Visited this establishment on a date night with the husband. The atmosphere was perfect for what I was looking for. Dim lighting, good bartenders and great food. We had amazing drinks. The steak was perfectly cooked to a medium and the oysters were deliciously satisfying! We went to Double Standard for date night. Parking downtown is always a pain and can be expensive but if you're patient you might be able to find a spot on the street- we did! The place was pretty busy when we arrived but we found two seats at the bar with no problems. Our bartender was so fast and gave us excellent food and drink recommendations. Everything was delicious! Stopped in during the pre-rodeo celebration in town. It was crazy inside and out. Good bartenders. Great margaritas. The wife had a dozen oysters since they were $1/each during happy hour. We also got some very good crispy fries. We should have gotten more to eat but met some new friends and went to the next stop. We will be back. I was not sure what to expect .. I was pleasantly surprised with the mix of New York diner and subway flair as you walk in and then backed with an English pub decor the further you walk in. When you're downtown and want to unwind, this is a place to go. The food is always delicious. My go to are the oysters on a half shell. You have to order at the bar so depending how busy it is can be slow, but it's always very good. I love the decor in here. It's a little bit of a throwback. Their drinks are always good. read more

I've been here a couple times for drinks when visiting town, but my visit tonight was nothing short of frustrating. I arrived around 9:50 PM after a very long work day, ordered an Old Fashioned and a burger, and opened a tab. My burger and drink arrived, but that was the last time I was acknowledged. Despite being seated at the bar and still eating my food, my drink sat empty for 40 minutes. I watched the bartenders chat with what appeared to be regulars while I was essentially ignored (on what I'd consider a slow night, there weren't many people there) One bartender even stood directly in front of my barstool at the POS for several minutes without so much as a glance in my direction. Not once did anyone check in or offer to refill my drink. It wasn't until 10:57, almost an hour after my food arrived, that I managed to get the attention of a bartender just to close out. I travel for work and frequent the hotel next door, and am currently here planning a move to the area. After this experience, I would not consider returning or recommending it to anyone. Service here is completely lacking, and the indifference shown to customers is inexcusable. read more

our hotel had a big group check out pretty late and we needed somewhere to kill some time, so double standard it was! Their patio is tiny however, it was very welcoming to our small dog. We arrived just in time for happy hour, which included one dollar oysters. So obviously we needed to get that! They were small but delicious. hubs had two local IPAs draft, which were amazing. I had two cocktails (Saturn & a seasonal Christmas cocktail) that, while delicious, both had very similar taste. You might lose your voice trying to talk to the person across the table from you. We went for happy hour. The east coast oysters are $1. Good value but it ends there. The beer is $5 for an 8oz and a shot which is good in theory but since there isn't assigned seating or waiters your drinks will most likely be give to the wrong patron and then you'll have to wait another 10 minutes for them to remake your drink and get it to you. And the shot isn't even a full shot. Go if you must, to say you went. But we won't be returning. read more

Found this place while looking for a good burger joint for date night. Pros: The food is delicious and the portions are large while remaining cheap. Double really is the standard as they give you double fries and Double shots for all drinks. The food came out fast and was hot and fresh and cooked very well. The atmosphere was welcoming (Similar to a speak easy) and the seating was comfortable and slightly intimate. Cons: There are no waiters, so you will be expected to order your food and drinks at the bar although you might be seated at a table. Some might not consider that an inconvenience but I thought it was due to the fact that it seemed no bartender was willing to help. We were just tossed from one person to another until we were finally directed to the register. Which is awkwardly placed in the middle of the bar rather than at either end. Thankfully the check out process went a lot smoother than the ordering process. Experience: We did enjoy ourselves, and even with the hiccup and confusion of ordering, we would love to go back. The food and atmosphere are worth it for such cheap pricing. Came here for Happy Hour with the girls. This bar has a large selection of drinks with a good atmosphere. We were here nearing the end of HH so it was still relatively quiet with some folks working on their laptops and others, such as ourselves ready to get the weekend started! We got a table by the window and had to go up to the bar to place our drink and food orders. My margarita was pretty good however my salad was drenched in salad dressing so much that the lettuce was wilted and the dressing was overflowing off the small plate. Overall, a good spot to get drinks and connect with friends but I probably won't be ordering food from here again! read more
