This was my first visit, and it definitely won't be my last. I ordered the butter chicken and the tandoori chicken, and both were excellent. The butter chicken sauce was absolutely delicious, with a wonderful blend of spices that was rich and flavorful without being overpowering. It had lots of juicy, tender chunks of chicken and came with a serving of rice. The tandoori chicken was equally delicious . It was moist, flavorful, and I don't know what they're using in their marinade, but it was delicious. The portion size was generous--two thighs, two drumsticks, and a large serving of rice with vegetables. It felt like a great value for the price. I ordered takeout, so I can't comment on the dine-in service, but everyone I interacted with during pickup was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The restaurant has a cozy ambience, and they have a photo wall for selfies. Overall, a great first experience. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. read more

What an amazing atmosphere--fun yet elegant. The chairs are incredibly comfortable, and everything is spotless (I always check the bathroom first--if that's clean, you know the rest is too!). We visited Sofi'z Kitchen for lunch after searching for a restaurant that had vegetarian options for my parents. How delighted we were with the entire experience! Not only were there many options on the menu to choose from, every dish was delicious. Sofi served us herself and we felt like she had prepared lunch just for us. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and so comfortable. We can hardly wait to visit Sofi'z new larger location when it opens later this summer. Amazing butter chicken, it came with rice. I also got garlic naan. The rice was surprisingly better than the naan, with aromic spices. The naan was a little more soggy, but maybe that's because I got it for to-go. My main gripe was the mango lassi. I've had mango lassi before but this one was way to sweet. Made me cough on the first sip type sweet. I did not like it. 7 dollars for a mango lassi i couldn't even drink is insane. The portion for the lassi was big but small to go sizes for the butter chicken and rice (21 bucks). Service and ambience is amazing. I might come again, but no more lassis for me. read more

You don't have to put your purse on the floor nor table top. I have only experienced this purse luxury once at a very expensive 5-star restaurant in NYC. This delightful restaurant experience feels like a luxury 5-star NYC restaurant, but at Chico location and prices. . My husband enjoyed a wonderful meal last night to celebrate our anniversary. Sofie and her crew are exceptionally hospitable. We feel as if we are dining with an old friend. Again our curry dishes were so tasty. But we also tried a new (to us) appetizer that we highly recommend. The Gai Gabaa are crispy hollow bread spheres which you fill with a chick pea and onions etc. type relish and dip in a lovely sauce before eating. We loved them. We ate at Sofi'z for the first time tonight, and it was AMAZING! I was too excited to take pictures of our entrees, but we got: masala chai, chicken biryani, Chana gohst, regular and garlic Naan, shahi kheer, and rasgulla. There was plenty of food, and my husband and I typically bring home leftovers, but the food was so good all that was left for us to take home was two pieces of naan. Sofi, the owner, is the sweetest and she went around to every table to talk with customers and make sure they had everything they needed. I am VERY pregnant, and she brought a cookie "for baby" with my masala chai and sent us home with a little gift. They are also training a new employee who is deaf and it was so nice to see Sofi's interest in learning ASL; my husband and I are both speech therapists and had a long conversation with Sofi, her new employee, and his brother who interpreted for us. The ambience is beautiful, too! Definitely an Instagramable place, with lots of pretty pink flowers and upholstered seating. We loved this place during our trip to Chico. The ambience is wonderful and the seating and decor is fantastic. Staff is courteous and food is good. The owner Sofi was very warm and friendly. She interacted with my 3-year old very pleasantly and also went out of her way and made a special birthday celebration for her with a cake and a thoughtful gift. My friends and I spent an enjoyable and delicious lunch at Sofi'z yesterday. We were able to get our favorite window table with the hot pink comfy chairs. Sofi is a treasure herself. She is witty and entertaining and obviously is the heartbeat of this establishment. She answered our many questions about the food and helped guide us to our different choices. It did take a while for the food to arrive, but that was because she warned us that one dish would take 15 minutes to prepare. While in Chico for a show, my dad and I made our way to Sofi'z kitchen and bar for a bite to eat beforehand. We were promptly and warmly greeted by Sofi herself. The ambience and decor in the restaurant is totally funky and fun and I absolutely loved every minute of it. To start, we ordered two samosas that had a wonderful level of spice to them. For our meal, we decided to share some palak paneer, chicken tikka boti, lamb kebab curry, garlic naan, and jasmine rice. The depth of flavor in each of the dishes was phenomenal and you can tell that they truly take the time to ensure that each and every dish is perfect. The food was so comforting and filling. TLDR: Amazing, will be back. Don't miss it. Stopped in after seeing the reviews and having a recommendation from family that lives in Chico. This place is excellent, and Sofi is such a sweet and thoughtful person to meet. She greeted us and answered all our questions before we sat down (due to diet restrictions). Love how this place doesn't add sugar to their dishes. Everything we ordered was 5 stars. The Qurma (goat curry), Royal Palak, and sauteed vegetables (asked for since we were currently avoiding carbs) were savory and so delicious. The Masala tea was great too. The Qurma was especially exceptional, and the sauce matched well with the Royal Palak. You can tell there is a lot of love and thought put into this place. The seats by the windows were so comfortable. We initially walked right by, realized our misstep, and turned around. The inside decor seen from the window didn't match what I was expecting, but is lovely nonetheless. The interior reminded me of Valentine's Day with all the hearts. A great place for a date. If you are in Chino I highly recommend this restaurant. First walking in you will see a fun and bright restaurant. There are flowers on the wall as well as lots of paintings. The owner Sophiya loves cows do you will see some fun paintings. The womens restroom was so clean and decorated well. Sophia was our server. She was so friendly and you can tell that she takes pride in her restaurant. The food was amazing. So yummy. You can tell that there was effort put into. Sophia said that she uses recipes that were from her mother. Everything was spectacular. We were just visiting but if we were ever back we would definitely be back. Ambience: I've been into stunning cafes like this in other parts of the world but rarely do I find them in the states. The owners have taken the inside and made it come to life. For being cooked in jalapeño sauce it was not spicy believe it or not. Good overall though. Especially the veggies with it. Also well done on serving sizes!
