We were in the area when we got hungry and wanted wings. And remembered we drove past once. It's a very casual space and seems to be very popular for birthday dinner. This is a Kosher restaurant. Hubby got the fried wings with Buffalo sauce and I got the grilled wings with Asian Plum sauce and an order of Onion Rings. Onion Rings were huge and seems like a corn meal like batter which makes it extra crispy. It tasted good but it was too crispy for me, felt like it was cutting up the roof of my mouth. Ordered from Door Dash. Food was fresh and well-packed. I love the avocado spring rolls and I love the sweet sauce that comes with it, on the side. The spring rolls were smaller than I expected but "you get what you need", not "what you want." There are two spring rolls and they are enough food as a starter for one person but not enough to share. And they're too delicious to have just one. I love the coconut chicken starter. Crisp outside; very moist inside; just like it should be. Didn't care for the supposedly pina colada sauce that came on the side; it tasted mostly like mayo. So I used the leftover sweet sauce from the avocado spring rolls instead. The Hawaiian sticks I dislike and need to remember not to order this again. I had these several years ago and they haven't improved. They taste mostly like salt and pineapple. I don't want my meat tasting so salty. Dugies is not a restaurant, they had waiters dressed in a hoodie and charge me and my 4 other friends a 15% tip even though we paid separately. They claimed that their store makes requires a tip, but forgot to mention that the back of the menu says this rule only applies by a party of 8 or up. Besides that, they charged 22$ for a salami sandwich, that came with the smallest portions I have ever seen for a place that calls itself a restaurant. This place has gone super down hill. Haven't been here in a while so me and my family decided to go for dinner one night. There were plenty of tables open so we were seated immediately. Right when we sat down we noticed all the glasses on the table were so disgustingly dirty. Apparently that's just how their glasses are so we asked for plastic cups. We ordered a nice amount of food. We ordered sliders and a hot dog and the buns were clearly frozen because they were freezer burnt and they were still ice cold (at least hide the freezer burn and stick it on the grill but no, just gave it to us cold as can be). They got my salad order wrong, but they fixed and remade it quickly so that was good. While we were still eating the waiter comes up to us and said "you done eating? want me to wrap it up?" We were sitting down at the table for about a half hour and he was already kicking us out. Food itself was fine, filled us up so that's what counts. Since we ordered a lot, we obviously couldn't finish it all, and took a lot of food back home. We asked him to wrap up 3 sliders, bowl of chili, wings, poppers, and a kids chicken fingers and french fries (also adding the menu said with the kids dishes it comes with a cookie and we did not receive any). The waiter wrapped it up in a very tight knot in a plastic bag. We took it, paid and left. We come home to see that he only wrapped up 1 slider, he dumped the chili, KIDS chicken nuggets and french fries all in the same container!!!!! Makes so much sense to put spicy chili in the same container as kids food right?? That was supposed to be my kids lunch the next day since they didn't finish it but since every single piece of chicken and fries were covered in chili that was not happening, what a waste! Ridiculous!!! And I don't even know what happened to the other 2 sliders missing. No wonder why he tied a tight knot on the plastic bag. I'm starting with Dougie's because it's a give in, for those who know me. When it comes to Kosher restaurants, you'll always need to expect a few things before even walking in the door. The price is higher than what you'd expect, mainly because Kosher food is more expensive. However, there are many Kosher places like Dougie's that will certainly deliver a memorable meal. Expect a very casual and laid back experience where even the waiters are not your average professional and service driven waiter. They simply perform the task of saying 'What do you want'? and bring it out to you. As far as the food, that's why there's 4 stars by me. I personally recommend their Bowl of Chili, Fire Poppers, Ribs, Atomic Steak Slammers, Hamburgers are okay, and I just tried their latest 32 oz. Burger called the Picasso Burger. Dougies is my go to spot for kosher meat in NJ. Things to order: Chopped Salad with Chicken and Steak, Pastrami Burger, Regular Beef Burger, and Onion Rings. When you first sit down they give you tortilla chips and amazing medium spicy salsa. This is a great move on their part because the restaurant is always busy and it takes time for each order. My only issue with the service is how long it takes. Each waitress and waiter is always very nice and helpful. I go to Dougie's for one thing: A mean, smokey, charcoal-tasting burger, medium rare, no bun (I'm a glutard, forgive me), with a side of fries and some of their delicious homemade sauces. I leave Dougies feeling one thing: Full. Okay, I feel more than that. I feel satisfied and quite pleased with the charcoal taste the burger carries with it. Do they actually grill on charcoal? I have no idea. Does the burger taste like it was just cooked outside by some dude with a mustache and a PBR with an apron spouting some stupid saying about being the "Grill Master" or something? Really disappointing. I typically like this place, but last night was terrible. The place was being run by a bunch of inexperienced children. Came with my fiancee because we remembered Dougie's from our days of yore when it was our favorite fast food restaurant as kids and teenagers. Imagine my surprise when I went to wash my hands and saw multiple packages of wraps just sitting there. Whaaaaaaatttttt????? Not okay. Not at all. She was disappointed by her chili burger. The chili was basically sloppy joe and the burger was smaller than she'd remembered, along with the bread being soggy. (Seriously. Not everywhere can be Amsterdam Burger.) I started to eat my sandwich and it was just not good. Who makes a brisket sandwich in a BBQ place with tomato sauce? The meat wasn't great, and the sauce was just out of place. Was hoping for a smokey BBQ sauce (What I get for not going to our usual Smokey Joe's). I actually sent it back after 1 or 2 bites (Something I'd never done before, because it's really not a very nice thing to do as a rule, but was needed because I didn't feel like spending a ton on a sandwich I just wasn't going to eat.) The one positive of the night is they were very understanding of me sending it back, and apologized profusely and credited me completely for it, even though we ate most of the side, and a bit of the sandwich. I hadn't kept kosher until a few years ago, ate lots of non-kosher BBQ over the years. So I suspect that my standards for kosher places are one star lower, thus you should be aware that I might be giving one star too many. I went on a Sunday afternoon, ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich and spicy fries. Compared to the huge pile of fries, the portion of brisket on the sandwich looked small-ish, but I ended up cutting the thing in half because I couldn't finish it all even though I started out hungry. The 'que was very good but could have used a little more smoke flavor and slightly less cloying BBQ sauce, but I enjoyed it very much. The bread and side slaw were good but nothing to rave about. The spicy fries were a bit disappointing; not enough spice and too much starchy coating for faux-crunch. I dipped them in Dougie's sauce rather than ketchup to savor them. Next time, I'll order the regular fries because they looked much better at the table next to mine. Service was a little slow, albeit warm and friendly, even thought the place was fairly empty. I enjoyed it much and will go back to try more things on the menu. But readers should not expect an exact duplication of true (non-kosher) southern BBQ. I've been to Dougie's several times. Their chicken sandwich is very good and their spicy fries are amazing. The spicy fries are definitely a must get. I've also heard that their steak and burgers are delicious. They also give really good chips and salsa before your meal. They are delicious! I got the chicken fingers with some kind of apricot dipping sauce once and that wasn't that good. The chicken was a bit tough and not very flavorful. The restaurant does tend to get very crowded, especially if you go on a Sunday. There's no real waiting area so everyone ends up stepping on each other. The service also tends to be slow when there are a lot of people. Several times when we've been there, we've had to wait a while to get the waiter or get our check. read more

I went to Dougie's a few months ago and I was pleasantly surprised. My burger was juicy and they offer free refills on fountain sodas (something rare in kosher restaurants). The last two times I went, however, my burger was overdone, the bun is way too big for the patty, and the chicken fireslammers were overcooked and tough. Prices are good and there are still free refills, but this is not a place I'm going regularly with that quality food.
