Great donuts! As someone who prefers other desserts instead of donuts, this place definitely has changed my mind. The batter must be all high quality ingredients because the donuts are very fluffy. And then talk about toppings- they have so many good sounding options you wish they made mini sizes to try them all! Best to go with a group so you can buy 1/2 dozen and try a bite of each. HALLELUJAH DOUGH IS MORE EASILY ACCESSIBLE (and oops, I can already feel the diabetes) As a frequent visitor of the original Dough on 19th st, I was thrilled when I found out about this location. Just a stone's throw away from Grand Central Station in the new Urbanspace Vanderbilt food hall (surrounded by 20+ other delicious options), this is literally the most perfect stop for your coffee/donut right after your morning commute (or next food tour stop for all y'all tourists). When I visited at 5 pm on a weekday afternoon, they still had all the usual suspects (aka my favorites of all time), such as the Mocha Almond Crunch, Dulce de Leche, and Cafe au Lait. They also had 2 specials that day, the Ginger Lemon and the Pumpkin, both of which were very enticing (although the specials were 50 cents extra, priced at $3.50). Although their selection varies day to day, I'm a firm believer that you can't go terribly wrong when it comes to any flavor from Dough! For those of you who have never had the pleasure of experiencing one, they are gigantic donuts that are--for lack of a better term, hah--doughy.Bougie prices, yes ($3), but the inventive flavors and chewy texture are mind blowing. And pretty in pictures to boot (yes hello, I'm talking to you, food instagrammers) I obviously scooped up my favorite, the Mocha Almond Crunch. Andddd after taking that coveted first bite... was unfortunately a little disappointed that it was a wee bit drier than what I remember from their original location. I'm not convinced that this little artisanal shop in Urbanspace has made donuts their life's work... Overall though, still better than many of its worthy competitors in town. 4.5 stars, rounded down. It was last morning in NYC and just had to check out this doughnut place. Not being from the city it probably took me a little longer to figure out exactly where it was located. I eventually found it in one of the several UrbanSpace locations. I ordered the Cinnamon-Sugar and the Mocha Almond Crunch doughnut. The doughnuts are rather large so you can get a couple and share them. I tried the Mocha Almond Crunch doughnut first. Y'all...these doughnuts are awesome. They are more dense than a traditional doughnut but not cake doughnuts. The crunch topping was awesome and had actual chunks of sliced almonds. I couldn't stop eating it. The Cinnamon-Sugar doughnut is my go to flavor. It's just a classic combination for doughnuts that I love and you easily can balance out the sweetness with a cup of joe. This Cinnamon-Sugar doughnut lived up to its reputation. Loved it! If y'all happen to come across Dough, grab yourself something sweet! Delectable donut, and the perfect way to satisfy my donut craving. These donuts are huge and fluffy - for $3, it's not bad for New York standards. I had the cafe au lait donut, which I would definitely recommend: crunchy topping, a little salty, sweet, and balanced out well with the fluffiness and chewiness of the donut. For as big as the donut is, since it is so light and airy, I didn't feel super heavy after devouring the entire donut on my own (no shame). Definitely want to come back and try the dulce de leche donut. This is also in a great location: Urbanspace has so many hip, cool, and yummy eateries. You really can't go wrong here, after gorging ourselves on one of the many options that urbanspace has to offer, we split a doughnut three ways and it was a huge mistake. I've walked passed their stand multiple times. They've always looked so scrumptious and beautifully displayed. I finally decided to try one and I was rather underwhelmed. I tried the horchata flavored one. The glaze itself tasted good however the dough itself was plain and there was so much of it! It wasn't particularly dry but it was nothing special. I ended up eating the thin glaze off of the top and what I was left with was a thick bagel looking thing of underwhelming flavorless bready cake. If you're looking for a great donut I would suggest The Doughnut Plant or The Donut Pub. read more

I thought the mocha had a better flavor - much stronger coffee zing with a nice nut crunch topping. The dulche de leche came with almond slices on top, which added a nice crunch, but the flavors were muted. They did offer a nice variety of flavor combinations. If you're a yeast doughnut aficionado, I could see this place going over really well. I would not, however, make a special trip out for these otherwise. read more

Dough donuts is absolutely one of the best donuts I have ever tried! Strawberry cream is my favorite. The donuts are very fluffy and have a dense. They are huge like a bagel though (about two inches tall and more than enough for two people to share one donut). So if you want a small, quick bite, desert type donuts this probably does not fit your need, but it is definitely worth it to try! read more

OMG!!! The lemon poppy seed doughnut is SCRUMPTIOUS and ZESTY!!! The texture of this sinful delight is so fresh and doughnutty! I'm excited to try some of the other flavors. Very average yeast doughnuts. I got the dulche de leche and coffee latte flavors. They are large doughnuts, but neither one of them had that much flavor. Overall the only thing you could really taste was sugar and they seemed a bit dry. Maybe if you really like yeast doughnuts you would like it. Personally I would skip this place. read more

I've been to this location of Dough the most - it happens to be pretty close to the office - but I have also had a chance to stop by their small shop in Flatiron as well. There's not much to say about the kind of food they have here, especially at this location...you know you're going to be getting yourself a big, plump donut. Don't expect them to be as cheap as Dunkin' or Krispy Kreme, but they are plenty big enough such that unless you are absolutely starving, it can be pretty tough to polish even one of these off. Although you can get something a bit standard-variety like glazed here (and their glazed donuts are nice and fluffy, with a nice sugar glaze without over- or under-doing it), they do get into more interesting flavors, frostings, and toppings. My favorite, though, is one of the smaller-looking donuts - a powdered donut that is packed like a jelly-filled donut...but with Nutella instead. The combination of the sugar-coated and dusted donut, along with the rich hazelnut spread, is quite fantastic. I have also had a donut topped with almond shavings with what nearly resembled a nutty maple frosting that was also solid. I can't say I have tried every last flavor, but the quality of the donuts is pretty good, and there are a bunch of interesting things to try. If anything, the main downside is that the donuts are really a bit too large for my liking, and polishing one off will make you stuffed. It is a nice place to stop for a shared treat, though! read more

Overall: 4 As I got to Grand Central a local suggested I get a donut at Dough. It is kind of a tricky place to find so just make sure you are going to into Urbanspace, that is where you will find Dough. They had a good selection of donuts. They will not have your traditional maple bars or things like that. They are going to have round donuts with different flavors that you have probably dreamed of. I got the Horchata donut along with 3 other donuts. They were all great, the flavors werent super sweet and they didnt last forever on your taste buds. But these donuts were different then what ive had in CA. They werent super sweet and they didnt have that super oily feel or that heavy saturated feeling you get after youve eaten one maple bar. They were great, filling but not a heavy and bad feeling.
