also wanted to go somewhere new to us. Yelp guided us to Beg for More, and with the reviews and photos we were sold on it. Made reservations but upon arrival realized they weren't needed. Place was not busy, maybe 2 tables occupied and the bar all open. We grabbed two seats at the bar and were immediately served with iced waters and menus. This was 7pm on a Saturday so, I'm assuming it would get busier a bit later. But this was no issue for us, as our food came out quickly and service was also and on point. Most of their drink menu was sake or whiskey, and the rest seemed sweet, but our bartender suggested the lychee martini and just as he promised it was not too sweet and strong. Off to a good start! The our plates started coming out as they were ready, kind of like tapas style: - Edamame: We had the option of having it with sea salt, spicy sauce or garlic sauce. I went with the classic sea salt. No way you can go wrong with that. - Shishito Peppers: delicious! Not too spicy and great for sharing. There were 6 on the plate. - Gyoza Plate: the gyoza itself was great but I was not a fan of the crispy part. I love simple steamed ones without any fried parts in/ on it. - Salmon Yakitori: nice smoky flavor - Picasso Roll: was good but presentation said more than the flavor itself - Salmon Roll: as simple as this is, I loved it!! You could taste how fresh the salmon was and enjoy it, without anything overpowering it. Glad we found this place and got to enjoy some good food and service. The servers don't know the menu and just walk back and forth in this tiny place not bring any food and when they do it comes cold. We needed a late night spot to go to so we figured we would try this place. We ordered a tuna bowl and the kiss of fire- which has shrimp and sushi rice. The sushi was pretty good, I wouldn't say out of this world great, but it worked for a late night snack. A young lady was celebrating her birthday so that was fun. Someone was sleeping on the couch. I've been here a couple times for date night and each time the food is always great! The bok choy is my favorite. I've gotten a few different rolls - the Picasso, Tastes Like my Ex, and the Check-In You Out All Day roll. Sushi is always spot on. A couple other plates that I've enjoyed are the crispy tuna, gyoza, kimchee with pork belly, and the shrimp bao buns. Really haven't had anything that I wasn't happy with. I've had the kimchee fried rice and it's good, but I'm not a huge fan of the shredded nori on top. Whenever I've been, there's only been a few people at the bar and maybe two other tables. Service is normally pretty slow, so make sure you order a drink right when you sit down. Once drinks come, put the food order in and you'll be fine. read more

When you walk in, make sure you are aware of what door to walk into. It's a tiny little place off of Atlantic Avenue in Delray & quite a tasty one at that. Prices were a little on the high end, quality of food was exceptional, & service was quick & with a smile. Remember that this is a Japanese tapas place so be ready to share & share a lot. I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. So quiet and quaint, located just off the beaten path. Small, quality menu & everyone that was there, so happy; even the staff. Food was prepared perfectly, even the Secret Roll. Shhhhh. They won't tell you what's in it. A small Japanese Izakaya in Delray Beach. If you didn't know, an Izakaya is a Japanese bar where they also sell small dishes and snacks that accompany your drinks. I've only been to another restaurant styled like this in Orlando (Susuru) that was bigger than this one. Beg For More has a very intimate feel. Luckily we were the only ones in here and I'm guessing it was because the new Delray Beach Market just opened up. Plus this is located off of the main "shopping strip." We came in for drinks because we saw photos of specialty cocktails on their Yelp page- mainly the cocktails in a pouch and ones that come with a popsicle. Unfortunately, those are specials and they didn't have them at this time. We stayed anyways and grabbed a few drinks. They were alright, very strong so that is a plus since the drinks were pretty pricey. I ordered the Detox Water which was FAR from a detox. It was very sweet and I'm glad the waiter offered to have the grenadine on the side. I asked for a suggestion of which cocktail to get and wanted one with a pretty presentation so our waiter offered this drink since it came in a measuring cup. The idea of it was cute but when it came out, it was in a very dirty looking cup and the grenadine came in a syringe that also didn't look the cleanest. The rest of the table's cocktails were also okay according to my friends. A good note is they have $6 sake bombs but they weren't that big. It was a little more than half a glass of beer and a small shot of sake. We also had chicken and beef yakitori which were good (definitely get the chicken.) Our waiter was so friendly and kind. This place is my favorite type of hole in the wall that gives off an intimate feel so I wouldn't mind trying it again in case they were just having an off day. I stopped by lunch and got the Beg for More Roll. It is a shrimp tempura roll with tuna, crab and avocado. Their sushi roll was so delicious and fresh. The tempura on the shrimp is definitely different than other places since it is very crispy with an amazing flavor. I wonder what they put in their batter. The gyoza platter is to die for! It's basically a platter of gyozas and they have to be pulled apart in order for you to eat it. What a great food experience I had at Beg for More. A place I would definitely recommend. read more
