Awesome show and great music!! I like the integration of comedy here and about (Mr. Hershey kisses is too funny ) Time and money well spent.

Doug signs, plays a mean muffler, and tickles the ivories.

Not sure where to begin. This show called "#1 Hits" or something like that, is a collection of, yep, you guessed it, number one hits from across several time periods. Another reviewer said it pretty well, Doug is fantastic but the rest of the show leaves a lot to be desired. You get the sense Doug has been around for while and just appreciates performing. He is a great singer and his years of performing experience really comes through. Doug, or as he is referenced at one point during the show - "Dug", really makes people feel at home which is partly due to the small theatre but also his cool, casual, and genuine demeanor. He also thanks each and every person on their way out. No literally, he stood in the lobby and shook everyones hand as they left. The show goes south in a hurry when his son, playing the role of comic relief, starts his bit. His high energy, cocky, in your face attitude does not fit the show at all. In more ways than one. Often times it is irritating and you find yourself rooting against him or you feel awkward for watching it. His only clever and funny part came during the Chariots of Fire song. (I won't spoil it for you.) Actually, he also did well during the audience interaction part when one of the audience members "Rod" was on stage and he did this strange leg dance move, the son picked up on it and worked it in. One person said it well as Jim Carrey doing slap stick which describes it well but I would go further and say it is a cross between Jim Carrey and Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld) doing bad slapstick comedy. He is either running, jumping, or flopping around on stage in a distracting way. Perhaps, as one person mentioned, a few tweaks would really go a long way. If only his character came across as a hard working and sympathetic cast member instead of (using a phrase from the older generation) "a young punk", it might work better. Either way, the show would have been a 4 star show if it wasn't for the distraction. He enjoys being on stage and has a good presence, but playing that role is no good. His wife, 16 year old daughter, and the other son also join him on stage. At one point, even his pregnant (due early 2015) daughter-in-law joins the cast. All the pieces start to come together that this is a real family production because you start to recognize their faces from earlier in the lobby working the concession, ticket counter, and gift shop. The wife sings ok. At one point the daughter sang a Taylor Swift song but I think the older crowd all had blank looks on their faces. Apparently he is in a new location from previous years and the address in Yelp is incorrect. The theatre is located on the main strip, behind Olive Garden, but a ways down the hill. The theatre itself isn't really visible from the road so you have to rely on the sign to turn into the place. Strangely, the sign was not lighted at night - or at least this night it wasn't. I knew where I was going so It didn't bother me but I could see how others may not easily be able to find it. Everything else is lighted in Branson, why not his sign. It's priced at $30 and if you look hard enough you can find a $5 coupon. Unfortunately, its current production needs to be tweaked before I recommended this show to anyone.

We got close parking to the building and near the exit. When you enter; we went to the right side of the building. Once we got there, we took a picture in front of the building. Inside, we weren't rushed to go to the bathroom & get some concessions. We sat in the upper deck in the middle. Specifically, row KK seats 53 & 54. I've been to Sight and Sound 2 other times and sat in the lower seats... I think I would prefer to sit lower.... Up top, we could see everyone's phones on, people having to stand up and leave- which I know is so picky of me but I would pay the extra money to sit lower. I will say, a perk of sitting up top is the bathrooms and exit way to the lobby that is quicker to exit & way less crowded! The only thing is concessions aren't served upstairs (I think, not for sure on this) We saw David! My theological nerd of a husband had some beef with wanting more exposition especially with Solomon and the temple but I thought it was great use of the limited time they have! They walked us through his young boy years, Samuel anointing him, his relationship with Saul & Jonathan, hiding in the cave, becoming king, Bathsheba, and ended with his confrontation with Nathan and a redemption song. The emphasis was on David wanting to know God's heart and be known by God intimately. Really spoke to me personally in this season. I do think seeing Jesus was my favorite because it's the gospels. My husband says his favorite is Esther. But honestly, anything you see will be good. The ushers are amazing! They were keeping an eye out on anyone who needed anything-even working in the pitch dark to escort parents or children out. They have quiet rooms for families in the back & good seating for those in wheelchairs or anything else. At the end of the show, they have cast members and S&S staff available to pray with anyone who needs anything & they do an altar call for salvation, which is EPIC! They give space for people to encounter God and be walked through prayer.

From where we started at the White River Landing, everything was smooth and well organized. The landing itself is charming, especially in the evening with string lights and a couple of shops designed to match the showboat's vintage aesthetic. There was a dedicated priority boarding line for Captain's Club guests that started on time and before general admission, so we avoided any wait. Staff efficiently guided us through boarding (complete with photo opportunity with an option to purchase later) and to our seats in the dining area. The dining experience was outstanding thanks to our attentive server and other dining staff. With Captain's Club, we enjoyed a menu to choose from, were served ahead of the general admission guests, and the food arrived quickly. During dinner, the show with the Rivertown Ramblers was energetic, also well-organized, and highly entertaining. The talented vocalists and musicians delivered a fantastic performance. The combination of the scenic cruise, great food, priority service, and live entertainment made for a memorable evening and one of the highlights of our Branson trip. I highly recommend the Showboat to anyone visiting and definitely upgrade to Captain's Club if you can.

We discovered The Petersens through YouTube about six months ago, and our entire family has fallen in love with their music. We also adore who they appear to be as people. In person, they were just as genuine as they appear online. We very much enjoyed meeting them and seeing them perform. Our children go around the house singing Petersens songs. Well, maybe not just the children. It was a thrill for all of us to attend their show. There were new songs and pleasant surprises, but also enough familiar tunes that we love so much. There were also plenty of laughs. My wife pointed out to me later that the show ended up being an hour and forty-five minutes long. Wow! The time flew by. The musicianship, arrangements, and harmonies stand out to me more than anything. They are so good! Please go check out their show if you can. Even if you are someone who doesn't know their music, I am confident that you would enjoy the experience.
