Been dying to try Tucci's but they close early so I always forget that. However I made it today got me a Philly cheesesteak sandwich small ( big size tho) the service was amazing excellent ambiance very chill !!! A little pricey but delicious subs also gotta try the Brooklyn cookie !!

As someone who lived in Chicago most of her life, every once in a while I miss some good Chicago food. This place definitely delivered. All their sandwiches are amazing, and they have a pretty good Italian beef.

    Gourmet Italian still good here

Welp, I've been going to Tucci's (mostly the William Cannon location) for many years now, dating back to early 2000's. When I discovered them I was so happy with their quality, their portions, and Boarshead meat - wow. You got a respectable amount of meat - even though they were slightly higher priced than usual - it was worth it. My go-to's have been the Italian, sometimes the Fried Bologna, and that Grandma's Hot Ham and Swiss. I think I've had the Philly Cheesesteak before - it was good but lacking in steak. That Italian is always loaded with nice slices of meat - a real sandwich! On my past few visits I've been rather disappointed. The taste and the quality are still there, but the Grandma's Ham & Swiss has now shrunk from a sandwich to a slider. See my pic - my hands are not NBA-sized, yet I can completely cover up this sandwich. I mean - like 4 bites and you're done. Never used to be able to do that. Plus there is hardly any ham inside, it's sliced super thin, and it costs more now - - as good as it tastes it's just not worth the exuberant price. This is so very disappointing. The Italian Gourmet has held up. Quality still good, get enough meat in there, I asked for extra onions and lettuce and sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. So I do highl;y recommend that. The Fried Bologna - oh geez - that's a cheap meat and the meat portion of what we got was really meager. This think used to be a big solid sandwich, but not anymore. It's like you get mostly bread when you bite into it, the bologna is a secondary item. We've had this many times before in the past and the last 2 here have been so disappointing. The Philly Cheesesteak - same theme as the Fried Bologna and Ham n Swiss - - lacking the main ingredient, the cheesesteak. I mean you bite into this and it's like the bread is the main ingredient here. So ridiculous, so disappointing. Because the portions are so minute now, and prices have increased, we don't go back here anymore - not nearly as much as we used to. I mean we used to eat their sandwiches at least 3-4x a month, sometimes more. Now? Maybe once every 3 months, and when I get the mood for that Italian - I'll go back for that. But we'll skip on the Bologna, the Cheesesteak, and the Grandma's Ham n Swiss. They've cut the meat portions down so much you're just eating warm bread.

Went today and had one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, Chicago beef with provolone cheese on white with Au Jus for dip. Excellent flavor tender and great with melted cheese.

I saw a few other reviews complaining about the size of this sandwich in particular, but I found it to be just the right amount!! The sandwich was hot and delicious! Everyone was very kind and I look forward to returning to try other subs! The service is a bit on the slow side so don't expect sandwiches to be ready immediately.

I'm from Los Angeles, and have been to many high end and hip restaurants, this was definitely up there with some of the best restaurants. Food: Crab tagliatelle is a must! This dish was delicious and everything you can ask for from a pasta. Gnocchi special with Peas and Asperagus is a must. This creamy and feather light dish was packed with so much flavour. Lobster scalloping was very good as well and so was the filet mignon. But best of all were the side of carrots, pear and endive salad and the Cho salad. Sammie's has been hyped up on social media for a long time and I gotta say it's still underrated! I will gladly have Sammie's take the Pepsi challenge against red sauce joints in NYC/NJ etc. In fact, I've told friends and family that I am going to take them to Sammie's when they visit from there. We just had such a fantastic experience - everything..the vibe..the red light fixtures and the color of the booths and the floor..the service - our server was great..loved their outfits..really had an old school little italy feel to it. The food was much better than I even anticipated - as a guy who grew up on NJ diner mozzarella sticks, I have a high bar for them and these were magnificent. And seriously...taking the "everything's bigger in Texas" slogan and applying them to mozzarella sticks?! top 10 achievements of the decade. The chicken parm was perfect - well seasoned, proper amount of crisp..the basil on top...the perfect browning of the cheese. Also the lasanga was excellent..and best part - the leftovers..took it home and the next two days put them in a small cast iron and re-heated them..and the magic was right there in my hill country kitchen! Lastly and certainly not least - the cannoli...just look at the photo below.. I'll say, yes, the place is pricey but you can really easily split these entrees and then it becomes cheaper than a jersey strip center Italian joint. I haven't stopped raving about Sammie's since I've been there, and I cannot wait to return, recommend it, and take friends and family that visit.

As it turns out the coupon was only good during the week and it was Saturday. No big deal. I ordered a Meatball Sandwich, my friend an Italian Sandwich (after asking our excellent young waitress about it). She brought out two very tasty types of bread with olive oil for dipping. The sandwiches came with Garlic Fries. The Fries were delicious but unfortunately mine were lukewarm. I certainly could have asked for a fresh portion, but was hungry enough not to bother. That's the reason my rating wasn't 5 Star. Because the restaurant was pretty empty on this Saturday afternoon, I feel the Chef shouldn't have sent out fries that weren't piping hot. The Meatball Sandwich however was marvelous. Freshly made, tasty meatballs with sauce and cheese on their focaccia bread was a real treat. I took half home and ate the rest for dinner. All in all, I'd come back here again as the food was excellent as well as the service.
