We went to Doug's on Saturday. It was hard to find a parking spot since they have only on-street parking. The hours on the website we saw were not correct, but we still were there in time for lunch. The people were friendly, but the service (getting our food) was slow. My husband ordered the Reuben, and a side salad. I ordered the patty melt and a side salad. When they finally brought out our meals, my husband got what he ordered, but they put a salad entree in front of me. I told them I ordered a patty melt and was told the server did not understand and they would make it for me right away. I asked for my salad while I was waiting and they brought that, which I thought was very good. My husband thought the corned beef was dry. This was because they grilled it, but otherwise was ok. He thought the salad did not have enough lettuce, or leafy greens. When my patty melt came out it was hot and good. I had asked for medium rare and it was medium, which was ok. They apologized and took 15% off our bill for the error. read more

My meal was terrific! I had the "Sharon" omelette with fruit and an English muffin instead of potatoes and toast. Everything was cooked exactly the way I like it. The service (by Normita) was also great. My husband and I have been regulars for a couple of years and there is new ownership/management, so there were a few hiccups, but mishaps have smoothed out, and now Doug's is one of my favorite places to have breakfast. read more

Great food and adequate service once you get a seat. We had breakfast here Sunday morning and thought the food was outstanding. They have over half the seats closed off for safety I guess, and it makes the wait time quite long. I'll leave out the politics, just miss how great it was to dine out with friends before all this craziness became normal. Service was quite attentive. Portions were really more for a pro-wrestler or for two people; talk about left overs. If I were a local I'd be a frequent flyer here. Try it, you'll like it! read more

Just had the worst experience at Doug's. We've been huge fans since they arrived in Northern Colorado and go there at least twice a month. Our food took over 30 minutes to get on the table and most of it was great as usual. The side of bacon was so raw that it was cold. It looked like it was in the pan for seconds. The waited never came back so there was no way to tell her. We sure the rest of breakfast and I had to take the check to a group of staff giggling and talking in the coffee where the computer is. I told the young man there that I needed to check out. I let him know about the bacon and he just laughed and said that he would tell the cooks. Not even a comp on the side of bacon. I think we'll find a new favorite place for breakfast. Doug's just isn't what it used to be sadly. read more

This was recommended by some family we are visiting in Greeley, and I'm glad they recommended it! Has a great atmosphere with a variety of items on the menu. My wife and I had the 1/2 versions of the papas. I had mine with home fries, carne asada, and green and red chile . My wife had the one with hash browns, bacon, ham and green chile. Doug's is a great option for breakfast or lunch- Their portions are humongous and will feed the average stomach for 2 meals. My family likes to order a few items and share because it is hard to make a decision on what you want to eat. Depending on how late in the day you arrive you should except a wait as this is one of Greeley's most popular brunch spots and one of the only downtown options open early. The wait staff is prompt and kind. We often get placed in Liz's section and she's super attentive with refills of coffee and always helpful. When we come in she's one of the staff that helps us feel like regulars. read more

Finally got it right! This is the third business to open in this space in a relatively short time. I was unimpressed by the other two, but this new diner is exactly what we've been needing downtown and in Greeley in general. When I walked in, the remodel wasn't major, but enough to make it feel like a new space and a legit diner- new with a retro feel. The server greeted me immediately with a friendly face. I was seated and handed a huge menu with a supplement menu specific to Greeley menu options. There is a great selection of classics and newer, creative options. I really like that they offer smaller portions of their omelettes and papas. I got the smaller omelette and it was plenty! I have been to Doug's Diner twice now. My first time we were instantly seated and helped. Our server was incredibly kind and helpful. I ordered a caramel chai and it was super delicious. It was rich in flavor and super sweet. Our food came out quick. I got the biscuits and gravy, those were pretty average. The biscuits weren't too dry and the gravy wasn't watery or too thick. It made an evenly balanced combo. My second visit was on a Sunday afternoon so there was a bit of a wait considering people getting out of church or going for sunday brunch. Once we were seated our server came and greeted us. Our food did take a bit to be prepared considering it was so busy, which is understandable. I got the pancakes and i would say they were above average. I have had pretty good experiences both times. I believe in second chances and am extremely disappointed because I actually gave them a third chance. While the food and the hostess are amazing the service is less than desirable. They have a few wait staff that are on top of it but unfortunately it seems I get the less than stellar ones every time I go in. My last experience dining in was my last. I will get my food to go or dine in at the Loveland location. Please train your wait staff better. First visit - Ordered a taco salad with no green onions. Came with green onions, thought I'd just pick them out and eat it anyway. Nope. They were mixed into the lettuce. Didn't see waitress again until I flagged her down, almost 20 minutes later. Chalked it up to first week opening hiccups. Second visit - Came in at 11:30am, got seated right away, waited for wait staff. Finally someone came to get our drink order, brought them out and waited. The same waitress came and let us know she was taking our table since we had yet to see the actual person assigned to our section. She saved that experience. Last visit - Came in around 10am NY Day and was seated right away, as always. They were not busy, had maybe 8 tables occupied and I saw 5-6 wait staff. Our server came and got our drink and food order, then we waited. Two other tables were seated after and had on the ball waitresses who got their drinks out fast. Still we waited. We saw the great wait staff make their rounds multiple times but our waitress had disappeared. After about 15 minutes I asked the hostess where our waitress was because we were still waiting on drinks and hadn't seen her. After that it didn't take long to get served but I will never be dining in again. read more
