I hired Fuse Service when they were Switch Service and they fixed my dishwasher. Vlad, the…read moretechnician, found out that he needed to order an additional part to fix it and would need to make an additional trip. I assumed he would charge for the follow-up visit, but there were no additional charges; I really appreciated his honesty. Recently, I had a text dialog with Russ and found out that Fuse service's HVAC systems as well. I agreed to an annual maintenance plan, but didn't plan on having them out until fall. A few weeks later, while I was out of town in July, I got a message from my Ecobee thermostat indicating that the A/C wasn't working. I texted Russ about this and he showed up after 6PM on a Saturday, the same day I texted him about the issue! He figured out what was wrong right away and just folded the service call into my annual service plan which was, as before with the dishwasher, very generous and much appreciated. I'm literally excited to have Fuse Service as my go to place for appliance repair and HVAC maintenance. I'm used to businesses asking me to write positive Yelp reviews and I don't mind that. But, Fuse did not ask me to write my review.

He diagnosed the problem right away, clearly explained everything, and the pricing was fair and transparent with no surprises. The turnaround was very fast -- as soon as the part arrived, he came back quickly and had everything up and running the same day. You can tell he really knows what he's doing and cares about his work. SO happy we found him and Switch Service. Highly recommend!

I have adopted two cats from CARS and they have both been wonderful, healthy, well-adjusted pets…read more The volunteers are so nice and obviously care very much about the animals and where they are placed. Even though the cats spend their days in small cages, there is a revolving cast of volunteers who come into the store daily and make sure the cats get exercised. They also "foster out' cats so that they become socialized and used to living in a home.

Although it is a small shelter, they're very meticulous and take really good care of the cats. Each feline is "vetted", receives their shots, and is spayed or neutered before being adopted, so all of the medical necessities are included in the adoption "fee" (which makes it quite the bargain). All cats are screened for parasites and other ailments such as FIV and FIP (which is something that many pet stores do not do... a very sad lesson that a friend of mine learned the hard way) and are monitored for a period of time before being made available for adoption. There is a small army of dedicated foster parents and volunteers that care for the cats, making sure they are healthy and their personalities are suitable for being adopted, before they are moved into the "cattery" for viewing and, hopefully, adoption. The cages and litter boxes are cleaned and disinfected several times a week, and the cats are offered lots of time out to play and interact. There is such a sense of security when looking to adopt an animal from C.A.R. because you never have to worry about illness beyond a little winter cold (yep, cats get colds, too!) This is also a no-kill shelter. And unlike some places, you will never find the "it's just a cat" attitude here. The adoption process might seem a bit off-putting for those who are used to pet stores who will sell any animal to literally anyone without question, but C.A.R.'s goal is to make sure that everyone involved... both your family and the cat... will be happy. After all, adopting an animal is a commitment, and fates willing, you will have your pet for many, many years! They're very good about making sure that the cat's personality (shy, dominant, skittish, friendly, etc.) is right for your family and your home (single- or multi-cat home, families with or without children, families with or without dogs, etc.) The comfort, health, and safety of the cat is paramount. As I mentioned, we've adopted three cats from C.A.R. All three have been amazing... 100% litter-trained, healthy as horses, and absolute angels, with completely different personalities! Our lives are so much more complete with our little furbabies, and we really can't thank C.A.R. enough for taking such good care of them while they waited to come home.

I called customer service to confirm exactly what the…read more"FREE QUOTE" included and was told the electrician would go up on a ladder to inspect the ceiling fan and electrical components and provide a written repair quote. Once the electrician gained entry to my home, no inspection was performed, and the visit was instead converted into an attempted upsell to a paid diagnostic. This conduct reflects a classic bait-and-switch. The "FREE QUOTE" was used to induce the appointment. This conduct implicates multiple consumer-protection violations as outlined below, including heightened concerns where deceptive in-home solicitations affect senior customers: - Bait-and-switch -- promising a "FREE QUOTE" to induce an appointment, then substituting a paid diagnostic once access to the home was obtained, in violation of 815 ILCS 505/2B and FTC Act §5 (15 U.S.C. §45). - Deceptive and unfair business practices -- materially misrepresenting what the "FREE QUOTE" included and failing to provide the promised inspection and written estimate, in violation of 815 ILCS 505/2 and FTC Act §5. - Material misrepresentation -- the scope of the "FREE QUOTE" was a material term that influenced the decision to schedule the appointment and allow entry into the home, actionable under 815 ILCS 505/2. - Deceptive inducement and reliance-based harm -- the misrepresentation caused reliance before any payment occurred, which constitutes legally cognizable harm under 815 ILCS 505/2 and federal unfair-and-deceptive-acts standards. In-home solicitation violations -- deceptive conduct occurring inside a consumer's residence, which is subject to heightened scrutiny under FTC Act §5 and Illinois consumer-protection enforcement standards. - Senior consumer protections -- misleading in-home solicitations and high-pressure upselling affecting a senior consumer trigger enhanced enforcement priority under Illinois Consumer Fraud Act (815 ILCS 505/2) and federal consumer-protection policy concerning older adults.
