I was on the hunt for an engagement ring. My girlfriend had given me lots of differing styles, and I was looking for that special ring that brought it all together. I had been to 5 different jewelers before I finally arrived at Hinrichsen Jewelers. Keith welcomed me warmly and we started to look through the options. Nothing was quite right, but he kept asking questions. We ironed it down to a distilling idea, and he hunted through catalogs for additional designs. We found one that could work. On our next meeting, we showed me diamonds in quality beyond what I was expecting, yet still in my price range. He made it clear the ring I had ordered had stones of high quality, so the center stone should match. I wasn't upsold here, he got me a better stone than other jewelers while staying on budget. I know this because I had used a loupe to look at 20 stones prior to coming to Hinrichsen, so I was really impressed with the options he presented. All in all, Hinrichsen Jewelers is an exceptional store, and Keith is awesome. He helped me get something special. Whereas other jewelers stopped offering choices after a while, Keith kept digging until we found something perfect. He crafted a ring with a stone that was beyond what I was expecting. I had to find a good place for watch repair. The owner, Keith, and Carol, one of his assistants, were very very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable. I have been coming to Hinrichsen for a few years now for mostly watch purchases and minor repairs (batteries, strap replacements/adjustments, etc..) The staff and owner have always been very accommodating, friendly and helpful. My latest stop was with my fiance to shop for a wedding set for her. This was the first jeweler we stopped at and the last. While we did "shop around" a little bit, we determined that the value, service and pricing that was offered with the ring we wanted was second to none. Carol was very patient and gracious which made our decision even easier. We are thrilled with our new engagement ring and will be back for a future wedding band for sure! read more

I have been looking for a "small town" feel jeweler since moving to Phoenix. I found it! I walked in at 5:20 p.m. and walked out by 5:50 p.m. with a new watch battery (that other place wanted $60 to do because it was a name brand watch); my son's inherited pocket watch fixed; and my silver bracelet shining. My initial call to ask if they fixed these items was answered by the jeweler himself. He was patient with all my questions and authentic with his answers. I went in after work and both ladies working with him were happy and pleasant. The one lady was helping a gentleman look for a Christmas present and there was no pressure sales. One last point, they closed at 6:00 p.m. but you would not know that because they did not act like it was almost closing time. I am beyond impressed! I am a huge fan as well as a long term customer. These people were delightful! Carol helped us. She greeted us immediately. All I needed was 6 watch batteries replaced and she treated us as if we were buying a $10,000 piece of jewelry. We were there about 10 minutes and browsed around and she gladly showed us pieces we asked to see in the cases. There prices seemed quite reasonable (I had my eye on a beautiful two-tone crucifix. They had a large assortment of crosses and Star of Davids. Nice. I will be back! read more

The watch repair at Hinrichsens is beyond amazing. This man is a genius! Repaired an Omega watchband using piano wire. Looks and functions like new. Omega wanted $500 for a replacement clasp that the genius here fixed for $75. I was confident when I brought it in that he could fix it...and I was right. So very pleased. read more

A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! Me and my fiance took in a ring that had been passed down from my deceased grand mother to my mom and now to my fiance. We were hoping to find out a little bit about the ring and get it sized down. When we dropped off the ring they were very very nonchalant about helping us "maybe because I was dressed down, sweat pants and a sweater ..... . The store is in a Target parking lot for Pete's sake, didn't know i need to wear my suit and tie to get polite customer service, very cold lady. Finally the lady decided to ask if we needed something. Once we pulled out the ring she seemed somewhat interested in us but that didn't last long. The lady gave a quick look at the ring and did tell us it wasn't gold, maybe sterling silver. She then passed my grandmothers ring along to the Jeweler and asked him if the stone was real, he took a quick look at us "somewhat of a sideways look like we brought him a stolen ring". Then back to the ring, with his naked eye he gave a glance and said, with out a doubt. Handed a receipt and were shuffled out the door. The DAY AFTER it was scheduled to be picked we gave them a call and they were to busy to see if the ring was done. We did get a call back 5 five hours later saying it was done, that was nice... Beggars cant be choosers we will take what customer service we can get. When we picked it up we asked if the jeweler had time to tell us more about the family ring and of course he didn't. BOTH TIMES WE WERE THE ONLY ONES IN THE STORE! But Wait as she hand the ring to us she did tell us that NOW she's not even sure if the stone is real. ARENT YOU GUYS EXPERTS and get paid to know??? Not being someone that has had much experience with jewelers I didn't think to look at the ring. Well to say the least my grandmothers ring is still to big and its not even round anymore. It's more of an oval with a point at the bottom, Well good to know that I only spent thirty six dollars "highlight of the trip". I still know nothing about my grandmothers ring, is it gold, is it silver, the stone is real, ohh wait maybe it isn't????? This time i'm taking my sweet time to research where the good Jewelers hide and it's not in a Target parking lot. Now this much I do know about jewelry stores!
