Food was pretty good, very pricey. $15.00 for 2 eggs, a biscuit, potatoes and a coffee. I did order off of the À la cart menu, so that is a little bit my fault. There were two tickets waiting ahead of mine as I ordered, it still took 20 minutes to get my food. There were two other tables in the dining room and both had their food by the time I entered. I also paid $3.00 for a cup of coffee and did not receive a refill, (Not sure if that is the norm). The manager was in the dining room interviewing potential employees but I still did not see any staff except when I received my food. I called with a very last minute request to get a pie to a special someone on their birthday, and Anna went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help - quite literally went out of her way. Pies are mediocre at best. Extremely over priced! $30.00 a pie. We had the pecan and the apple for Thanksgiving. The pecan pie had chocolate in it and was awful! No real filling and not very many pecans. The apple was ok, way too much pastry and cheap on the filling. Tasted ok. We will not be going back, unfortunately. The cool name drew us in. Best pie. To die for quiche. The simple salad tastes like no other salad I've ever had; simple, fresh, the greens are bright and crunchy and the radishes are so tasty. The savory pie is always an adventure. Perrie has a way of surprising your palette. The Grammie Sammie redefines meatloaf and makes it fresh and cutting edge again. And the Thunderkiss cold brew makes this non coffee drinker drink coffee. There's nothing I've had I haven't loved. And I've had nearly everything. A staple in my weekly outing. I'll be honest- I am not a huge fan of the pies here: I got the lemon-lavender once and it tasted like straight-up eggs. The other pies are okay but the crusts are kind of dry and I find them expensive for the price. HOWEVER: the other pastries are delicious (I tried scones, biscuits, sweet breads) and their breakfast is absolutely amazing!!! I very much like the atmosphere: the natural light pouring in, the plants, the decor: it's a great place to hang out and grab some tasty breakfast. I also wish the hours were a bit more extended. I'd often like to come here with friends for an afternoon snack but they close by 4pm which makes it hard. read more

I live in Clintonville and I was craving something sweet, so I stopped there, I asked the cashier what the empanadas were fill with, she rolled her eyes and told me " they is a sign, you can read it" then I asked for a cookie she just put in the counter and didnt say anything no thanks, have a nice day or even a smile. I paid 3 dollars for oatmeal cookie (expensive but was very good) I will not come back. Its a sad because i was excited to try their food since I love to support local businesses. read more

A friend of mine raves about this place so when my husband took the day off and wanted to try a new place, I didn't hesitate to suggest Dough Mama. I wanted to love it, I really did, but I was very disappointed. First off, the hostess/cashier was rude and borerline condescending. Second, the food was just "meh". I got an avocado biscuit. The biscuit was cold and fell a part so it was a complete mess to eat and I don't even know where to begin with the dressing on the salad. It was kind of gingery, but also had a weird sour taste - I doubt it was supposed to taste like that. My friend can't explain my experience and in fact just took someone else there who thought it was divine, so maybe I picked the wrong day to go, but based on all the other 4 and 5 star reviews, I expected at least a little consistency. :/ read more

Super amazing! This little cafe reminded me of being back in Austin. The decor is adorable and the food is fantastic. I had the best strawberry cream cheese French toast of my life. The bread was thick and not at all soggy. The topping was fresh and perfectly sweet. My husband had the ham biscuit, which looked fantastic. The coffee is tasty and the fresh squeezed OJ was amazing, but came in the tiniest glass. Downsides - not a lot of seating. It's good for a midweek breakfast but probably not for peak dining hours. The portions are also conservative. I finished everything on my plate but probably could have eaten another few bites. read more

I went for breakfast this morning (their first day!) and this place is phenomenally good. I had a slice of quiche with a salad and a cup of coffee, and my roommate had their ham biscuit. The food was excellent, it came fast, and the coffee was so good; the quiche was flavorful and well made and the biscuit was one of the best I've tried. The waitress and the serving staff was very friendly - and when there was a small flub in our order, they handled it really well and comped us a cookie for our trouble. I really hope that this place does well, it would be nice to have such a cute and delicious bakery in the neighborhood! read more

It was 59f in here! Literally. We could see the thermostat. Why would you not heat for your customers?! Everyone was wearing their coats. I get that it saves money and you might be warmer in the kitchen but look at the nonverbals please...and your thermostat. This shop is so cute. I love the atmosphere and the people are pleasant. I'll try again in a year to let them work out the kinks. There are very limited options on the menu (maybe two brunch items and no pancakes or French toast) and even less for vegetarians who don't eat eggs. It was weird. The name is cute but didn't fit the offerings....where was the dough? Even my non vegetarian friends were displeased. One are a biscuit and the other had the avocado sandwich. They said it was ok but they wouldn't be back. Sad! I want this place to rock, but it doesn't. read more

This is a cute little restaurant--emphasis on little. We came in during the lunch hour on a Saturday, and so it was a little crowded--something about the dining area being a separate room felt a little bit extra squished. I'd be willing to put up with the squeeze though for some of what this place has to offer. Though it felt crowded, I will say that the noise level was deceptively low. We were all sitting so near to one another, so it seemed, but everyone seemed relatively quiet. Maybe it's that the room is so small, the ceilings so low or something. But it was genuinely nice! The specials are changing often, not sure how often specifically, but it's hard to know until you get there what exactly will be on offer. There are a few regular menu items it seems, and one of them is the avocado biscuit, which is what I chose. I would come back to this place specifically just for these biscuits. Not even necessarily the sandwich--just the biscuit. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was good too, but avocado, tomato, egg, etc.--I can make that myself at home, but these biscuits, not sure you could quite get these just anywhere. They remind me of cheddar bay biscuits from Red Lobster only probably 20x better. It was a fantastic biscuit. I would probably only leave 3 stars but for that biscuit--if you ever get a chance, try it out! I would really love to come again and try a quiche or a pot pie sometime--I wasn't feeling what they had the day I was in--salmon quiche and green bean casserole quiche. I also had a piece of...it was a fancy banana cream pie with peanut butter in it, forget what it was called. Also pretty good, not too sweet, though the crust was impossible to put a fork through, as it had a layer of solid chocolate over top of it. My favorite is the bourbon butter pecan - it's rich, chock full o nuts and has a layer of yummy chocolate on the bottom which makes the buttery crust just perfection! As far as sammies go, personally the turkey meatloaf is da bomb! It's meatloaf with an updated twist and its better than my grandma's original, served on toast!
