The people were friendly, the crowd welcoming. I was a regular patron who enjoyed the atmosphere 2-3 nights a week. I came for the Karaoke. SIL had 2 hosts until recently. I like them both but a week or so ago one was "let go". This was done without notice, without considering what effect this might have on its clientele. OK, people lose positions all the time, right? Yeah, but the way they did it, their lack of loyalty, both to the KJ and to us their patrons who were not allowed one last night to say goodbye, that dismissal showed us all that WE were disregarded. I, and many of the regulars will not be back.

Leo came by and cleaned our table off. Unfortunately I had removed my lower partial denture to eat and I wrapped it up in a napkin. I wasn't paying attention and Leo grabbed our baskets and empty drinks for us. About 30 minutes later my gal says where is your denture? Oh NO!!!!! IT GOT THROWN AWAY!!! So I found Leo and told him to see if he remembered which garbage can it may have been tossed in. We went to the first one he apologized but it wasn't his fault. I dug in and couldn't find it in the first can and it was a mess. Nasty! But no denture. He says must be the can behind the bar. I expected him to bring it out for me to dig through. Nope Leo dives in digging through the trash and about half way in the nasty mess he suddenly pops up with my denture in hand!!!!! Hands it to me. Amazed he didn't hesitate to help find it. And apologized for taking it. It's was his fault and I appreciate his help BIG TIME! Saved me about $1700. Couldn't believe we found it. Can't say thanks enough for the effort. Really appreciate him digging through the trash to help. Thanks bud! If I could give 10 stars I would leave 100!!!! See you again soon!

I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. Well I was pleasantly surprised as it was a pretty cool, divey spot. There is a large bar and many pool tables, a sign posted saying it was the only pool hall in Chico. I didn't check out the tables but almost all of them were taken by various groups. The clientele was extremely varied between regulars and people stopping in for one drink like us.
