Solid pizza and pizza rolls. Not the best I've ever had but I've not had a particularly bad experience from them. Their pizza rolls could definitely use more mozzarella in them, but oh well. They're reasonably priced and reliably decent, while they're not the best pizza in Austin, they're probably my favorite location in the Southpark area. read more

Thank you Joey for reaching out to me. **Original review** I have been to this Double Dave's location at Southpark Meadows for the lunch buffet a few times and the pizza, peproni rolls, etc. are usually hot and fresh, and the salad bar is good enough. Although I live less than 5 miles away they don't deliver to my home address, so last night I placed an online order for carry out. I should have looked at my pizza before leaving the store. By the time I got home in less than 15 minutes, my first reaction when I opened the pizza box was that this pizza had been pre-made and left sitting out for a long time. DOA. I had ordered the pizza of the month, which is currently Steak Pomodoro, a "crispy thin crust with seasoned steak, mozzarella, and homemade Pomodoro sauce". MY PIZZA HAD NO POMODORO SAUCE. I thought they just put a very light amount on it so I pulled off the toppings and still no sauce. There was a handful of diced tomatoes on top of the pizza. Was this the elusive "homemade Pomodoro sauce" I was searching for? I would have posted a photo with my revue but after eating one cold, dead slice the rest went straight into the trash. I also ordered 3 peproni rolls and they were stingy with the fillings. A whole lot of roll and not much pepperoni, cheese, or sauce inside. Incredibly disappointed to say the least. I have gone here for years and one day I went with a group of friends and we were standing in front of the register and the workers were just talking in the back looking at us. We stood there for 3-5 min then we decided to leave because they kept talking and they knew we were there. So that was my last time going there. read more

As far as pizza goes this place is pretty terrible. Super greasy and mediocre quality ingredients. However, they do make these things called Peproni Rolls (spelled incorrectly on purpose I guess). These are their one saving grace. However, I'm never coming here again, even for the rolls. Gross. I think I might actually throw up after this meal. read more

I like to go at lunch and catch the well stocked buffet - includes fresh salad fixins and 10 or so different pizzas AND the pep rolls, stromboli, cheese stix and these wonderfully delicious dessert stromboli things with blueberries and strawberries and.......ummmmm. My favorite Double Dave's location! It's spacious and their lunch buffet is always full of right-out-of-the-oven pizza in all kinds of flavors to suit everyone's tastes. The salad bar is clean and fresh. And I love their soda machine that will mix any flavor of soda you want (hello, vanilla Dr. Pepper!). My favorite is the philly cheesesteak stromboli, always loaded with cheese. We use these guys for delivery from time to time too. Always fast. Their mobile website is very well designed and easy to use for those times you just can't get off the couch to order a pizza (yeah, you know I'm talking to you!). read more

Whenever I go to South Park Meadows I make an effort to go to Double Dave's. Most times I wait there for the bus and enjoy a pint.

Not too bad for delivery. I ordered the Chocolate Chip Pizza, garlic and spinach Stromboli, and the chicken Parmesan stuffer. It came out to $24, with a $5 tip. It was pretty good, and they're generous with their size portions. I would order again, but I would not order the Garlic and Spinach Stromboli. I just thought they over did the garlic and spinach. More mozzarella cheese and vegetables would have been good addition to this Stromboli. read more

Clean, local and delicious. Unsure what else you can want in a pizza place. Try the honey on the dough, a clever way to get you into "dessert" pizza. Most delcious dough around. Limited seating sometimes. More outside, but not comfy when it is cold!! read more

We went to Double Dave's on Friday afternoon. The guy behind the counter was super nice, it probably helps that we came at an odd time and not many people were there. Last time I'd been to a Double Dave's was about 7 years ago and for the buffet. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. We got a deep dish and a thin crust. The deep dish is a wonderful mix of fluffy bread with a nice crunchy bottom. A plus is that it's NOT greasy! I'm already killing myself with the thick crust I don't need it dripping on top and bottom from grease. The thin crust was nice and crisp. The toppings were yummy and I just can't find something to complain about there. We also got a chocolate chip pizza. Now that's a deal for a dessert! $4.99 for 8 slices of sweetness. As for staying power, we took a lot home. the day after we ate it straight out of the fridge. No weird tastes and still good. Although I think I enjoyed the leftover dessert more than the pizza. So yeah, I recommend this place. Let's keep this over indulgent Friday meal between us. read more

I've been living in Austin for a few years now and after my wife and I wanting to try some place we haven't been to before, we finally decided to try DoubleDaves Pizzaworks. After reading there reviews, we thought, It can not be that bad. The place was very clean. The staff was friendly and the food I had was very good. We ordered a cheese pizza and I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and the wife had the Philly Cheese steak. The buffalo chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious. It had the kick of buffalo chicken, but the spice did not overpower the taste of the sandwich itself which I personally enjoyed. I also tried the Philly steak sandwich and that too was very good. The meat was not dried out like most other places I have been. The Pizza was good, but sadly not the best but than again, I am from NY and most people know, NY'rs brag about NY pizza and how there is nothing better than that.... Don't get me wrong, the pizza was good but in my opinion, the crust was lacking something, just not sure what....maybe they can season it a little. In all honesty, the only thing I can say I didn't care for at DoubleDaves is the soda machine....it's the same machine that most Jack in the Box restaurants use, the ones where you can make up to like, 700 different flavor combinations. Some people may like it, but if you just want to drink a plain Coke or whatnot, you can not get a plain tasting coke, they all have a hint of a fruity flavor....but than they do have very good sweet tea. So, with me having a positive experience on my first visit, I will definitely be taking a trip back to DoubleDaves, since there is a few more things on there menu that I would love to try and I will be sure to recommend others there. read more

The pizza is perfectly made and it taste amazing, although it does contain tons of grease. I would definitely recommend getting pizza from here, although the buffet is not very big and half the time there is only a little bit of pizza up there so you have to wait for them to put more and for a buffet a top priority should be making sure there is plenty of food for all the people in the restaurant to choose from but I can't say I blame the staff because I see them work hard even in the tiny kitchen, and I feel that they are short staffed which effects how fast pizza gets out drastically BUT when the pizza does come out, it taste amazing every time. Urny and his staff are always on the ball keeping stuff fresh and tasty. They always ask me if I have any requests for them to cook for the buffet while I am there. This place is great. Double Daves Was AWFUL. We did a delivery order from them, the sad thing is they are less than a half a mile away and a hour and half later our pizza showed up late and cold. They forgot our salads we orded but dont worry they got delivered 30 minutes later. It was the worse pizza we've ever had, and we only ate a slice and threw the rest away. I like my $1 pizza at the grocery store better. But if you want bad pizza and spend to 30 bucks on it go for it. read more

The pizza rolls are great no matter the location BUT Southpark meadows is disappointing after going to the William Cannon location for so long. We really wanted to love our pizza but it was mediocre at best. We ordered Super Daves thin and crispy well done. NOTHING about it was crispy or well done. Honestly I don't do reviews often. I ordered a pizza at the start of a large group of people. I understand that orders get missed, but after 30 minutes and everyone else getting their orders I complain. They decide to argue with me that there is no possible way that my order got missed/misplaced. Went back a 2nd time 20 min later and decide to cancel, still arguing that there is no possible way that they messed up. Screw this place. read more

The worst service EVER!!!!!! I will never be getting pizza from double Dave's again! I ordered pizza and rolls the total coming to $41 rather expensive from the online site. waited about an hour and 10 minuets before calling the store wondering what happened to the food. I was told that there was a glitch in the system and it would be another 45 minutes for the food to arrive. I said no I want my money back. after the guy on the phone stopped arguing with me he said bye and hung up. I tried calling back but was put on hold. so wanting my money I went to the store in South Park Meadows. after asking for the manager someone came out and flat out asked "what do you want?" I said my money back for the food I never got, just like I told you on the phone before you hung up on me. he then got up in my face and said to follow him outside mind you I said I won't be following you anywhere and to get out of my face he tried to give me $60 and said he said now we are even. I said no you owe me $41 and I want corporates number. he wrote the number on the back of the card and said good luck. then as I was exiting the store he apologized to all the other angry customers saying that I was a crazy. never again I tell you.
