Came here on a Sunday afternoon after cleaning house all day.... We walked in to a fabulous smell and really good greetings from the very well staffed restaurant. I ordered a blue raspberry lemonade and the mrs got a pineapple upside down cocktail. Both were really good!! The waiter was friendly but a bit slow... I'm very hard to keep up with because I tend to drink fast. I ordered chicken Alfredo and the mrs ordered chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Both were really good. The bill including her alcoholic drink was under 40 bucks before tip. Highly recommend this place!! read more

Always delicious. This little shop is known for its pretzel bread sandwiches and snacks but the homemade soups and salad dressings are equally as delicious...maybe even more so. You can not beat the quality, taste, variety and price. A great lunch spot with a variety of sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, pizza, pasta, treats and more. I love their chef and tropical salad and always struggle with a complimenting sandwich or soup choice, however, with their low prices I often opt for both. Some of the rudest staff we've ever been in contact with. We stopped in for the first time today and it wasn't immediately clear where to go to check in as the hostess stand is through another doorway. We stood behind people that were checking out at the counter and the other employee seemed weirdly angry with us when we asked where we needed to go for a table. We went to check in and were told the wait time was an hour. I turned to ask my friend if she was willing to wait because we had just finished a two hour hike and were pretty hungry. This prompted the woman who was handing out pagers to go on a rant in this snotty tone about the wait time before either of us had even said a word. It was just a really uncomfortable experience overall. We ended up leaving and won't be returning in the future. Life's too short to be treated that way while waiting around for mediocre-looking food. We found another restaurant in the area and had a great lunch. read more

Located in Kimmswick MO it's a cute little cottage like business!! You walk in to the most adorable gift shop, then go to the back where you get seated in the cutest nooks! The food was really good and for the price you get alot! Between a glass of wine, appetizer and main course it will be less then 20! But don't be stingy and tip well! It's always a pleasant visit to dough depot. Their staff is very friendly and welcoming. & their food tastes amazing no matter what you get. It's quite a popular place which is why they may have wait times during lunch rush. But they are very fast even when there may be a wait! My favorite thing to get is the pizza pretzel bites. You get 2 toppings and it's an up charge to add more (I think). The open face ham & cheese, chili, and the cappuccino are some others that I like! Definitely worth the visit. read more

The food was good. We ate outside and there was plenty of shade and a big fan, so we weren't hot even though temperature was 81. Fortunately I had wet wipes in my purse because the table wasn't clean. The worst thing was the flies. Not sure if a fly strip or some kind of bug zapper would be effective. Wishing I would have just spent the extra time & money and went over to the blue owl for their chicken salad. I assumed since the menu says they recommend their pretzel bread that meant they didn't automatically stick everything on pretzel bread but I was wrong for assuming that. Needless to say I got a chicken salad on a pretzel & no the two are not good together. Aside from the poor choice of bread the chicken salad itself had nothing but Mayo in it. The menu promises more, but I didn't get that, and neither did my sister who ordered the same. Also, they chop the salad toppings making it hard to fish them out. I mean, you'd think anyone that knows anything about cooking knows you don't chop toppings for salad unless it's a chopped salad. Toppings fall to the bottom...why am I giving cooking lessons to an established restaurant?! Ugh. I do not recommend this place. The pretzel isn't even good. This little town has grabbed my interest lately since my office is literally 1 mile away and the company I work for bought a booth for this town's strawberry festival. Plus, I wasn't too sure of what this place was all about, but I had a decent idea. Thankfully, my yelp comrades from nearby this area have excellent opinions and I'll find myself swaying in their direction...letting their experiences guide. Okay, the Dough Depot is totally cool! And.....I don't really know how to convey a review without totally ripping off other's reviews, because one's like Holly's hit the nail on the head. They do have that old historic building with the cute little shop in the front and a small cozy dining area in the back. The wait time to sit inside was 30 min and I was just one head...the place was packed..mind you this was around 12:25 pm when I had arrived. That's your prime lunch time.....time. I was asked by a waitress if I'd like to be seated or go out to the patio where there is no wait time, order at the window, and they just bring out your order. What do you all think I chose? It's a gorgeous day today, the sun's out, some clouds for shade, and a teasing breeze...the patio was big, and seating plentiful. Honestly, I don't know why anybody chose to sit inside and take the wait? After scanning through all the options they had to offer, I had opted for what they told me was the hometown favorite. The "Marketstreet Special", smoked turkey, ham, bacon, and provel cheese served warm with mayo, lettuce, and tomato all in between their "famous" pretzel bread. The entree was served with a bag of lay's potato chips, pickle spear, and I had their freshly brewed sweet tea. There's a saying that "less is more"....and it was delicious in all it's simpleness. I was really fond of the town's atmosphere, and although the visitor's seemed touristy I noticed a great percentage of locals here too. When I see the locals here and vouching for what they've got here...it speaks volumes to me. I'll definitely come back here! There are plenty of other things on their menu I'm dying to try..They look like they have A LOT of great Ice Cream options and the since the summer time is here now...it'd be great to get a cool treat from a spot like this. Also, a heads up to the ladies who gotta get their wine fix too. I noticed they have a nice variety of "Frozen" Wine drinks, and their 16oz (largest) is only $4.00! read more
