Don't bother with the buffet, not stocked, old and cold. The employees are all on their phones while the salad bar is completely unfilled and quite frankly, just plain sad looking. The pizzas on the buffet are old and cold and range from beef, to pepperoni, to a barbecue chicken pizza. That one was actually good because it was right out of the oven and hot and fresh, the thing about that though, I didn't come to a buffet to have only one decent piece of pizza. They also did put out fresh pepperoni rolls, those would have been greatly improved if there was some hot marinara for dipping. There were also two different dessert pizzas. The C02 tank is out, so they offered up canned sodas. The guy behind the counter said they would put out a certain pizza we asked about, then he forgot to get the other employee on his phone to actually make it. I had to ask /remind him about it well into our visit so TBH, at this point we will probably leave before it even comes out. The booth seats are the most uncomfortable seats I have ever had to sit in, hard to explain, but trust me on that one. Just everything about this one time only visit was flat out bad . Even after asking about the pizza, still not out, and to make matters even worse, I went looking into the kitchen area, separated by a glass wall to see if I could make out a progress report, sorry I did that. The dude/cook, with super long hair, not pulled back, and literally just on his phone minutes earlier, is using his bare hands to make pizzas. I would completely pass on this place . The buffet is best after watching movies at AMC theater or if you're going to watch tv while eating. If you arrive late enough and there is food at the buffet order a pizza and while you're waiting they may just let you have some slices if the restaurant is empty and you stay while they make your pizza. The staff is very kind and engages with the customers well. They also have a great variety of pizza from the classics to freestyle pizzas even dessert pizza. I have come here multiple times for the pizza buffet and it is always stocked and fresh. The salad bar is actually crisp salad with a nice variety of toppings. You can request for a specific type of pizza to be made and put on the buffet if nothing suits your fancy. They have delicious dessert pizzas too, the apple one is my favorite! DD has gone down lately. Hubby and I normally come in for a salad. The last two times we have come, the salad bar needs refills while the guys are standing around laughing and talking. There have been times when we have gone and it was so so. Today was horrible. It was after 11 when we arrived. Very little on buffet and cold. We waited and waited, very little coming out. I remember when this place opened: the buffet was the best! The pizzas were hot, they constantly replaced "cold" ones, and they had a variety! 12:30 on a Tuesday, and I'm pretty sure the pizzas have been out since they opened. They're cold, the cheese is congealed, and for $15 I should have gone to a real pizza place and bought a whole gourmet pizza - it would have been money better spent. Customer service: greeted when walked in the door and the prep cook frequently said they'd be right with me (and they were). Huge plus! I'm still on the fence about the chocolate chip pizza. Not because it wasn't good. I just know it wasn't good for me. It was actually really good and surprisingly not too sweet. I cannot speak to the take out pizza, but the buffet is not very good. I hadn't been here in 6 months due to previous bad experiences, but thought I would give it another try since I was in the area waiting for an RX at HEB (same shopping center). There was never much pizza out (2 cheese stayed there for an hour though). Pizza that did come out was gone in minutes, and they were not that busy. Overall, just a bad experience. If you cannot keep pizzas on a buffet, then something is wrong. Regarding service, if there is something happening to prevent a full buffet, just let me know before I pay. Telling me after I have already paid that you cannot make a certain pizza because you do not have the ingredients, or telling me you cannot make the pepperoni rolls because you do not have the correct cheese is unacceptable. Let me make an informed decision. 6 months from now, when I think I might try this again, I'm going to try to remember this review and try someplace else. read more

Even though today when I went they didn't have any wings because of shipment not arriving on time. The manager still offered me free pizza. After giving me a refund. I inquired about the $4.99 small pizza and what type of pizza I needed to order for that price. I decided to go ask for a refund for my drink since I saw there was zero sense of urgency or effort on behalf of the staff to address the mold growing all over their soft drink station. The man who appeared to be a manager, did not even know how to process a refund and had to call on the first employee who assisted me. Don't understand why ordering a pizza and I'm picking up takes an hour especially when no one is dining inside. This has always been the issue with this place food is good but so incredibly slow on getting it out to the customer. I have noticed a few times the kids working there tend to have too many side conversations instead of making sure they are staying on task. I had to hold my nose at the counter while we all paid $15 the food was not worth it nor was the service. Every was extremely dirty even our plates. I came in for the pizza buffet. I was able to pretty much try out their whole menu haha. I tried their pizza rolls, cheesy bread, Stromboli, dessert pizza, and almost every type of topping on regular pizzas. I was also able to try all 4 of their crusts which were hand-tossed, thin, deep dish, and honey wheat. The service was great and the staff were very courteous. You will not find a better pizza buffet anywhere. Their dough is tasty and they use quality ingredients for their toppings. Mind you the quality is not up to par with some of the fancier pizza places but that's expected. I wouldn't order pizza for takeout, but thats just because I am very bougie when it comes to pizza so I'd go for some woodfired place. The thing that sets them apart in my opinion, is their small team. If you want to have your meal disturbed by the manager screaming and yelling at the staff- then this is the place! After ordering and waiting for our meal to be made - the manager screamed, yelled, belittled and humiliated the staff about how do so their jobs. It was over the top unnecessary. My kids were shocked and asked- is that ok? NO. It's not ok. It was disgusting how she behaved. Teachable moment for my kids for sure. I reached out to the owner to advise. The response was pitiful. Basically 'the pressure can cause employees to lose their composure'. Nothing about coaching or best practices. Not quite the response to retain my business. So I may be biased from my days in college (Texas A&M) when Double Dave's hosted 25 cent beer and pep'roni roll nights, but Double Dave's has some of the best pizza around. Also, Double Dave's introduced me to dipping pizza into ranch dressing (until you try it-don't make that face). I am happy to now have a Double Dave's nearby so I can eat there whenever I want. This location has buffet for lunch every day and at night only on certain nights (I know Sunday and Wednesday). Other than that, you can always order off the menu. All items are made with fresh ingredients and the dough is hand tossed - this location has a viewing window where you can see the inner workings of the kitchen. For my money, the buffet is the way to go. They'll make any pizza you want and even give you the whole thing if you want. The buffet has my three favorite sins on it - cheese sticks, pep'roni rolls, and philly cheesesteak stromboli. If you don't know what those are head to your nearest DD now...I'll wait until you get back to keep writing.... The buffet includes draft BEER and refills are $1!!!! So, if nothing else, Wed. night rolls around, you're not that hungry, but want a beer and want to watch some sports-you see where I'm going with this. The place is decorated like some thrift store exploded inside a hunting lodge and all the junk covered up most of the animal heads. They have a few big screen TVs, on is usually some kind of sports, the other alternates sports and cartoons. There's a game room area with a few video games. It's clean and the folks running the show are nice. Kids at least under 6 are free which is a great deal for a family dinner. I love pizza and I kept it simple this go around simply because the prices are a bit high in my opinion. They charge almost $2 more per topping. I got a large pepperoni pizza and it was delicious, definitely a fan of the crust as well. It was 15" with 10 slices for about $13 bucks. I have to say I'm full, however the pizza was pretty greasy. I'd suggest coming during their buffets in the afternoon to get more bang for your buck. The actual place is really nice though and the employees were very kind.
