It's a good value and it tastes really good. And as far as pastries go, I don't feel like it's excessively sweet or color. You don't feel guilty eating it. So when I got the bing on my phone showing they had a St. Patrick's Day special buy a drink at a pastry. I headed that way. The young lady that works there is always very kind She'll take good care of you She said I could pick out any pastry that you wanted from the case didn't matter really the price as long as it was in the sandwich or a piece of cake so without looking at the price, I ordered an Irish Creme. Latte I went to go pick up my pastry. I settled on a strawberry custard pastry Came back and when she told me my total of just under nine dollars, I nearly died because that meant my coffee was nine dollars. Again that's my fault. I didn't read the sign. I didn't look at the price. I just assumed that no coffee would be in nine dollars. Lol. Lesson learned read their signs.!!! Ha ha. She was very sweet. She offered to change it out, which I took two sips of it and took her up on it as I hated it bwhy? Personal preference. It was just too sweet (for me) and tasted like a mocha. I asked her to make me a regular latte with steam milk. I went over to the bar bar, added some cinnamon to the top of it. And honestly, it tasted great for coffee that comes from a machine where you just press the button. I went home and I ate my pastry, which was delicious I highly recommend any of the pastries that have that custard. Again it just is very light tasting and it's usually paired with fruit and the calories normally are under 400 cal for something like that. As a little occasional sweet treat, I guess I do like it they definitely have nailed the café vibe the black-and-white checkered floor they keep meticulously clean Their little chairs that they have our darling and again I already have stated that I love their patio I think it's a nice family that runs this Despite it being a chain, they are local family. On my most recent visit this month there was a noticeable shift in food quality and service. Our server was new to the team so I give him grace as he ramps up his learning curve. Other issues came from the kitchen. I learned that the tea house is under new management so hopefully they can get up to speed. Issues included: 1)about 45 mins to get our tea. Scones arrived and were eaten before the first drop of tea arrived at our table. Despite being ordered at same time. 2)the orange chicken salad is now shredded instead of ground. It was the unique ground up texture that I loved. I really don't even like chicken salad lol but the old recipe was much better than the new. 3)the carrot salad was basically just carrots with a dollop of dressing in bottom of the cup. The carrots had no dressing on them at all. 4) sausage quiche went half eaten by those who ordered at our table. These may seem like small things but when coupled with multiple requests for water, tea, and waving down the waiter for service it made for a very frustrating visit at what was previously my favorite little restaurant in Columbus. Fortunately the atmosphere is still lovely and the scones, cream and jam were on point.
