Came here from the recommendation of a friend who has lived in the area for a while and the food here did not disappoint! This place will probably become one of my favorites soon as the prices were quite fair for the huge portion size, the interior was comfortable, and all the options on their menu looked delicious. The service was also quick and friendly throughout and I was able to be seated without having to wait during the late morning. For me, the preparation is definitely in the zone of comfort food. The banana cream pie pancakes were creamy and rich without being excessively sweet. The banana flavor really came out well here and the pancakes were nice and fluffy with the slightest hint of malt. Similarly the chocolate chip pancakes were fairly loaded with chocolate chips on top, tied together with a strong dose of chocolate syrup. The meat lovers skillet was as advertised with plenty of cheese and potatoes and a mix of sausage, ham, and bacon. This wasn't overly salty or oily however despite all the components in the dish. The crispy chocolate peanut butter stuffed french toast was really a treat for the dessert lover in me. I was surprised at how crispy the dish was and I think that the peanut butter was slightly seared and a little melty which created a delicious combination right out of the kitchen. This really inspired me to try the standard stuffed and apple stuffed french toast as well, which I expect to prepared equally as well. Overall, great experience and great prices will have me coming back here in the future. My husband and I went to Double Yolk Pancake House with a friend after he recommended going there. This restaurant has a clear police/military theme. This restaurant has some amazing food, which you would expect if it is frequented by first responders. I was going to get a pancakes or waffle dish before my husband suggested the French toast. And I'm glad that he did. I had the Crispy Chocolate Peanut Butter Stuffed French Toast. The French toast had a crispy corn flakes crust. The chocolate and peanut butter sauce on top was a wonderful addition. It didn't require any syrup. Our server checked in on us frequently. We had a really good meal for a really good price. No Gluten Free pancake mix, no non-dairy cooking spray today. Wife has food allergies. Big time. Dairy. Gluten. Dining out sucks for her. Was happy to find some time ago that Double Yolk has non-dairy gluten free pancakes. For a bonus - toss some blueberries in the batter and she's a happy girl. Not today. Was told that the restaurant was out of gluten free pancake mix. OK, I get that - stuff gets back-ordered. Sucks, but it happens. Time to execute plan B. A couple of eggs, cooked in non-dairy cooking spray. Told that they can't do that - only available cooking spray contains butter ("butter flavored" means "has dairy"). And showing no flexibility or imagination from the kitchen - there was no offer to cook them in alternative things like vegetable or olive oil. Not one peep, not one word from the kitchen or manager. That's called failed service, a missed opportunity to satisfy the customer. So no eggs or breakfast for her. So - we're probably done with Double Yolk. Don't want to be the customer that has to call before hand to see if you have the items we want to order in stock in your kitchen. And you're the chef, I shouldn't have to tell you that there are acceptable cooking alternatives in your kitchen. You made it clear to us today that our business is not important to you. Update to manager/owner's comment: issue with asking about the cooking spray is to avoid instances of cooking with butter or other oils/etc. that contain dairy. Our experience is that most restaurants have spray oils in their kitchen. Using straight oil would not, in our case, have presented a health issue - consuming something with dairy would be. Please don't make assumptions - if there's a way to satisfy the customer's order - please confer with the customer to verify if that's acceptable. Better in my book than just saying "sorry..." That's where you ultimately failed today. Re: our server - she was great - she made every effort to go back to the kitchen to satisfy our order - this was out of her hands. read more

We met friends there we had not seen in a while and were able to sit and chitchat for a couple of hours without being hustled out. Decent breakfast spot. We stopped in one morning for a quick breakfast after seeing the generally favorable reviews. The restaurant wasn't crowded so we were seated immediately. I can't recall our waitresses name, but she did her job. She wasn't very friendly and didn't provide service with a smile or anything though. She just had a very matter-of-fact, robotic like demeanor like it was just another blah day on the job for her. I opted for the hungry man breakfast. It came with bacon, sausage (patty and link), eggs, hash browns, and toast. I didn't care for the sausage, but everything else was pretty good. Nothing spectacular or anything, but it was edible. My sister had the french connection which was french toast, eggs, sausage and bacon. She liked her food sans the sausage... My mom also had the french toast with a side of bacon. They wouldn't allow her to substitute Texas toast (bread) for raisin bread though. She frequently makes this requests because she likes her french toast made with raisin bread and it's never an issue. It was strange that this place doesn't allow it. I can say food & service was good. The lady that took my order was polite and friendly. I ordered the mini waffles that were topped with fresh fruit. Would've liked the waffle to be a little crispy. My co-workers food was just right! Staff/cooks forgot to add butter and syrup to my order. I called immediately and staff member was very apologetic. Asked if I wanted or could come back to get it. I told her I couldn't as I was at work. She was nice enough to comp me for that. I appreciated that she did that for me. Omelette comes with hash browns or American potatoes, filling but just okay. The best side item were the pancakes. The atmosphere for Sunday brunch is light, bright and lively. Our food order was on the table within 15 minutes. That's pretty good. We had to request water at our table. That should be standard. Bathroom is small but clean. Had a fella lurking behind me waiting for the urinal, with an open privy ... really just use the privy. No reflection on Double Yolk, however. My husband and I (6'3" and 6'1" respectively, and not "tiny" people haha) got seated at the smallest table I had ever been stuck at in my life. Our coffee cups fit, and that was about it. I had to keep silverware on my lap for lack of anywhere else to place it. The place was packed with extremely loud children. I know they can't help it, but that's not what I hope for at 9am on a Sunday morning. Maybe it was the weird back room we were placed in (which was also freezing), but who knows. The coffee was alright. It was your typical lacking-flavor diner coffee. But it was refilled often so that's alright. I had the Greek skillet, and I found the flavor to be really lacking. There was hardly any gyro meat, when other restaurants have really piled it on before. I got one tiny cup of tzazitki sauce, which sparingly made it through half the skillet. The pancakes seemed like they were straight out of a box mix, which I can do myself and pay a lot less for. I don't think our waitress smiled once (probably all the screaming kids), but she wasn't rude at all either. I'm happy we ventured out to a new breakfast spot, but unfortunately we will not be returning. Also, they advertise gelato but certainly did not have any in the freezers. Maybe it's only a summer thing? Or the inventory is kept in the kitchen? Might not be something to have your hopes set on! read more

I have been going here for years. Since Tammy has taken this restaurant over the quality of the food is amazing. Since Covid-19 happened, we've been staying at home, but decided to visit today and picked up our meals and went to the Fox River out at Fabyan Park and ate and watched nature and listened so some zen music. I tell ya, it was perfection. I love all of their food. The service is amazing and even the pick up is amazing. These guys do an amazing job!!! Come here for the first time. Saturday morning at 10 expecting a wait and bad service. Surprised at being seated immediately. We had a party of 5. Service was terrific. Food was hot and plentiful. Greek diner feel. I've been here a several times already and the service here is good they're friendly and nice. The food is pretty good and according to they're name 1 egg comes with 2 yolks sorta of say "if you order 2 eggs you get 4". For some reason parking here gets packed for breakfast and kinda sucks because there's not enough parking. They is additional parking in the back too though.
