Please note that this is a satellite store for the main location on Main Street in Rockford. None of the baking is done at this location. That said the donuts are pretty great. Looks like they are on the well-done side, which I prefer and rustic, meaning they don't look like they were just spit out of some giant machine like Dunkin' Donuts..... I've never had crunchy coconut before it's talked with toasted coconut. I tried a regular chocolate and coconut donut too. It also was pretty great! Service was perfect, the girl actually looked like she enjoyed working here! Definitely not a flashy place, but it gets the job done ... I dropped by Doughboys in Rockford after randomly passing by on a Saturday evening around 4 pm. I didn't expect much. The locals love their donut shops and can sometimes be biased. Most of the donuts were gone and all of the ones left were shifted over to the right shelf. I stood there briefly before the lady in the back come up to help. She was pleasantly nice and threw in a extra donut after it was all said and done. I took my donuts to go and ate them later. I can say they held up well but looked very dry over the hours. The blueberry cake had a flavor that came through and the glazed was sweet with a lovely texture. These donuts were good and probably would have been even greater fresh. read more

Awesome little donut shop. They make such delicious donuts at such a great price! My favorite are the blueberry donuts and cinnamon rolls. I've been there a couple of times to pick up donuts before work and they're always friendly and helpful. Just yesterday afternoon I stopped by because I had a craving for their blueberry donut. They were out, but they still had donut holes. I ordered 10 and they threw in 16 without me realizing it and they didn't charge me for the extras. How generous! :) I also got a cinnamon roll, barbarian creme, cherry donut, and filled long John. The entire box was barely $4.50. You can't beat their price or quality! read more

One of those places, you know it when you see it. Been there a long time, locals in and out, friendly staff, and Wait for it........... Great donuts !! Apple fritter was excellent with a perfect, creamy frosting and plenty of delicious apple bits. It's an older local place where people from the neighborhood come for a cup a coffee and chit chat. The doughnuts are pretty good, nothing fancy like a hipster place. Prices are super cheap. I believe a dozen is under $6. This was my first time actually coming to the doughnut shop. I thought I'd be nice and buy doughnuts for everyone at work. I approached the counter and I got my dozen. As I was about to pay, someone decided to pay it forward and pay for my dozen. I was so thankful. This place not only has good doughnuts, it also has great customers and pretty good service. Super unfriendly! Never again! Good Morning everybody and happy Valentine's Day! Sorry for my English, I'm not from here and I'm still learning. I moved recently to Rockford and pass every morning Doughboys Donuts on 11th Street. Today I stopped to buy a couple Donuts, because it is Valentine's Day. Omg how is it possible to be so unfriendly!!! No good Morning, no smiling nothing to make you feel welcome. I bought 7 Donuts. And when I ask the Teenage girl with the terrible Batic shirt to put it I the box she rolled her eyes. I'm sorry, but it is Valentine's Day, I don't wanna smashed donuts! After I payed I saw little donut balls. I apologized and told her I would love to have some too because there look really good. The girl started to be super pissed at me. On my last day of work, I grabbed a three dozen of these for my co workers. I called in ahead of time and asked them to just give me a variety and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The service was fast and friendy, the donuts are actually pretty good, better than Dunkin Donuts I would say. The variety they gave me was actually loved by the office. The order was around $15 for three dozen so I would call it pretty inexpensive. I was completely satisfied with the service, the donuts and the price as well. read more
