I also noticed the huge case with tons of desserts and said I have to try at least one. Once seated our waitress came over and took our drink order. The menu has so much stuff in it! Like it was so hard to choose just one thing. Then, with such good prices you could order as much or as little as you want! The waitress She also helped tell us what were the best sellers on the menu. The manager also came over to check on us. He asked us if it was our first time and we said yes! He thought we came often. I said not yet. So I started off with the buttermilk pancakes. You get 3 for $6.99. Then I got the crab cake sandwich with fries and vegetable soup. My sister ordered the cowboy burger I believe and wanted it well done. She got her meal with fries and chicken and rice soup. When I tell you that those pancakes made me not want to go back to IHOP anymore... I swear I enjoyed every pillowy bite. Those pancakes are money. My crab cake was huge. The sandwich tasted really good. I couldn't finish it but it definitely tasted good. I want a fan of the vegetable soup, too many vegetables and not enough broth. My sisters burger came out medium well instead but she still loved it. Her chicken and rice soup was delicious and she finished all of hers. We definitely enjoyed the place. Although the waitress didn't come often enough, the food experience was nice. We saw the manager more than the waitress. He kept checking on us and letting us know things about the restaurant. This place has an overwhelming number of menu items. From omelettes to chicken livers, Double T Diner has something to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. The exterior and interior look like downgraded Silver Diner with the same layout, color scheme and all. I had the Double T burger with sweet potato fries which was extremely under seasoned and dry. My medium rare burger was almost well done and the fries were soft and bland. The entree came with a Matzo ball soup which was ok but overly salty. The fries came in a generous portion which was way too much food for one sitting. I would have rather had the option of burger and fries only for a few dollars less. The best part of the dinner was the service. The food came out hot and quickly. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. I love this place. Since covid we now get take out once a week from here. We always get 2 orders of chicken parm and it feeds 2 adults and 3 small kids, usually with leftovers. It comes with soup but salad is now about $3 extra. I like the caeser but don't think it is worth the additional charge. And it comes with garlic bread. Delicious!! read more

The best diner ever. We've been traveling for three weeks and eating at all types of places. I had the Turkey club on rye with fries and the cream of crab soup first. Just oh my goodness. My guy had fresh tilapia, fries and fresh broccoli. His meal came with soup and he had the chicken noodle - if not fresh noodles they sure fooled me. The fish was lightly breaded and pan fried to perfection. We're sat at the counter which was just perfect. The server was very sweet and attentive. Looking at the other meals coming out I realized that this is the place to go. Free parking, clean, extensive menu and great food. We'll be heading out in a day or so but we promised ourselves that we'll eat there again before we're go. read more

This spot completely caught me off guard. Visiting the area on business and stopped in for a quick breakfast on day. Absolutely the best place for any meal. I love their crab cakes. Their menu is very extensive which can be overwhelming. I tried the shrimp salad sandwich last time and it was pretty good. The shrimp were big and plentiful. The fries were thin, so I didn't like them as much. The cream of crab soup was thick but had alot of crab inside. Now the next day trying to eat the shrimp salad and it was awful. I had to update my review because the diner really disappointed me tonite. However, I will say that DeShaun was my waiter and he was wonderful! Very attentive and personable. The cannoli cheesecake was HEAVEN. The stars are for DeShaun and cheesecake only. Now for the bad...I ordered pasta with vodka sauce and the sauce came out white. In what world is vodka sauce white?? So, I never write reviews. Ever. But my experience here tonight was one to warrant a review. My partner and I met up with some friends to hit up Third Eye this evening and were getting pretty hungry and craving diner food, so we decided to hit up Double T to satiate that and because our friends haven't been to Double T before. I wanted to call out our server, Jesse (I hope I spelled your name correctly!) for being absolutely AMAZING!! I went to order the deli lox omelet, but asked if it was possible to ensure my food was cooked separately and away from any sort of land animal meat as I have pretty bad alpha gal syndrome, which is a meat allergy from being bitten by a lone star tick. This wonderful man went above and beyond to check with the kitchen and the absolute saint of the owner, John (Jon?) to see if it were possible and was so understanding to my situation and actually cared. John, the owner, cleaned a part of the grill off and cooked my food himself to ensure I would be able to eat what I've been craving safely without any sort of issue. These two made my night and honestly the rest of my year. I was in tears from how happy I was that these two were so understanding and cared so much about my food allergy to make sure my experience was a good one. No other place I've been to has been this accommodating. So with all that being said, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! My partner and I have always loved Double T and it's been our go-to for when we want solid diner food and this experience has solidified it as a forever staple in our lives and someplace I can go out to eat safely and not worry about having an allergic reaction afterwards from my meal being cross-contaminated with meat. Definitely your typical diner. The wait staff is friendly & welcoming. The menu has your classic sandwiches, wraps, paninis, pancakes, & egg breakfast platters. Double T is a clean restaurant. The food is okay, nothing special. I ordered a chicken caprese sandwich with a side of chicken noodle soup and fries. The sandwich was massive. I couldn't finish it all. It was greasy and the chicken was a little dry but the bread was nice & fluffy. The steak fries were cooked well, no complaints. The chicken noodle soup was full of noodles, celery, & carrots and as salty as you'd imagine a typical diner soup. I probably won't be back for a while. read more

Couldnt get the server to come back to my table. Was told that the restaurant was busy and understaffed. as a customer, that is not my problem.. told the manager I didn't want to come back and his response was "good". Eh, pretty standard. I know this place has been around forever (overheard from a table of elderly women: "I have been coming to this place since it first opened! What I am going to order isn't even on the menu anymore!") and it's worth checking out. The restaurant has quite a bit of seating and the menu is extensive. They also sell cakes and pies and pastries and such. You pay up at the front. Service is fine. Portions are huge. For lunch, they have quite a few options for burgers, sandwiches, salads. I ordered the open faced roast beef sandwich, which was just white bread with bland roast beef on top and all of it doused with gravy (which I wasn't expecting). Since it also came with mashed potatoes and gravy, everything just tasted the same. The Maryland crab soup, which has been mentioned in a few reviews, was okay. Nothing special. For the price, it was all fine but nothing to write home about. I'd come back to try their breakfast, but I wasn't all that impressed with their lunch. read more

I love me some classic diner food for breakfast and Double T will not disappoint. I had the corned beef hash with two eggs over easy, home fries, and some toast. Oh and an Irish coffee. Double T's menu is comparable to Cheesecake Factory. A lot of variety - everything done good, not great. It's a large place - so the wait is not usually long. Great diner fare! I'm partial to the breakfast here. My opelette was cooked just right, with the meat cooked into the egg, instead of folded into it.There was no wait, and even though it was a busy Saturday, the restaurant didn't feel crowded. The waitress kept my mug full, and got our meals to us quickly. 4 stars, because the parking is awkward - easy to get in, but very dificult to exit, especially if you need to get back to the highway. read more

Very unpleasant experience from walking in and greeted by a rude female host/cashier, maybe she's the manager. She and maybe a manager argued so loud in front of customers. Our server was very nice but he was new and messed up our order not once, but three times. The coffee was warm. The food has no taste. Both chicken noodle and the Maryland crab soup were cold, with stale crackers. Toward the end of our dinner, heard two more servers arguing. My advise, train your workers properly with some customer etiquette. Ensure they don't bad mouth co-workers to customers. I'm sure it's a nice place with good food but you have to have the right people that are trained well to serve customers. read more

Normally this place has good food but today it was not good. The home fries had so much butter on them which made them inedible. The corn muffin was so incredibly sweet that it was more like a mealy cake. The omelet was mediocre at best. The only good thing was the coffee. The food was not the same as it was a couple of months ago. The spaghetti dinner tasted like plain tomatoes with some parmesan cheese added. The garlic bread didn't taste like it had any garlic. The salmon dinner didn't have much flavor either. We took most of the food home. I will still come to the Double T. Their Thanksgiving dinner is wonderful - I'm getting that the next time. I love potato soup and theirs is the best I've ever had, The only problem is they only serve it on Wednesdays. Ensured our beverage glasses & cups were always full. Very attentive & friendly! French toast was slightly crispy around the edges, just like my son likes. OK we went here late on Saturday night, it was not too packed and I was pleasantly surprised with the attentiveness of the servers even though it was passed midnight. Food was good, I had a Greek Salad (lots of feta, great DOLMAs) and a cup of Matzo ball soup (mmm - my favorite). My hubby had a buffalo chicken sandwich. He was not as happy with the sauce (served on the side and looked more like ketchup with hot sauce in it). But the chicken itself was super yum! So were the steak fries!!! MMMMMM. It's a diner and it reminds me of all the New York Diners in which you can sit at the bar, you can sit in a booth, you can sit in the middle of the floor for all anyone cares. I heard the sound of milk shakes being made. I saw the owner walking around with his grump inspecting all that was going on. You ever walk into a restaurant and were completely floored by the display? I could barely make my way over to the booth because of all the desserts in the class case. Why would you taunt someone like that? All the mini cheesecakes were enough to bring me in. They were so cute! Especially the key lime ones. She explained all of the specials and went over the extremely detailed menu. The only other diner I've been to with such an impressive selection was a few miles away at the Silver Diner at Tysons Corner. At first, I was overwhelmed because I always feel as though I should try something new when I'm at a restaurant I might never go to again, but I found a familiar looking name on the menu and stuck with it. Chicken Ala Francais... or Francese. Whatever. The last time I had it was maybe six years ago when Captain's Galley in West Haven, CT, was still in business. Drawn like a moth to a flame, I ordered it. My co-workers ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and a French dip, both with a side of fries. Not gonna lie, their food really didn't look as exciting as mine. I was proud. lol My lunch/dinner came with a soup and salad. I ordered a Caesar salad and got the soup of the day: matzo ball! Did I tell you it was my first time trying a matzo ball? De.Lish. Why haven't I tried them sooner? Then, the holy of all holies arrived. It reminded me of how chicken francese used to taste when I was a child. The chicken was tender, not dry and chewy. The sauce felt a little canned-like, but the flavours were all there. The lemon was juuuuust sweet enough to enhance the chicken without making it taste like a lemon bar and the egg made it the perfect consistency. Smooth and creamy with a homemade mouthfeel. I would have licked the plate clean if I didn't care about being in public. I'm just upset that they didn't have any spinach. Chicken francese, ala francais, whatever you call it... It's normally served over cooked spinach, but all they had was rice with spinach in it. Don't get me wrong, the rice was nice. Nice rice. I thought i was gonna hate it, but I ate every bit of it. The texture was like pudding that had some give to it. I was digging it. But no spinach? At all? Please? It's unpretentious. It's a diner. Not the best diner food I've ever had, but also never unsettlingly bad. The Supreme Burger was cooked well, the brioche bun exceptional but it was overall too much. Patty almost 2 inches thick, 5 onion rings and what looked like 3 sides of bacon. It was supreme all right. Delicious, but an almost disturbing amount of food. The wrap was fine, but had not a grain of salt or other seasoning. It also sat under a heat lamp for a while killing the avocado, but accompanying home fries were nice and crispy (probably over for some, but perfect for me). Coffee fresh. Don't let the parking lot fool you because it stays packed, but once you enter, tables are always available. The menu is the size of a phone book, so you have plenty of options to chose from. This spot is very good on feeding you well and giving you options to choose from. This also comes to a disadvantage. It's considered a Greek owned diner that serves American cuisine. The amount of options is overwhelming. The menu is so all over the place you don't know where to start. As for the food, some dishes are better than others . I would say the soups and salads are decent as well as the breakfast. The portions are plentiful. By the time you get to your main course your so stuffed you have to request a take home box. The price points are really good. I would've given them a better start rating had my last experience been different. I requested scrambled eggs with cheese. I had my young son with me and needed to hit a breakfast spot that could handle his possible uproars. Ahhh the Double T. It's always crowded; it must be half-way decent. I'm so glad we gave it a chance. Our breakfast was delicious. His challah bread french toast was so good. (wish I had ordered that!) Everything was very tasty. The sausage is not to be missed either. This is your classic late night greasy spoon and they serve everything here. Ive had the crab cakes before and this time I opted for the reuben which was tasty.
